Do not sign a contract with Vivint and think you can ever get out. I owe them no money nor do I own any of their equipment. Completed the full contract term and continued to use their monitoring service until we decided to move. Thought I could just call and cancel but they make that as hard as possible and I am still not sure I was sucessful. Here is my advice if you want to cancel 1. Be prepared to listen to awful hold music for at least 15 minutes each time you call. you will be calling multiple times because they will drop your call at least once during the process.2. Do not get talked into a 'Deferment' where they tell you that they will just hold on to your account and in a year restart it without losing some vivint good points or other bull to keep you hooked because if you try to Cancel while in 'Deferment', well that's just not allowed. And deferment for what? It's just a ploy to make you have to remember to go through the entire cancellation process again in a year.3. Stay firm. I was told over and over about their process but my process is that at the end of a contract, I should be able to leave... s**** your process, that means nothing to me. Their process was for me to send an email requesting cancellation and my reason and they will generate a bill (for what I don't know) but she said they would graciously comp me. I really don't care as long as I dont have to pay money and not charge me but I doubt that is what is going to happen. Its just so clearly a scam.

I was a customer with ******************** and moved before my contract was up. They wanted to charge me to take down and re install my equipment at a location 4 doors down. Long story short. I paid for the service on a house I no longer lived in, paid offf the equipment and when I called to cancel in Jan 2024 i was never told I needed to email a request so the following month I was charged. I called again and they informed me of the proper way to cancel. I sent an email merch 4 and from march 4 till jun 10 I am still getting charged and because this account is not one I use I dont keep funds in it and it continues to charge me overdraft fees due to vivint continuing to charge me even though I cancelled. I would like my money back for the months I was charged after I cancelled and the 25 overdraft for each month. Please help me cancel my service. Ive called several times and no one seems to help me. Im a working mother who just wants this situation handled.

If I could leave less than 1 star I would. The customer service rep is the only reason Id give any stars to Vivint. We had a sales tech come to our home around 6pm and offer a promotional rate that we could try for free for three days before committing to anything. He said the tech would be by that day to install, the tech did not arrive until after 10pm, was on the phone with other customers and seemed distracted while he was here, he was very kind but I found him to be quite unprofessional, he didnt finish until around 1:30am. The automatically locks have not worked properly, Im not sure if its because he was ******* and didnt want to finish the work or what have you but he told me to have my husband carve out a piece of our strike plate so the lock would work properly. We decided that wed like to just remove the system entirely within the 3 day period so the original sales tech came back and was very rude and uninformative and left without even so much as offering to help us cancel. The only saving ***** was when I did get into contact with the customer service department they were very apologetic and got our account cancelled promptly, we are still awaiting a tech to come and remove the equipment.

I reached out to Vivint because my system that I had for 7 years was having some issues with my doorbell camera and my sensor. They sent a tech out but could not do anything because my system was old and not compatible to their new system. A few weeks later my doorbell camera fell off the wall and they wanted to charge me for over $300.00 just for a new camera but the camera was not compatible to the hub. At that time id did not agree to anything. A few weeks later I decided to call to see how much a new hub and doorbell camera would cost. I was told that they could offer me those two pieces of equipment for $800.00. I asked if i could pay cash for it since I had been a customer for 7 years. I was told no I had to use their financing. When I asked if I could think about it and call back the next day, I was told the offer was only good as long as I was on the call. He insisted on doing a soft pull of my credit report and he came back with a credit limit of $3000.00. I decided to go ahead and take the deal and the installer came out the next day and when he gave me the papers to sign the total cost was $1350.00 instead of the $850.00. I tried to call while the installer was at my home, but I could not understand customer service ********** told me they could only discount my monthly fee by the amount they would credit due to being over charged for the life of the loan so it would still look like I owed them $1350.00 plus tax. While the installer was at my house, he told me they do take cash. Installation on Friday. I called on Monday to return the system. Told I had to pay a contract cancellation fee of $1800.00 for early termination. I didn't sign a contract since I am not a new customer. Stuck in a new contract like a new customer. The financing that they forced me to take dropped my credit score 58 points because they show I have a line of credit for $3000.00 and I wanted to pay with cash so it would not affect my credit score.

So a sales rep. from this Vivint company stop by yesterday and some how convince my spouse to sign a contract late at night for the camera system, didnt know Vivint was going to do hard credit check and have a loan open up for the security system. What company does business late at 10pm. No respect. We decided to call and cancel right the next morning and the sale rep. stop by again this morning, ******** and was being very intimidating and was very rude. Kept asking why we cancel and gave us a hard time. Im so glad we didnt go ahead with them, if this is how they treat you up front, who knows how they will treat you when something happens down the road. The conversation that I had with the sale rep today left me very uneasy like a threat that something can happen. Plus I had read that there was a lawsuit against this company.

A rep came by our home at night soliciting services for this company ( Vivint) My husband, who is elderly spoke with the guy who was very persistent about this security system. Anyway, my husband decided to give this system a try and was told that it was a 30 day trial if we didnt like it. The guy started that same night on May 24th about 9:30, 10:00 pm with the install. Anyway, the final installation was on May 28th. We discovered several days later that we were not satisfied with this system, cameras not recording images, when trying to go live the system continues to buffer which causes a security issue if youre trying to screen or record. Cameras do not pick up movement even after manually setting the sensitivity level to the highest level, its a delay too long to detect a threat. After contacting customer service on June 6th, we were told that in order to cancel, we would have to pay $1900 or have the person who initiated this service to verify the verbal 30 day trial basis statement. Upon contacting this person (*****) and informing him of our concerns and desire to cancel, it appeared that his only concern was losing his job and not our dissatisfaction. He assured us that he would look into this matter and contact us back shortly and we never received a call back. Its amazing how this company can have people going door to door with an aggressive sales pitch who installs that very day/night but when there are complaints, you cant get any resolution. We are not satisfied with the company and there are several neighbors who have signed up based upon seeing the sign in my yard, who are unhappy with this same security system. My husband is on a fixed income and disabled and we are unable to pay this ridiculous cancellation fee and feel that it was false advertisement due to being told that we had a month to decide to keep the service. How can a person determine the quality of something within 2-5 business days? DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS. Seeking legal aid

I do not have Vivint. I live in ********, ****. A door to door sales rep came to my house. I told him I was not interested. He became very hostile and would not leave my porch. I asked him multiple times to leave or I would call the police and he would not. This is harassment.

This place is a freaking joke. They can not keep there amounts straight at all on what we owe. We owed one partial payment of ****** and then the monthly montering service of ***** dollars. Somehow they decided we owe them 570 and change. One minute it's 340 dollars next minute it's 570. They can make up there mind. How are we supposed to pay them if they can't make up there mind what we owe. Up to me id tell them to come get there piece off s*** cameras and all the other crop we have but it's in my wife's name. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY WHAT SO EVER

We moved to 'Texas' from '**********' and signed up the lease for a single-family home. The property management company wanted us to use ********** Services' for setting up ********************** Home Security System and others. We were pitched 'Vivint' for the 'Home Security System' by the **********' and as soon as the installation was done, we were sold a product close to $3000.00 and a payment plan provider 'Fortiva' was assigned to us even before we realized what was happening. We vacated the property after less than '4' months of stay, moved into an apartment to save money for buying a new home sometime this year and reached out to 'Vivint' asking them to stop the service saying that we no longer needed the "Home Protection System' as we were relocating to an apartment, but we were told that the plan has to run for a minimum of '6' months before moving it to a pause state.Four things to be noted here:1. The property management company connived with concierge services.2. The concierge services connived with 'Vivint'.3. Sold a product worth $3000.00 (according to them in a span of 4 hours on the day of installation).4. Why would a tenant who does not own a house, knows that he will have to relocate every now and then to a new place buy an equipment in the first place and opt for finance. 5. If this isn't a scam then god knows what is.
