      A few nights ago someone was banging on my door at 9 PM. I opened the door thinking it was a neighbor that needed help. A man was standing on my porch looking down at an iPad. I asked if I could help him with something. He never introduced himself or greeted me. He started to point to my neighbors' houses telling me he "services all of them". I asked what he did for them and he said he got rid of wasps and bugs. I told him I have a service to which he replied that 13 of my neighbors fired that service and hired him. I told him that I was satisfied with my current service, thank you for coming but it was late and I needed to go inside. He was aggressive and kept speaking over me. I politely listened for a few minutes and when I asked him for a business card so I could look into his company, he said loudly "I HAVE AN IPAD!" I asked again for a card and he kept saying he had an iPad. I told him that made no sense and since he doesn't have a business card that I would talk to my neighbors and if I was interested I would get in touch with his company. He was annoyed kept speaking over me loudly. Finally, I said I needed to go inside and help my disabled husband with something and said good night. He continued to talk! I said again, "Thank you. Have a good night." and started to close my door. He got aggravated and spun around on his Segway which left skidmarks on my new sidewalk. I spoke to my neighbors that live in the houses that he pointed to. They never heard of the company. Pushy door-to-door salespeople are total turnoffs, especially at night! Besides, I don't do business with rude liars that have zero respect for others and their property. PLEASE, DO NOT COME BACK!

      We got scammed into signing up for pest control based on ***** coming to the door and telling us our neighbor had referred us and many of the townhome owners have regular treatments. He said I could cancel after 12 months but dont tell the other neighbors and reduced the price to $60 per month. Right after the first treatment I called because we were finding large spiders in the home. I was told thats normal and means its working because theyre coming out of their hiding spaces. Really? I live in an adult community and want to cancel given I didnt know this was a scam and clearly their treatments dont work. Please help.

      I am rejecting this response because they never contacted me! I've tried calling repeatedly since before I filed this complaint with the BBB and no one answers the phone. There has been no communication from Aptive at all, their statement isn't true.

      I am rejecting this response because: I checked with other extermination companies and they said that the initial treatment should have reduced the number of insects rather than increased them. Aptive has many complaints against them and as a senior citizen, living in a 55+ community, clearly we were targeted to be scammed. *****--if that's his real name--used the verbatim script that one of the other complaints contained and he lied about the neighbors hiring them. I want the contract canceled without penalty effective immediately.

      I have a pest control company that came to my door a few months ago and offered me a 39 a month deal per service. I NEVER signed any contract with them though they are saying I did. Now they are trying to charge me 115 for my last service and every service from now on. I called them but they refuse to do anything. They wont even cancel my account unless I pay 199 no DID NOT sign a contract. If they have one its a fake. I want to cancel these people and pay only 39 for my last service. I will not pay 199 to cancel. I intend to dispute any charges they make in my credit card. Can you please help? Thank you

      On May 23, 2024, a man came into our neighborhood on our private road selling pest control services. My wife answered the door and told him we were not interested. He did not leave. My wife came and got me. I told the representative, who did not produce any identification and was not wearing a uniform, that he was on a private road and should not be there. I reiterated we were not interested in the service. He did not leave right away even though we asked him to leave. He persisted in visiting another house on our private road. I contacted law enforcement. The officer who followed up explained he had encountered this individual from this company the prior day. This company will try to intimidate you into buying their service. Beware.

      We were solicited by a young man named ***********************, who came to our front door about pest control. He told us he was starting his own business and offered us services at $179. We declined and, then the offer went to $159. We declined again. The offer then went to $99 if we would sign a contract for year. If we canceled before the year, all we would have to pay the difference between the $159 and $99. We decided to give it a try. The contract was on his iPad, and he quickly brought up for me to sign. We were given no copy of the contract nor any kind of business card. We had no idea this was a company based out of ****. What a scam. They wanted to come out that evening, but it was raining so we said no. Two more times they tried to reschedule on days with rain in the forecast. I finally told them not to come until there was no rain in the forecast for at least 24 hours. When they did come, I followed them as they quickly sprayed around the house. I thought their service was sub-par and we decided to cancel our membership. We had to go back to a text message to find the number from when they had contacted us for service. The young man then told us we would have to contact Adaptive Environmental. I called them and said we would like to cancel, as we were not happy with the service. They told us we would have to pay a cancellation fee of $199.99. I told them I wanted to see a copy of the contract. Upon viewing the contract, we see that the normal treatment price was $300 and that they gave us a $99 dollar deal. Our contract was for 18 months, not 12 as the young man stated, hence the $199.99 amount they are charging us to cancel. We feel lied to and mislead. This company and its employees are scammers. We want our $199.99 cancellation fee returned. Buyer beware!!***********************

      I started service with Aptive Environmental Pest Control in July 2023 and was told that this was for a quarterly service which means four times a year. I was told I could cancel at any time and would only lose the initial ****** that I paid when service was started if I canceled right away. I sent an email today to the company stating I wanted to cancel my service as of today 5-20-24. Later in the evening I received a call from ****** who works for the company asking me why I was leaving. I explained I no longer wanted their service and wasn't really happy with the service. The rep continued to badger me and kept asking why I was leaving and did I really want to cancel the service. He asked this several times and I finally asked for a supervisor. He then informed me that they would charge me an addition ****** to cancel my service and that I had to fulfill 7 more service calls. I then spoke with his supervisor *** who basically told me she couldn't handle this complaint and would send my info to someone else to contact me back. In the meantime I checked my credit card to see how many times I had been charged by their company and saw they have charged me 6 times for a total of $1134.00 which does not seem correct since I should have only been charged 4 times for quarterly service. I have frozen my credit card so that they can't charge me anymore and I am not sure if they have canceled my service yet. This place is a scam. In my opinion I feel I have overpaid for this service and they at least owe me $348.00 since I have been charged more than four times.

      I live in ************ (**) and was at home this evening when I heard someone knocking on the windows adjacent to the front door. Given that it was 8:48pm and my husband was traveling for work, I did not go to answer the door. However, the person kept knocking and knocking harder. I finally went to the window and was greeted by "**** from Aptive". When I asked him if he knew that it was 8:48pm, he responded, "oh, is that late??" I just said "yes" and walked away knowing that I was going to file a complaint about his violation of our community's "no solicitation" guidelines as well as his disrespectful customer interactions.

      We transacted with Aptive Environmental over a 2 year period. Beginning in fall of 2023, we attempted to end our relationship with them, for health and financial reasons. Our commitment to them was fully satisfied prior to that point in time. Several calls resulted in promises that the account would be closed and that there was no problem doing so. Needless to say, the account remains open apparently to this day. Calls to the regional center, the center in *****, and the headquarters in ****, result in further promises that the account is closed. Quite obviously they failed to do so because another bill for services arrived mid May (5/22). This consistent, repetitive billing and inability to close the account finality leaves us feeling harassed and victimized. Our next course of action will be to contact the State ************************* in ********.

      Aptive sales representative miss informed us on financial commitment we were signing.He explained for the treatment its cost would be $99 rather than the normal $300. He said that next years price would be the standard rate with the right to cancel. He did not mention there would be 3 more treatments this year at $189 for the years total of $666!! He had us sign a contract after his presentation we didnt understand he didnt explain it correctly! We are elderly and cant afford this sum and would have never signed if we understood the price!They performed first service for $99 and we paid. They returned 14 days later did the outside service(first time was done in the rain)! I then noticed a $189 charge to my bank! I called Aptive they said that was for the next service and we had 2 more yet this year!! I said no we want a refund of the $189 and CANCEL the contract. I am totally upset Aptive sales rep totally miss informed us. The Aptive persons I have called said no to refund and the cancellation fee is $199!!! The sales agent put one over on us! We have not cancelled yet and are pursuing this complaint with BBB against Aptive Environmental! We would want a refund of the $189 for second treatment we didnt expect and they just did half of it plus cancellation without and further payment!!

      Claimed that their products would get rid of bugs; I have more than ever! They are here for 2 minutes and leave. Sprayed in the rain twice. More expensive to cancel than to keep the service. I am literally paying for nothing. I am obligated to get 2 more treatments that I dont want but dont feel its fair to pay $200 to cancel when they arent doing any thing!
