1 starI have been with this company since 09/2020. I regretted my decision a few months into signing their contract and too late to cancel. The cameras need to be restarted on a regular basis, once every couple of months. We have been on vacation and our cameras need to be reset so we get no service, security, monitor of our home until we get back. We have the door opener device and it too malfunctions when away from home at times. it has really been a huge disappointment having this company to service our home. Our doorbell recently stopped working, im very familiar with rebooting and troubleshooting their devices by now and have not been able to get this one to work again. called customer service and they too couldnt help. They tried to charge me $99 to get a tech to come in OR sign up to a monthly protection service and all work and equipment would be covered for that monthly fee. I just need to replace the doorbell camera. i tried to buy a camera and replace it myself but i HAVE to have their technician come and replace the non working doorbell for a $99 fee of course. This company is a joke. The quality of the cameras are sub standard. I have a mesh system with 500bps installed that covers my entire home and perimeter without a problem so they cant say its my internet coverage. I honestly wish i had NEVER singed up with this company. DO NOT GET THEIR SERVICE it is THRASH!Review fromNateba M

1 starThe app is always buffering and/or does not work. Our cameras don't load most of the time or they send an area code when trying to load. Constantly we complain to customer service about the errors and are taken through vigorous steps for them to try to figure out what the problem is, only to find out that it is a problem with their equipment. They made me pay for service coverage for them to come out and fix issues with their own equipment, even after I was told at installation that we would not have to pay for service if it was found to be something with their equipment. I wanted to cancel the service due to false information and constant problems, but was told I could not because of a contract. I am constantly paying monthly fees for a service the very seldom works.Review fromDynasty H

1 star****** ***** came to my home on July 15th to install cameras, when clearly I was in a rush because I was running out the house when he knocked. He then proceeded to just give him few minutes for him to tell me about their services, which I did. Few minutes turned into 3 hours including the tech coming out to install cameras. ****** first told me he could give me 7 day trial to check it out to see if I liked system ND I told him I will be gone for some time so that's ok, I didn't wanna get it and not like it. He then asked how many days would I need to see if I liked. I said 7 days not long enough to see if anyone liked it so 30 days. He said yea I can arrange that. He rushed me into signing 50 papers on tablet before then telling me that if I didn't like it in that time, he would reach out and I could cancel with no cost to me. On August 6th, I reached out to him and said I didn't want the service anymore but he never replied. I then called Viviant myself on 8th and they were closed so I called on 12th and 13th to cancel which they then told me ****** told them he gave me a 3 DAY TRIAL ?? LIKE IF I TOLD U 7 DAYS WASN'T ENOUGH TIME HOW IS 3 DAYS. He kept saying how honorable man he was and he was Christian but how could u do that? All those papers he sent to me now says third business days to decide. I'm so upset and now they say I can't get out this contract. ****** is not a honorable ********* man at all. Do NOT SET UP EQUIPMENT WITH HIM or neither of them. Then it took my credit score down almost 100 points. Hard inquiry on report RUNNNNNN AND SHUT DOOR WHEN U SEE THEM COMING. TREAT THEM LIKE JEHOVAH WITNESS?????????????? A HUGE RIP OFFFFReview fromJamie S

1 starIf I could give negative stars I would. This company contacted me about setting up a home security service with them. In order to receive general information of their services offered they wanted to set up an account profile for me. Once started I was informed I had at least 6 different names and phone numbers listed at my address in which I am the primary and sole resident. They claimed they could not remove any of the other names from my account - none of which were even prior residents of the address. I then received multiple additional calls from several different numbers claiming to be Vivint Smart Home Security. All calls were asking for other random names at my phone number and the company refused to remove the other names from my number or even transfer me to a supervisor. A customer service representative then hung up on me without transferring me to her supervisor. Worst company I have ever interacted with.Review fromChris C

1 starI was a loyal customer for 5 years. Never missed a payment. I moved and the first thing I asked was if my new home was in a servicable location, I was told unequivocably YES. I then went through with the entire setup process, paid in full for $4000 worth of equipment, they even did a hard pull on my credit report for a $4000 credit line which was approved. Now I am told my new home is in a "relocation area," I have already been waiting 2 months for an install, and was just told today it could be another 2-6 months before they can install the new equipment that has been paid for. Mind you I moved a mere 45 minutes away from my old home. To cancel my contract, I was told I would have to pay thousands. I just hired an attorney today. DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE I DID AND TRUST THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE UNSCRUPULOUS, UNPROFESSIONAL, AND OUT RIGHT DISHONEST. BEWARE!!!Review fromChakira T

1 starThe reason why I gave it one star rating is due to fact the that the cancellation is on a 3 days base only instead of 30. I've been lie to by 3 or more employees by calling asking them to cancel my account. I called citizen bank and they confirmed that if I were to cancel with Vivint I wouldn't have to pay citizen bank nothing at all. I was also told by the door salesman that my credit wouldn't be affected in anyway, but after a couple days my score droppedReview fromKatherine S

1 starWe have had Vivint since August 2022 and were paying about $55/month to Citizen Pay for the equipment and then $31/month to Vivint for monitoring totaling an amount of about $86/month. In January 2024 a sales **** **** ******, from Vivint showed up at my door offering me a "free" upgrade to better, more state-of-the-art cameras, lights and motion detectors. I asked many questions including how this would affect our current monthly payments. I told him what we were paying the $86/month total and he told me that the monitoring fee would go down and that we would actually end up paying less per month. I confirmed this with him several times, because this was the only way I would consider going forward with the upgrade. He confirmed that would be the case so I thought that was a no brainer and we moved forward with upgrading our exterior cameras. After several months I realized that I have 2 credit cards that are being used to pay Vivint. So I now have the monitoring fee of $43.14 which went up from the original amount plus an additional equipment charge per month to Citizens Pay of $25.26. So I am paying over $120/ month obviously NOT less than I was paying I contacted **** ****** and asked him about this. He said hed look into it. I had to contact him several times and he texted me and said yes maam theres an error in the system thats been double and over charging customers. Theyre going to give you a refund within next 3-5 days. And a $15 credit on your next bill for the inconvenience this was a text he sent to me. Of course, this never happened.Last communication I had from **** ****** was May 30th and then radio silence I called Vivint and the person at Vivint explained that I now had 2 equipment charges and then the monitoring fee and the only way this could end would be if I paid off the equipment charges so no help there! But this is an absolute disgrace and I have no idea how Vivint is allowed to get away with this scam!!Review fromApril K

1 starWorst company ever, I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. Had a system installed and was told it would be no problem to have the system moved to a new location free of charge. had no problem with the system until I called to have it moved to my new location. Now I have to pay almost $300, and its suddenly a problem for them to move the system. I've been waiting for a month now. **************** is horrible also, instead of finding a solution to the problem, they trying to get me to buy more merchandise, just awful.Review fromBennie B

1 starSalesman *** ****, is nothing but a con artist. He sold us a security system, promising that the equipment would be free. We wound up being charged for both monitoring and the equipment, while not disclosing that this is a five year agreement(contract). The first bill just came in the mail a week after it was due. *** ****, as well as Vivint is nothing more than a scam.Review fromDavid R

1 starI was a customer for ten years. They sent an update to my system which crippled two of my cameras. No notification that something like that would happen. So I agree for new cameras. Then their technician lied and said no one was home. Then canceled the appointment. The door camera bell luckily still works. Shows nobody coming to my door. Plus Im retired and my wife works from home. Trying to cancel. My contract already ended. They want 30days to cancel so they can charge me for another month. Even though *** already disconnected the system. Im now with ***. Do notI repeat DO NOT Do Business with Vivint!!!
