The leasing office was incredibly rude to me on the move in of my daughter. I spoke with a man who talked over the top of me. They lost everything we sent them and then on top of that no man should treat a woman as I was treated this a.m.

Prior to Greystar management taking over the Bela in Jersey City was really nice. Since the took over they gutted the staff to barebones, packages went missing since the concierge position was eliminated, and building managers seem to come and go. That being said we left over 6 months ago and still have not received the refund for our security deposit which seems to be a trend on many forums when it comes to Greystar run buildings. I wouldn't put any deposit money down with them and have any expectation of ever receiving it back when you leave. Unfortunately, it seems we'll have to sue them if we ever want to see our money returned.

Unfortunately I can’t put in a maintenance request for the upstairs apartment that’s been leaking congaing so much blk mold my ceilings about to fall through-
I’ve been kicked out of the office
They illegally added my oldest son on my lease to raise my bills when he didn’t live here

      An everything was current
      Which I have proof of
They illegally went into my mailbox
Going through my mail to see who I was receiving mail for then severed me with a eviction
Stating i was receiving mail for last name Garza
Which is a name I no longer carry but still received mail for on occasion
They have done nothing but try to intimidate me with threats of eviction
I pay for a garage they had the electrician fixing

My roommate and I moved out of Greystar-managed apartments and were told we need to pay over 3K in damages. We have lived there for 10 years. Dealt with our upstairs neighbors flooding the apartment multiple times and a burst water pipe causing severe water damage. Maintenance was lackluster and rarely fixed anything. Greystar is trying to make us pay for damages we did not cause and are the result of negligent maintenance on their part. Stay far away!

Greystar is trash. Of course they are not accredited by the BBB. I had some major car trouble and luckily reached out and was able to accept help from a charity to pay June rent. I emailed the office and the charity emailed and it's been since the 12th of May and Greystar has REFUSED to provide updated W9 form! At this point I won't be able to pay rent because of them. I guess it's time to call the lawyer and sue.

Greystar: Predatory, Unethical, and Under Federal Lawsuit
Greystar is not just a negligent landlord—they are a corporate predator operating under the illusion of professionalism while exploiting tenants nationwide. They are currently being sued in a federal class action lawsuit (Case No. 25CV1090 AGS BLM, filed 4/29/25 in the Southern District of California) for deceptive rent practices, hidden fees, and widespread tenant abuse.
Their business model prioritizes profit over people. They employ unlicensed property managers, ignore health and safety violations, and fail to enforce their own lease policies—including in federally subsidized or student housing. When tenants report issues like mold, secondhand drug exposure, or discrimination, Greystar retaliates instead of resolving.
Rather than respond in good faith, Greystar escalates complaints by hiring *******, ***** & *** **** LLP, a firm known for sending aggressive, baseless legal threats designed to silence tenants and intimidate those who assert their legal rights.
Greystar has been linked to rent-gouging schemes involving ********, an algorithm now under DOJ scrutiny for driving up housing prices across the country.
Do not rent from Greystar. Their conduct is not only unethical—it’s dangerous. If you are a tenant experiencing retaliation, gaslighting, or toxic conditions, know that you are not alone. Greystar is under investigation because tenants spoke out. Keep records, contact tenant rights groups, and protect yourself.

I lived at ******** in Dallas. I moved out 3/31/25. I was told someone would contact me regarding closeout. I had to contact them renewed after move out. Then I was told I would get an email with instructions for direct deposit for my security deposit. Now I cant get anyone to talk to me regarding this issue. Texas law require rental property management to return security within 30 days. That didnt happen.

Corrupt. They do not return calls after numerous voicemails. They will give you the run around just to avoid logging disputes and then will turn around and report yout account to collections.

One year ago I submitted an application to move in to Verano Homes. I was told verbally by the property manager that if I was approved for a "co-signer" via The Guarantors, then my application with Verano would be approved. I paid $1,500 for the co-signer program and was approved. When I came to Verano with my approval they denied my application. It took multiple phone calls and emails and several months to receive my refund from the Guarantors due to my denied application with Verano. I continue to receive emails from Verano stating my application is unfinished and overdue. I've called and emailed multiple times within the last 12 months and asked that my application is closed and canceled. I have been ignored and hung up on. I have attempted to contact Verano and Greystar with no success.
