      We moved to 'Texas' from '**********' and signed up the lease for a single-family home. The property management company wanted us to use ********** Services' for setting up ********************** Home Security System and others. We were pitched 'Vivint' for the 'Home Security System' by the **********' and as soon as the installation was done, we were sold a product close to $3000.00 and a payment plan provider 'Fortiva' was assigned to us even before we realized what was happening.We vacated the property after less than '4' months of stay, moved into an apartment to save money for buying a new home sometime this year and reached out to 'Vivint' asking them to stop the service saying that we no longer needed the "Home Protection System' as we were relocating to an apartment, but we were told that the plan has to run for a minimum of '6' months before moving it to a pause state.Four things to be noted here:1. The property management company connived with concierge services.2. The concierge services connived with 'Vivint'.3. Sold a product worth $3000.00 (according to them in a span of 4 hours on the day of installation).4. Why would a tenant who does not own a house, knows that he will have to relocate every now and then to a new place buy an equipment in the first place and opt for finance. 5. If this isn't a scam then god knows what is.

      The vivint app is very slow. No matter how good my connection is. Half the time the cameras will not pull up the feed and if they do, there is a good possibility there will be no sound. Playback almost never works. It will either buffer endlessly, play the feed very choppy, or once again no sound. This has been an issue for over 2 years and I'm locked in a 5 year equipment contract. In the contract, we aren't allowed to cancel unless we buy out all the equipment which is thousands of dollars instead of Vivint just coming and taking the equipment back. I can't even cancel the vivint monitoring service and just continue to pay the equipment off seperately. They make you keep the monitoring service as long as you owe on the equipment which is absolutely insane!Imagine financing a car and you pay $200 a month for someone to come do an inspection of the engine for preventative measures. Later, you decide you don't want the car but understand you still have to pay your car payment regardless but you dont want someone to come look at your engine anymore. Then they tell you, as long as you don't own the car, you HAVE to continue to pay for this inspection you don't even want. How insane does that sound?This is a monthly service that is paid seperately from the equipment. Why can I not cancel a service I don't want to use anymore but continue to pay for the equipment?I can assure you everyone I talk to, I steer them very far from Vivint. Whatever money they are making off of me in this monthly monitoring fee, I assure you they are losing in recommendations when others are shopping for a security system.

      When the salesman for Vivint appeared at my door in 2021, I was preparing to sell my home and thought that adding a security system would be beneficial. The salesman told me that I could purchase Vivint equipment, sell it with the home, and then I would receive the same equipment at my next home free of charge. Being naive at the time, I thought it was a great deal and took it. Fast forward to when I sold my home, I tried to transfer the equipment to the new owners, but was notified for months of their alarm system until both the buyers and me got Vivint to change the settings, but it appears they did not actually set up a new account for the buyers. When I went to cancel my Vivint services, I was told I could not due to the young age of my account, but they could freeze the services for a few months. Now that I am finally cancelling the account, they informed me it would be up to 30 days before my account is cancelled. This is appalling and I will tell everyone that this company is a scam.

      Our equipment has blender worked correctly and they wont let me cancel nor will they replace the equipment. They keep sending technicians out who state that it was installed incorrectly but they cant do anything about it.

      The system worked fine but when we tried to cancel it became a nightmare. We had to pay off the loan before they would let us turn off the monitoring service (we were moving) so I had to come up with $1000 cash just to stop paying the alarm monitoring monthly charge. Then it took literally HOURS on the phone, multiple emails, and they never actually shut the service down. The new homeowners accidentally set off the alarm and didnt have access to turn it off. Now its been 3 months since I moved and IM STILL BEING BILLED FOR MONITORING. Every time I call they say everything is fine and the service has been disconnectedand then I get billed again. I dont believe its poor service anymore. I think its a strategy to get as much money as possible. Most people dont have hours to sit on hold, being transferred from department to department. I would never do business with them again and I would warn everyone I know to stay away.

      I had three Vivint sellers ring my doorbell within the last couple of weeks because they saw my ADT sign in my yard. On May 27, 2024, the third seller came I reluctantly gave the company a try, and during this process, I was told that they were running my credit to see if I would be approved for the equipment. I was not made aware that I was getting approved for a loan from a third-party company. I also did not like the installation of the equipment. I came across reviews of many people who say that this company scam. I called about cancelling my account and they told me to send a notice of cancellation to an email. I have called multiple times as well as contacted my seller to see if they can send someone out to uninstall my equipment before my first monthly payment. I was constantly told to just email and they will respond in 48 hours or as soon as possible and I have yet to get a response.

      Sadly 1 star is the lowest I can give but they definitely deserve less than that.Tried to upgrade our security equipment and they told us one price sent papers over then when they came to install we had to turn them away because they brought an invoice for over $800 and would not follow the original papers they sent us. Follow up to June 2024 we tried to cancel our account and we got told it is in review and could take up to 30 days for the account to be canceled instead of the day we requested for it to be shut off. So even when you want to cancel they still charge you their monthly service fee until they decide they want to cancel it.

      I was promised a customer buy out and ********************** will not send it to me. They're liars. I have contacted my local new station and they'll be doing a story on this....be careful what they promise you. I have taken with their loyalty department 3 times and nobody calls me back.

      This company is a scam!!! If it sounds to good to be true, it is! We were promised a 30 day trial period. In less than a week we decided we did not want the system because it had issues and we have been through h*** since because they refuse to remove the system from our home. Now Im going to have to pursue legal action. This company has zero integrity! I dont know how these people sleep at night. I would give zero stars if I could. RUN!

      Trick you into signing up and runs your credit without being authorized, charges way to much and will not let you cancel their service. I've never ever had any service that will not let you cancel.
