1 starThis company is not trust worthy. The salesman lied about the contract, and they will pull a hard credit report. I canceled within 3 days of the contract but its been a month and I still have my equipment. They have rescheduled several times to get their equipment. **************** rep told me my account was closed which is what I used to dispute on my credit. I have a feeling the delay for picking up the equipment may lead to a bill. Do not get this system it is not worth the headache they are far worst than any other company and dont trust anyone on hoverboards and an orange shirt. Lies out of their mouth!!Review fromAngela E

1 starI do not recommend this company to anyone. The company is deceiving. everytime I call I get different excuses.I got started with vivnt 1/28/23. I work different hours and I noticed I wasn't getting any notifications. I changed my setting like I was told, still nothing changed. So then I asked if I could cancel. I was told it was past the timeline of when I could cancel. I am annoyed, and frustrated that I'm stuck paying for service and equipment that isn't doing the job. I called back in March because one of the window sensors going off. Again, I'm still not satisfied, with the system, they trouble shoot again and have me change my detection and sensibility. Still the doorbell does not pick up any movement in front of my yard. I will pick up the mailman standing directly in front of the camera. I have been in the house and daughter walk in and will not notify me. In fact more than I care to count, and no detection My vehicle is parked in my yard, I have had my gas stolen out my car and it not be detected. The camera in the back i have it facing my garage apt door and it does not detect unless you are directly in front of it. I have had a person hiding in my back yard, no detection. That cameras setting was checked. Of course nothing has changed. I asked how could I please get out of this. It's not right that people tell you lies to get a sale and you locked in and they won't let you out of a deceitful contract. I called in 10/26/23 for continued issues and again on 11/7/23. Except this time i was told now i have a bad wire and that i need to call an electrician and change it, then they can trouble shoot again. I called today because I want to speak with someone higher up. I had a very bad language barrier, she tried to trouble shoot my setting again like the other times, with no changes. This company is awful and I regret it. They really shouldn't do this to people want out of the contract.Review fromEva F

1 starI purchased the system expecting that I would feel a modicum of security - to video people coming to the house - when I am not home for long periods of time. I've had the system for almost a month. Several times in that short period of time, the doorbell camera and the camera in the back of the house, have stopped working. Those previous times, I've been able to reset them from my current location (away from the home where the system is located). Now, the doorbell camera is "off-line" and I've been told by two Vivint employees that they cannot fix it remotely and that either I must be at that home or I must have someone from the area go there, to fix the issue. I asked them to send a tech. I was told that I (or someone else) would have to be there. I am brand new to the area and do not know anyone in that town. In addition, it seems to me that if I had someone go to the house to fix the issue, they would need a key to get in, and also need the password or code (maybe?). I will not be returning to the property for several months. So, it's becoming apparent that Vivint is NOT working out to be the best option for home security. Buyer beware! PS I was burned using Vivint for solar a number of years ago. I should have learned my ******* but stupidly gave the company another chance. Never again.Review fromBrooklynne R

1 starI absolutely can not stand this company. It worked well for the first year. After that the systems kept failing. We have the protection plan that covers a technician fee, however, you cannot get them to send them to your house. Any time theres a problem you have to talk to online support for an hour and go through so many trouble shoots. If that doesnt work, they tell you to call a phone number and you go through the exact same trouble shoots. If that doesnt work, you talking to one more person and do the same thing before they will send you a new one and refuse to send a technician. We have had two get two new front door locks in one month due to faulty equipment. Its not worth trying to explain the nightmare of trying to cancel. They refuse to talk to you about cancellation and try to get you to sign a new contract for lower. You will be in this cycle for ours. Trying to get a new device and technician took 3 hours, I was so over it by the end I then tried to cancel. That took me another hour before they finally told me they cannot do it over the phone.Review fromWayne A

1 starI had Vivint alarm system They charged me for equipment and then they charged me for monitoring. Also it's separate charge. I started off with the a $49 bill and with the equipment charge it end up being $84. The salesman deceived me on how the process worked. Now that I have the system I'm under contract so I have to pay to get out of the contract. I'm very disappointed in the way that I was deceived on the contract. Stay clear of Vivint. There's a lot better systems out that charge you a lot less money.Review fromLee W

1 starThe door to door salesman ran my credit without asking. All of a sudden he told me my credit is frozen and asked me to unlock it. Then when I told him that I am no longer interested, he was very hard to get him to leave my house.Review fromjoseph b

1 starI hope that my experience and testimony will be a warning to anyone considering the Vivint service for residential home security. I still owe $243.00 on the equipment that Vivint sold me 4 years ago when I signed up for service. This equipment hasnt properly worked over the past couple of years. Yet Vivint wants me to buy additional upgraded equipment at a discounted rate knowing they sold me equipment that doesnt work. How does this make sense? It's impossible to get anyone on the phone to actually speak with you in hopes of resolving your issue. Here are some terms that come to mind for Vivint Smart Home: Unethical, fraudulent and deceptive.Stay away from Vivint, there are better options available to provide peace of mind and security for your home and family. But dont take my word for it. ******* Vivint Smart home settlement, for starters to see where the *** sued Vivint, a company who helped unqualified customers get financing for home ********************** products by misusing other people's credit reports.Vivint had to settle for $9.75 million to resolve.Or where Vivint was with hit $189.7 million verdict for stealing security rival's customers in ********************************************** paid Kansas $500,000 for allegedly deceptive practices. The company has racked up millions in penalties over the past decade for violations of consumer protection laws.Review fromBarbara C

1 starHorrible customer service. I called to cancel service July 11. 2024. I called again on August 6, 2024 to ask why my service is still on and billing continues. Thats when I was informed that a notice of cancellation was needed to fully cancel the service. The catch is that it takes 30 days to process and billing will continue during that 30 days. This is ridiculous. So disgusting that a company is unwilling to cancel service just to make another buck. ??. This is one of those companies where one needs to jump through hoops but never told what the hoops are. Aggravating to say the least. I spent 30 minutes on the phone with one gal who never gave me answers. Just double talk.Review fromJustice M

1 stardo not trust them!! Do not open your door for them!!!!!
I called Vivint security and was told by five different people that they understood my issue but they clearly do not care. I told them it was fraud. I did not consent to the $4000 line of credit being taken out in my name. They also did not tell me about the trial period That ended two days after the installment I had to argue and fight with them and the best they could do was take off five dollars a month for my bill!! Or I could pay off the equipment, no longer have the service and only pay half of the cancellation charge!!
You guys lied TO ME!!!! I didn’t lie to you!! You did me wrong, I have been building my credit for two years to be able to purchase a home for my children, and this is going to cause it to be delayed or possibly even ruin my chances at this point because you guys are liars you are fraud you’re scammers you don’t care about anybody you don’t care about your customers all you care about is your money. I do not want the security cameras I have had it a week I want it removed. I do not wanna make the payments on it anymore and I want the $4000 to be back to zero because I did not consent to it. This is fraud. This is ridiculous salesman do not tell you upfront about the line of credit they do not disclose any of that. They blatantly lie to your face and trick you in order to get you to accept it , I was given the runaround on the phone trying to get this resolved and kept getting hung up on. I’m asking that Vivint take it all away and drop all of the charges. I will not be paying them another cent! They are scammers and liars! I would absolutely give -0 stars if I could!
Do better Vivint! You’re ruining peoples lives. And don’t try to tell me that it’s ’not That deep’ it is infact very deep! They have lied and scammed way too many people.
