      We are moving away and will not be using any sort of security system because we are renting. They said they are going to charge us about $53/month for the next 4 years for the service even though we won't even have the service. We will have no equipment at all. Is that legal?They are providing no service whatsoever, but we are required to pay them anyway? If we just don't pay them, I don't see how it could affect our credit, since we aren't refusing to pay back borrowed money. We are just planning on refusing to pay since they aren't providing any service. This is truly a dishonest and vile company.

      Previously signed with Vivint in 2014 w/contract until 8/2018. No records anymore for this time period. During that time, I had issues w/system: false alarms to the tune of fire at my home. No smoke alarms w/package. Alarm came up on phone while I was traveling. Many issues at that time and couldn't get wait to cancel. 12/2022 had system connected again due to issues in neighborhood. W/O CONTRACT. FYI hearing disability and senior. 1/2023 went to disarm system and panel was blank and app wouldn't work. Contacted tech support and of course, foreign rep. ******* my situation. I'm 5 days out from major foot surgery. She wanted me to reboot system. I'm short, 77 years old and on crutches. I couldn't climb on stool. I begged for help to shut off system. Asked several times asking to deactivate the system. Finally, she contacted someone with authority. New panel installed by tech. 3/23 foreign rep called. Again, difficulty understanding these foreign reps. He's offering $7.85/Mo off and that was great. What I didn't understand it came with a 3/yr. contract. Never would have agreed. In October 2023 I had two false intrusion alarms: early evening and after midnight. Scary to a senior living alone. 2/22/24 called Vivint to price two cameras. $2000. No way. I needed cameras. 3/23rd called to cancel as of 3/24 and was informed I was in contract. NO WAY. I said I would pay for March only. Credit Card billed late February and was taken off before it posted so I thought everything was done. Canceled credit card. Now past due notices. 4/22/24 I sent certified letter of cancelation along w/check $42.14 to Provo, UT. and not accepted as of today. Threatening to turn me over for collection and I have excellent credit rating. I can't reach anyone w/authority in *****. I have to jump through hoops with Philippine representatives and get nowhere. Many conversations. Held for 1:20 min for supervisor in Provo. and finally hung up. Service and equipment unreliable. Poor customer service.

      Please do NOT trust Vivint Smart Home! I signed up with them back in 2014. I payed off my equipment, and paid for my services, monthly. March of 2022 I canceled my services. I no longer needed them, because I had moved. Vivint continued to take monthly payments automatically out of my account. After numerous calls to customer service, and numerous promises that my refund was being processed...NOTHING was done! Here we are May 2024 and I'm still being told a check was issued but now it was sent to the wrong adderss. Now I have to continue to wait before another check can be issued...All which doesn't make any sense, since they were taking money out of my account AUTOMATICALLY for the last 10yrs! Vivint likes to take money out of innocent people's accounts, but doesn't like to refund anything, even when they are provided wrong! STAY FAR FAR AWAY FROM VIVINT!!!!!! THEY WILL ROB YOU!!!!

      Our experience with Vivint, in conjunction with their recommended partner Freedom Forever for our solar panel installation, has been extremely disappointing and frustrating. Vivint initially recommended Freedom Forever for the installation, but has since failed to provide any meaningful support as issues have compounded.Initial Recommendation and Lack of Follow-Up: Vivint recommended Freedom Forever for our solar panel installation. However, when significant issues arose, including unauthorized installations and property damage, Vivint has been noticeably absent from any resolution process.Unresolved Property Damage: Despite Vivint's involvement from the start, they have not assisted in addressing or resolving the $3,600 in property damage caused during the installation process, which has been unresolved since August 2023.Lack of Coordination and Communication: There has been a significant lack of coordination between Vivint and Freedom Forever, which has exacerbated the issues, including non-compliance with local energy regulations and unauthorized system operation.Resolution Sought: We urge Vivint to take responsibility in coordinating with Freedom Forever to address and resolve these issues promptly. We expect Vivint to facilitate the necessary communications and actions to repair the property damage, ensure compliance with energy regulations, and provide a clear resolution pathway.

      Ill try and keep this short. I am disappointed in the lack of professionalism. I have told every person that has called, which comes to 4 as of today, that I did not want to use their services. I had previously signed up with them but decided to do differently. Under no contract, they canceled. This last call was the last straw as instead of meaning to call me, they were aiming to call my wife. I can deal with these things myself easily, however it was wildly inappropriate to call my wife about this issue. At this point I consider what theyve been doing harassment. Steer clear of this company.

      Awful the worst customer service ever!!!! I have trying to close my account, due to a move and they keep billing every month...always an excuse and never a resolution. I have in writing that the account has been satisfied and still the bills keep coming!!!!!! STAY AWAY!!! They are thieves and liars and prey on senior (which I am one of). Do not get involved with these people in ANY way!!! I wish i could give them no stars. *********************************************************************** ************

      I’m being held hostage by this company I have canceled my service with them numerous times. I no longer live at the address in question. I have paid cancellation fee of 235.69 and submitted at email for cancellation that will take 30 days. I have tried to cancel service since Feb and I’ve been charged three payments 47.07 twice and 45.04. These practices are vicious.Buyer beware

      DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. The customer service is horrendous. The equipment is junk and you pay an obscene amount of money for c*** that doesn't work more than half the time. I moved 3 years ago and had to leave it behind because when I asked to have someone come out and remove it so I could take it with me since I was still paying for it. I was told, "We don't do that. You have to remove it if you want it." So, I'd have big holes in the walls with wires sticking out. So, I had to leave the equipment and have continued to pay over $120 every month for a service and equipment I don't have access to and can't use. The end of March I'd had enough and called Citizens, a sister company of Vivint to get the payoff to be done with it. I'm given a number and I pay it immediately. I then call Vivint, tell them I've paid off Citizens for the crapoy equipment I haven't had for 3 years. They said, let me confirm you paid it off. They did that and said ok, it will take 30 days to finalize closing the account. Didn't make sense to me but ok, I'm done with you. Now, May 1st, over 30 days since I paid it off, I'm getting phone calls that I am behind in my payment to Vivint. WHAT? So, Vivint gets Citizens on the phone and the proceed to tell me, oops the customer service person you spoke to in March made a mistake and you still owed an additional monthly payment. Well, guess what? That's not my problem. I was given a dollar amount as the payoff and that's what I paid. You figure it out. I've paid more than $5000 for crappy equipment that I don't have, more than $2,000 for for a service I have not used in 3 years. And now, Citizens wants almost $70 after I paid over $5,000. And Vivint will continue to bill me for services I do not receive until Citizens closes the account that should have been closed over 5 weeks ago. Neither of these companies know what they are doing other than taking money for lousy to nonexistent service and equipment that does not work as promised. STAY AWAY!

      Worst system and customer service hands down. You basically pay them for the system, monitoring and to fix it because the customer service is virtual with video links to "fix" your system which aren't helpful unless you're changing a battery. HORRIBLE... DONT DO IT.
