This is the first company I have ever written a review about if that tells you anything about how they are. I was very happy with them at the house I was renting, so when I bought my own home, I wanted Vivint in my new house as well. The technician that was supposed to do the installation kept coming at times outside of the open window. Instead of calling me since I wasn't there waiting for him, he left a note saying he had been there. I finally gave up on him and tried to get them to cancel my account. The customer service rep said they needed my cancelation in writing. I wrote an email saying everything that had happened, their response was for me to call customer service. Finally, I just got my bank to cut their access to my checking account. Last month, I found out they sent my account to a shady collection agency in *****, that also averages a 1-star review. I had my account way longer than necessary to pay off the equipment, and I lost money because I had to keep paying for the service I couldn't use while all of this was going on. Somehow in their eyes I still owe them money.

Vivant who sells security systems is horrible!! Do not, I repeat do not do business with this company! They treat their customers like dirt, and they railroad senior citizens to death! My neighbor had opened up an account with them and decided quickly that their system wasn't what she wanted at all had my husband unistall the equipment and she then tried to cancel the account they drug her out just long enough to get her in a position where she is now owing them a cancelation fee on top of another month's service after 3 phone calls and 3 emails in over a months time of her trying to cancel it. They are just wrong!

Vivint is the Biggest scam ever! Make it hard to cancel monitoring service! Want to make you continue paying till THEY APPROVE YOUR CANCELLATION! They dont service the equipment until youve serviced it yourself and fail. Then they will schedule you a tech in 3 weeks to a month. Then you have no security that they charge you for. Run from this Vivint Security Absolutely the worst company!

Vivint does not have the customer in mind. I canceled my service a few years ago, removed the equipment, and moved to a new home. I was getting charged monthly for the rental fee for the equipment from Citizens. This made sense since there was a balance when I canceled, so I didn't think anything of it. However, I called Citizens to see how much was left and they said I have been at a zero balance for a while and must be Vivint charges. I called Vivint and they told me they never canceled my account, just "removed my equipment." So they have been charging me this whole time. They claim that they need a special email stating certain information so they can officially cancel my account. I don't care what their policy is, when I called 2 years ago, no one said or sent me anything stating I needed to send them the required information. They should have canceled the account at that very moment. I don't trust them, nor should you.

We have had the worst customer service experience we have ever had trying to work with Vivint. We were in need of a new home security system and met with a door to door rep in the hopes of getting a new system with Vivint for around the same price we currently paid with ADT. After meeting we walked away feeling great. Our bill was going to be about the same as it had been, we had 30 days to try out the new system and make sure we liked it, and Vivint was going to take care of all the cancellation process for ADT to make it seamless. None of that ended up being true. The sales rep lied to us about the pricing, the time we had to cancel, and the process to cancel ADT. This was only the beginning of the dissapointment as well. Once our account became active on the app (A few hours after signing up) I reviewed the pricing and noticed that the price was not what I had agreed on with the sales rep, this was of course frustrating and we wanted to cancel immediately. The only saving ***** was that we had a friend who posted on ******** that weekend that they worked for Vivint and could help get friends and family discounts. We decided to call on Monday (we signed up on a Saturday) to talk with customer care to just switch our account to the friends and family discount and we would save money and be done with it. After talking to the customer care rep they advised us not to cancel our account and that they would get it worked out to switch us to the friends and family. Long story short it has now been two months, nobody has ever called us back. We have called countless times trying to get help and we are now being told we are out of the cancellation period and we also can't get the friends and family discount. Terrible business practice and they have very bad internal customer care processes. We want to be done but it looks like it will take legal action on our end to get this resolved now...

Their sales tactics are too aggressive, my wife and I both told the vivint sales person no numerous times even telling him we had to go due to our dinner order being ready and he would not leave. Each time suggesting five more min. We still kept telling him no we could not afford the subscription. He wouldn't take no for an answer. Finally an hour after our food order was ready we finally agreed to try Vivint after he assured us we could cancel any time that there was no contract. We were just so frustrated and exhausted from him that we gave in. We signed up with the full intent on cancelling the service before they even showed up to install. To our surprise they were there to install within 10 min of him leaving our house. We didn't even have time to eat our food before they showed up. We ate our cold dinner while they installed the system. Well forward a month bc we decided to try the system since they drilled holes all over our home during the install, I called to cancel the service only to find out it's a 60 month contract and I have to pay half just to cancel! That's not even for the equipment that's a whole separate finance company! I feel scammed and bullied into getting a system I didn't even want in the first place. This company is not friendly at all. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Now our credit is going to be ruined since I'm not paying these crooks a dime.

System equipment does not work and now they want to charge $1,000 for early cancellation. I am reporting Vivint to the Aiken Better Business Bureau and turn the problem over to my attorney. This should be a class action case.

Vivint does bad business. Recently, I had a Vivint smart security system installed. The sales person informed me of the 30 day trial, which is the only reason for the getting the home security system with Vivint The trial period ended Aug 4, 2024 (Sunday). Their customer service center is closed on a Sunday. I called to cancel August 5, 2024. The customer service representative informed me that I could not cancel my service, unless I paid for the equipment in full. This is one day from end of trial period, and the organization is closed on a Sunday. I asked to speak with a supervisor, and got put on hold numerous times to not ever speak with a supervisor. The Vivint customer service representatives would not ***** my request due to being out of trial period after one day (Vivint customer care not open on Sundays). Absolutely, horrible business practice, and service.

I contracted with Vivint to change my security service from Brinks Home, after extreme pressure from the Vivint salesman. I was promised that all sensors and devices that were presently active on my system would be operative on my new system. My chief need was for a security camera and a new video doorbell. These were installed. I was also promised an added water leak sensor. However, since, against my wishes, the installer came late in the evening and I am 80 years old, I didn't evaluate what was done until the following morning. It turned out in addition to these cameras I was charged for a new smoke detector, which I already had a new door lock, and a water sensor. What was not included in the new system were 3 glass break sensors, 3 window sensors, my existing smoke detector, a carbon dioxide detector, a furnace thermostat, a door sensor. I did not receive the water sensor. Instead the tech installed a second door sensor on the door that already had one on it, which he failed to include. In addition he installed a new door lock and told me my old one didn't work, even though it worked fine for me. When I discovered all this I immediately exercised my rite of recision on the contract. It has been almost a week, and I have heard nothing from the company about canceling the contract and uninstalling and picking up the equipment. I did call to inquier about this but the individual I talked to could not help. He promised someone would call the next day. That of course didn't occur.

Vivint is a deceptive business that protects themselves only. I had no idea of their lengthy contract, which is for 4-5 years. If you secured a loan with them but, don't use it, you are still responsible for paying a monthly fee. This is pure greed. They want you to keep paying them, even if you no longer want their services. They make it extremely difficult to get from out of their notorious contract. Also, their monthly fee increases 3-4 times a year, while you don't receive any additional service.
