I signed up from a door to door salesman whose entire pitch revolved around the idea that there were no commitments and that I could cancel at any time without issue. Come to find out that is not the case. After 3 days of being signed up you must complete a 12 or 24 months of service or be subject to a 199$ cancelation fee. They know damn well that nobody would agree to this if it was made clear in their sales pitch and thus chose their deceptive sales tactics to get customers like myself to sign up. No wonder they have been in legal battles multiple times for similar issues. Absolutely abhorrent business practice.Business Response

They have not yet reimbursed me for my 200 dollars but with this conclusion i hope to see it soon.

Signed a contract with Aptive ************ they came out twice broke my wife's glass candles on back deck. Then broke two flood lights. Then after two treatments. They stopped coming. They would give a date and send a text and email. Then never showed up. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with in my life. No one ever contacted me to say anything. I could not reach anyone. This company is a scam and is absolutely horrible. NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN AND A CLASS ACTION SUIT FILED. Employees have no clue what they are doing. The company just wants you to sign a contract and give them a credit card. That's it. That's all they care about.The owners just want the money. The door to door salesperson rushed through the sales process and specifically told me I could cancel at anytime. I was not pleased with the results of the treatment nor the price. My upcoming appointment was to cost $180 for the month. To get out of my contract was a $200 charge and the final appointment was cancelled. I found no benefit of the service. I contracted Aptive to get rid of spiders and ants around my house. The salesman guaranteed that they would completed get rid of all pests and doing a full spraying of my house to include inside my garage. They never contacted me to spray inside my garage, and after two sprayings I still have spiders and ants. I believe that the salesman inflated the ability of the company to control pests as the technician said that they could not get rid of them all. I am seeking to cancel my contract and not pay the early termination fee because I never got the level of service that I was sold.Business Response

I was told twice by the sales representative that Aptive Environmental Spray was safe for dogs. I asked twice prior to signing the agreement that I could let the dogs back into the yard within 20 to 40 minutes of the spray. I waited 2 hours to be safe. 3 of my dogs became sick. It started as vomiting and diarrhea and now has turned into blood in the diarrhea and my dogs are lethargic. I am trying to get them into the vet but cannot afford an emergency vet appointment and am having a hard time getting all 3 dogs in quickly. I contacted them in regard's to this and am awaiting a call back from the regional manager. I looked online and apparently this is far from the first complaint about being hazardous to pets and yet the company is advertising that it is. I may lose my 3 dogs and the only thing they said is we will have the regional manager call you and you really should call the vet instead of us!! This is absolutely ridiculous!!! My dogs are my kids not just pets and I am losing my mind worried about them and trying to get them seen. I want other pet owners protected from this company as this is not safe for any animals!!Business Response

On or about august 20th of 2024 a aptive sales person knocked on my door.. i live in a community that is posted no soliciting. He said he had a service person comming through the neighborhood to fulfill contracts and wanted to know of i would be interested in signing up? I asked and he explained that they are a monthy pest control service and stated that the regular price for the initial was over $300 but could offer me a special discount at $167 .. i told him i couldnt afford that at the time but to come back in two weeks. He said what if i could do it today for $59 ??? And it would be $167 a visit after that and i could cancel any time. I said sure. Do you take cash? He said no, credit card only. So i used a card and paid the $59. Later that day they came and sprayed around my house...two weeks later i could see no difference with the problem i was having with bugs around my house soni went to the website/app and attempted to change the schedule and take myself off auto-pay... there were buttons to do that but they are not a active. So i messaged them via their app.. no response. The following monday i found a number and called. Asked them to cancel the service. Was informed it would cost me $199 to cancel. I stated that was not discussed when the sales person was there. They said its in the service contract i signed the contract in one spot. Where it says the terms were explained to me orally and the rest were electronically auto filled. This is missleading and preditory and they do it knowingly as i have now seennover 100 complaints of the exact same thing. Customer service was no help. No other options were were offered untill after i canceled and they charged my account.Business Response

Signed on with Aptive back in May... and was thrilled to do so. We had used Aptive at our previous residence with no issue. At our new house, nothing but problems and broken promises. I had asked before signing the contract if we could be notified no less than two business days prior to service; was assured this was not a problem. NOT ONCE did we get notification two business days prior. We've also had issues with service not being completed (and I have security footage to confirm), yet receiving emails stating that service was rendered. These people LIE at every junction. I salesperson from Active Environmental came knocking on my door to sell me pest control service
I told them I would try them but wanted the option to cancel anytime…
I signed a contract on an iPad… could not see all the details of contract
But found out when I tried to cancel that they want to charge me $199 fee for canceling.
They have been threatening me with filing with collection agency

On the date i signed the contract, the Representative said their products will treat spiders and molds in my yard, but when the technician came out, the tech said no they do not treat molds. The technician spot sprayed inside my house and said I will start seeing spiders and bugs come out for two weeks. None of the contract was filled according to the agreement and I asked to void my contact due to not receiving the services I signed up to receive. It seems that I was scammed because they wanted to come back to my house but I refused.Business Response

This business signed me up for a "24 month contract" but did not disclose that as part of the conversation. I was offered discounts for engaging with their business for the first several months of service. When I was dissatisfied with the service and asked to cancel I was informed that I had agreed to a 24 month contract and while I could cancel at any time I would be required to pay $199 refund of discounts to cancel my account. I did not agree to or sign anything. I gave verbal consent (my bad, I will never do so again) to services unaware that I was agreeing to a contracted situation.
This business practice is deceptive. It should be fully disclosed that "cancel at anytime" includes a fee, instead of the implied try us and cancel whenever if you don't like us, which was how this was presented to me by the sales team.Business Response
