      I have been a customer of Aptive Pest Control for a few years. Over the past year, the service provided to me has been so poor it’s in direct violation of any contract they have with their customers.

      When you are trying to cancel a service, file a complaint, or cancel your entire subscription, they will ignore your attempts to reach out. When communicating with the company via text, I was frequently told I would be connected with a sales representative only to be ignored. When I tried to call in, the phone calls from my phone number (which was the number on my account) would be ignored. When I would call from a number not associated with my account it would immediately be answered but then I would be told I could not discuss complaints or make any changes to my account because I was not calling from a number associated with my account.

      When the technicians would actually come out to spray, they were only ever be there for 1-5 minutes (I have a 1500 square foot house and a rather large front and back yard). In addition, the technicians would chart that they treated areas of my home or yard that would be completely locked or inaccessible therefore I am confident that they are misrepresenting the services that they are providing for me and voiding the agreement of our contract. Not to mention, they frequently “accidentally” sprayed my neighbors house instead. I would call to ask for a refund or for a repeat treatment and could never get in touch with anyone as noted above.

      And lastly, they use very aggressive and predatory sales tactics. These sales people will show up to your house on their scooters, wait ridiculously long amounts of time for you to answer the door or indicate that they have seen you are home and they won’t leave until they can discuss a great opportunity with you. The sales people will just straight up lie to you about any and everything to get your business because they know if you call to complain you won’t get through.

      I entered a contract with Aptive Environmental with a salesperson who came to my home in July of 2023. I agreed to the pest control service ONLY because I had a mole problem in my yard and the salesperson claimed that the company provided mole removal service. I did not receive mole traps at first service. I called and requested the traps as that was the reason I contracted with Aptive. A technician placed an above-ground box in my yard. Initially, I thought perhaps there was a device that went into the ground as well protruding from the bottom of the box. I was mistaken. I inquired with my second service technician. He stated that the box was only for small above-ground rodents and mole removal is not included in any Aptive service. He told me that he has heard salespeople will tell clientes that it is a service provided by Aptive when contracting with individuals. The tech said, "I don't know why they tell people we remove moles."

      I had someone else eradicate my mole problem for which I had been paying Aptive, and sent a certified cancelation letter to Aptive in May, 2024. In my letter, I stated that I would not pay the $200.00 cancelation fee because the company breached my contract as it does not in fact provide mole removal services.

      Aptive representatives have called me stating they did not receive my certified letter. Someone signed for it on May 29, 2024, so they must have received it. They have threatened to forward my $199.00 "past due" account to collections.

      I have a terrific credit score and have never dealt with anything like this before. I am not sure how to proceed.

      Back in May, Eli in Jacksonville knocked on our door spouting all these amazing perks of Aptiv including:
      1. He was the territory manager and would cancel the contract whenever we wanted since we were renters
      2. The cost is $55/service
      3. SHOWED us in the contract that if we were unsatisfied, they could come out for free and if after the second time they came out free with no improvements we could cancel the contract no charge
      Two months later I get an unauthorized charge attempt on my card. Thinking it’s a mistake or error - we message Eli. No response. Next month, another attempt on my card. We blow Eli’s phone up and he tells us to call him. On the phone, he ADMITS he lied about all those things saying it was “just business”. Mocked us for not being able to afford $55 a month (when we are both pursuing our masters and the primary account holder is a medical intern for children with autism) and says he will need to talk to management to cancel the contract and would have an answer the end of the day. Not believing him, I called the local office and spoke to someone who said they would only charge per service but it would cost $200 to cancel the contract. I asked to receive all this in writing, to which she said the changes would be on the portal. I told her I would review the portal and speak with the primary person on the account. None of those updates were made on the account and attempts are still being made to charge my card, even better, that page of the contract we were showed (my point three above) was not there. We still have not gotten an update from Eli that they were able to cancel our contract. I am reaching out to get our contract cancelled for no fee (as promised by your “territory manager”) and the balance from the charges we were lied to about cleared on our account. Given our experience, we will only be communicating through written communication.

      August 01, 2024, I was met in my yard behind my house by a person stating he was from Aptive Environmental and then he started his pitch. I guess there were not enough 'no's in my responses and eventually I caved in. The sales person mentioned that there would be numerous treatments in 12 months, but then they scheduled two treatments within the first 3 weeks of our signing up. That all seems very convenient for them to me, considering Michigan only has 6-7 months that pests would be around to be treated and I would like to cancel, without a cancellation fee as what was represented versus what is happening seems very different. In addition to this complaint above, I have received a number of phone calls from their accounting dept. trying to collect the original $49.00 that was paid, by check to the high pressure sales person that I signed on with on day one. The most recent call was today, although I have the Email from Aptive showing they received the initial payment.

      Their employees are going door-to-door and harassing me, my neighbors, and my friends and family members in other cities. They do not leave when asked, continue to bang on our doors and ring doorbells at late hours of the evening, and make repeat visits. I've contacted the company to complain and ask that they leave us alone, but they have not responded after my initial contact.

      July 2024
      Technician came to my house, was told not to enter the inside of the buidling. Went inside of my garage and sprayed newly built unfinished (no sealer on raw wood) cabinets and ruined $2000 worth of work/materials.

      I have submitted a claim with the company through Desiree Carpintero, Miguel Salgado and Devaughn Egans. I have not been given any status update nor any record that any claim has been made to the appropriate departments. I requested $1981.63. in compensation and provided a list of materials needed to make the repairs, as well as a very low and generous quote for labor. ($60/door to manufacture and hang 19 new cabinet doors.

      Please help as we worked very hard to purchase our first home only to have someone careless come in and ruin the work we have put into it.

      I entered into a service with the company by a door salesman. The service I was offered was not provided. When I called to cancel the service they refused to cancel my service until I pay a 200 cancellation fee. I was not informed about this. Aside from that they did not provide the service in which they agreed too . Its a full on bait and switch. And to charge me to cancel a service they did not provided.

      In mid-May, an Aptive representative stopped by our house while canvassing the neighborhood to sell pest control services. We discussed our needs, specifically mosquitoes and wasps, and he promised they could handle those in addition to all sorts of other pests. We didn't like the initial pricing, but eventually agreed to 4 treatments/year at reduced pricing, mosquito treatments included, and further reduced initial treatment.A technician came out the next day to start service. I asked about the treatments, and found that he wasn't treating for mosquitos (he said they weren't included in our package). I let him know it must be a mistake on their part as it's one of the only things we specifically asked for, and he was going to check in to get it corrected. They charged me the correctly reduced amount for the first visit, but did not provide all the services.It took nearly a month before they sent someone back out. Instead of correcting the issue (which by their contract should be free) or providing the contracted treatments, the tech quickly sprayed a few areas of the yard and left. I was incorrectly charged for a full treatment visit, which I did not agree to.I reached out to customer service, and they didn't resolve. Finally, we contacted them yesterday regarding a wasp nest that their 'treatments' failed to prevent, and to have it corrected. They sent someone out today. The technician didn't take care of the wasp nest; instead they did a little bit of spray and powder and again incorrectly billed us for yet another 'treatment'.I have tried several times to work with their customer service department to get the initial service completed, and incorrect charges corrected. There has been zero progress. I've asked them to remove my credit card information from their system. They have not complied.

      Aptive Environmental came to my door (which had a no soliciting sign on it) they committed to spay for bugs and termites so i agreed to allow them to for $99. When the Technician arrived and sprayed my property i then asked him about the termite treatment and he stated that they didn't offer any termite treatment. When i called to question them about what the salesman told me they said they don't offer termite treatment in my area. I then told them since they misrepresented their services i no longer wanted to do business with them and authorized them to charge my CC $99 for the one service that was rendered. They proceeded to put 2 charges on my CC,a $99 charge and another charge for $199 that I did not authorize.

      June 18th 2024- Aggressive sales person promising introductory special offer of $99 to try service to kill everything from moles to mosquitoes. No mention of contract or cancellation policy specifics and since it was 800 at night, dark out and were trying to use an iPad.Turns out that if you try and cancel before doing 8 services, that special offer now costs $299 and they want to collect the $200 balance, even when I called back a week after the treatment because it wasnt working at all. The company wouldnt even come back out to reapply or help in any way.They should be required to be upfront about their policies, otherwise I never would have signed up in the first place. Its not common practice within this industry to do business this way and I dont know why anyone would agree to this. I know I did not and now Ive had to hire another company to do the job correctly.
