      If you are looking for a security system, use anyone else. Overall, the security system does its job and works fine. But, I have several complaints. (1) I had Vivint for close to 6 years. At one point towards the end of the 6 years, the control panel stopped working and it would not restart. Vivint came and replaced a part in the panel, but essentially told me the panel is older and I would need to pay for a new one. One top of paying for the equipment, Vivint apparently wants to you repay for new equipment every few years. (2) As everyone else has mentioned, the cancellation process was a nightmare. I went through the take-over department, because my house is being leased. Because the tenant created their own account as opposed to calling a specific number, Vivint has been charging me AND the tenant for monthly service, which is completely unacceptable. And, the tenant has a lower monthly fee than what I paid for 6 years. In trying to cancel the service via a phone call, Vivint asked me questions for over 30 minutes about what lower rate I would accept to keep my service, only for them to inform me I have to submit a cancellation request in writing. The call was a complete waste of my time. If I could do it over again, I would go with anyone else. I will never sign up for Vivint again.

      This company targets veterans. They continue to bill me for monitoring services when there is no equipment nor property/house to monitor as the home was sold months ago, all equipment paid in full at closing. You have to call and tell them each and every month since closing to stop billing you/reporting to ************** Was told they have no system in place that tells them equipment not active. Guess they monitor dirt and bill veterans. **************** is horrible. Lie saying its fixed then next month they say no payment was received. Do not get these stupid people to help you with security or customer service

      System constantly reseting. Panel blacks out and has to be reset. Cameras won't stay on. Alarms randomly go off. ie, smoke and carbon monoxide. Have tried for over a month to get a technician out and they only want to trouble shoot over the phone. Then when they see an issue they want to charge $99 for a tech to come out and trouble shoot more.

      If we could give a zero and below we would. Haven't had the system a full month l have had major issues alarm for fire NO fire thermostat not working temp in 2 story home 75 we have set at 66. Reps want me to check this wire that wire. Then to tell me it's 99 for them to come out and check the poor quality install (took him 8hrs to install). I HAVE A 80 AND THIS COULD BE CONSIDERED ELDELY ABUSE AND MISREPRESENTATION TO SELL HIM THIS SYSTEM

      We moved and cancelled our service with Vivint ( we were currently month to month, no contact) the representative gave us a confirmation number. We have now been charged for July and August ******** When we first saw the charge in July we called our bank and they stopped the payment and blocked future payments, however Vivint has managed to charge us again for August. They are fraudulently charging our account. We can not seem to get this under control. They are the worst company to deal with. Very deceptive

      They are as horrible as everyone here says they are. Equipment trash, customer service trash. Im 4 years in a 5 year contract and I cant wait til its over.

      Yesterday, 7/30/2024 around 3:00 PM, a Vivint salesperson came to our door and knocked 3 times, we have a very clear No Soliciting sign. My husband opened the door and politely asked him to leave and pointed at our no soliciting sign. After being asked to leave our property 3 times, the salesperson proceeded to curse out my husband, calling him names, and even yelling a homophobic slur. He only left our doorway after we threatened to call the police, and we are still considering filing a report for verbal assault and criminal trespassing, as our Ring camera captured this interaction. I have never experienced such blatant unprofessionalism and nastiness in my entire life. This is the reason we have a no soliciting sign. No means no!

      We have had Vivint for 2 years now. We haven't used it for a year due to the fact that the fire alarm kept going off for no reason in the middle of the night and we kept waking up to the fire department banging at our door. They replaced the fire alarm but we didn't want to deal with it anymore and got a ring instead. WAY CHEAPER and does basically the same thing. So went to call to finally cancel our monthly monitoring subscription and spent over an hour talking about how she is going to cancel the account and then proceeded to tell me at the end that they cant cancel the account unless the balance on the equipment is payed off. THAT WAS NOT EXPLAINED TO US with the salesman... and why are you just now saying this... If I don't use the service, why do I have to pay for it. I understand that we still owe on the equipment but that is completely separate in my opinion. Great product but HORRIBLE customer service. Not for their members at all. All about the money. If I was able to give 0 stars I would.
