1 starGreystar does NOT compensate apartment locators. I am an ***************** who referred my client to **************** apartments located in *******, ** in July of 2022. It is now Jan 31, 2023 and I have not been compensated for my transaction. This property is **************** located in ******* ** After a series of emails I've been given the "run around" from the property manager and associates and 7 months later, delayed responses, lies and no compensation. I've done my part as a locator but parties of **************** apartments and the Greystar team failed to do theirs. Do NOT refer your client to this property, you will NOT get paid.Review fromNatalie H

1 starLots of promises at Citiscape ******* managed by Greystar but very far from a luxury property. The apartments are on the 14th through 23rd floor but they let all four elevators fall into disrepair for over a year. I cant count the number of times I and the other tenants have had to walk up the stairs, carrying our children, pets and groceries because all of the elevators had been allowed to break and they wouldnt pay to repair them. For over a year, and nothing was done. . Im amazed the city hasnt shut them down, considering how many violations that is. Minimal building maintenance and no security. Its on a great location but I lived here for two years 2020-2022 and they talk a good game but then pretend like they cant see all the elevators, door fobs, door locks, swimming pool, spa, and gym are all regularly broken or out of service. They claim someone is always in the lobby or on security patrol but thats not true at all.Review fromPreonna R

1 starSAVE YOURSELF TIME AND TRAUMA AND DO NOT EVER RENT FROM A PROPERTY MANAGED BY GREYSTAR! They are the epitome of lousy lazy and unethical. When my apartment complex was managed by another company I never had any problems with management. As soon as Greystar took over came problem after problem!! New management ***** and is not good at fixing problems or communicating respectfully with residents! Poor attitudes of the workers with nasty attitudes! Molded apartment units, they make new rules not found in the lease almost every week, raising rent over $1,100 since taking over. My rent literally went from $1,363 to $2,515 with no gradual increase just suddenly. Outdated appliances, took over 7 months to fix my stove i literally couldnt cook off my stove because it would shock me every time I tried to turn it on! Changed rules about Patios, cant have nothing on patios no chairs, no plants, literally only air can be there!! The worst experience ever its not even worth it!!! I can literally go on and on but by then I couldve wrote a book!! Save yourself never rent from a property manager by Greystar!Review fromStephanie S

1 starRecently moved into an apartment that is under Greystar Property and by far the worst experience! Ive only been staying at ******** in *********, ** and the property management is terrible! I submitted work orders the first month I moved in and only one request was fulfilled. My door was loose, informed them and received no response. The door needs weather stripping my counter is leaning and the first week staying here the washer flooded because it had not been serviced. My work order for the doors and windows was closed out with no resolution and on 1/16/23, my apartment was broken into and no forced entry. I contacted maintenance the day of and submitted a work order to have my locks changes since the maintenance worker told me they were off for MLK Day. I filed a police report and was informed the apartments should change locks within 24 hours, when they are informed of a breakin without forced entry. Today, is Friday and I literally had to go up to the office and voice my opinion out loud in front of contractors and tenants and a maintenance worker heard me & came to make the changes. However, the property assistant manager *********************** her head at me like I was in the wrong for addressing my safety concerns when my calls, voicemails and work orders have fallen on deaf ears! *** literally complained for 2 months about issues with no response! I would never recommend this property management company! Everyone is too busy to assist and its very concerning especially when my safety is involved.Review fromTenent R

1 starI've been at a ****** campus for 4 years. My current renewal terms is sitting at a 7% increase over last year's rent, overall 13% in the last 4 years. I'm disabled and made my communication needs aware to property management before moving in. The accommodations are also posted to my door. Property management consistently fails to make their communication accessible. I've had to prompt them for the last two lease renewals. Despite having hundreds of units on the property, only one of three laundry facilities is available at any point in time. They switched to an CSC pay program, which is unreliable, making me go months without clean laundry. I had to fight for 2 years to get a parking space in front of my building despite being mandated to pay $10 a month for a parking spot not in front of my building. All of the windows need to be replaced or weatherproofed. Paint started peeling within 6 months of moving in, my oven did not work for several months. They do not follow protocol for covid protections, and if you show concern for the possibility of being infected, they will send you a copy of the lease saying that they can enter your apartment whenever they want or you will be severely fined / evicted and prosecuted for non-compliance. Most recently, they have refused to confirm what contact information and methods they have on file for me. Instead they send me a copy of the ************************************************************ methods of contact. We were never told when building 29 burned down. My car has been broken into twice. They hired new maintenance people, but they won't send photos so we know who they are, and if you are concerned for your safety, they will send you a copy of the lease again, stating that they can enter whenever they want. the contract is written so vaguely, anyone can walk in off the street, knock on the door, and say that they are property management to gain access. It's terrifying.Review fromNeeda B

1 starLived 4 years at ***************************** (apt complex across from ************************************************* Walmart).Last year there neighbors below, SmokesALots, heard moving in. Begins 5 electric guitar sessions daily, ***** mins each between 9 am & 1 am & smoke smells. Plus bldg traps heat.Their Scents:1. cheap perfume, ***************** oil; 2. burnt rope in old stuffy shed; 3. smoke over dry stain wood; 4. stink bomb in chemical manufacturing plant; 5. dryer sheets, harsh mix of cleaners, & stinky hairspray; 6. factory smokestack runoff, *************** oil; 7. body odor & dirty linens; 8. salty air; 9. rotten eggs in hairspray.4 with Assistant Manager or Property Manager title aware of SmokesALots in 2 calls, 9 emails, & 1 of the 4 came to my door to change my HVAC filter in response to email.I sent pic I took of SmokesALots lighting up inside their partially open ******** door. Smells worsened. But needed to send evidence cause ****** denied it was smoke smells & who was responsible.****** Management said best if I transfer to another apt or I get police involved for chemical smells I reported to ****** Management from 1st phone call.Futile, my moving into another room from whence cometh offending smells because Goldilocks-and-Three-Bears nature of way SmokesALots (Madam SmokesALot even looks like Goldilocks) operate means they move .2 males & 2 females connected to car connected to downstairs neighbors' 1 bedroom apt. Some suffocating days I jump on floor, shout thru thin vents at SmokesALots to stop smoking. SmokesALots stop briefly for few days or temporarily adjust scent of whatever they smoke. One jumping day ****** sent me Notice of lease violation, Excessive noise, jumping/stomping after quiet hours.I called 3 with officer in their title: courtesy, ******** City code ************ ********* None came at SmokesALots' time of worst smoking. 1 coming later acknowledged peculiar smell (Scent 4), said hed return to further investigate but never came.Review fromVeronica D

1 starThis place is a scam, my husband and I moved here in December. We werent allowed to see the unit until the day we moved in. The apartment was dirty also bad renovation, we discovered a leak in our dining room and were told it was just wet from carpet cleaning. That was a lie because the next day the carpet was soaked in that corner. They had maintenance come and we were told they would fix it, but they never came. My husband and I took off work and waited, we had to call and visit the office multiple times. They never found the leak, they wanted to open the wall while my family was in the unit to check for leaks. We didnt want them to do that because they werent going to have any mold mediation there. Finally, we asked to be let out of the lease and they agreed. The property manager ***** apologized, but then told me it was not their fault. Do not under any circumstances rent from these people. They are scammers we have yet to get any paperwork concerning our refund, theyre also taking away from our refund for the time that we spent in the unit. As a renter, *** never felt more utterly helpless and taken advantage of. We are currently seeing what our options are legally.Review fromEric B

1 starDo NOT be fooled by the smiles and good cheer when being shown around. Once you sign the rental agreement, you've just signed a deal with the Devil. Greystar is horrible, with a national reputation as a bad landlord. They are disingenuous, outright dishonest. They get away with it because they know most tenants lack the resources, time, courage to fight their relentless chipping away of tenant rights. Are there satisfied Greystar tenants? Of course, but much in the same way there are satisfied *********** customers...as *********** perpetuates MASSIVE fraud on 3.5 million customers. So they pay $185 mil in fines....But Greystar is worse. For they target your quality of life at home. In my situation, my entire building is suffering from stuff that is forcing people to flee their homes or greatly diminishes use, or even puts their health in danger. Whether it be mold, or water coming in from a ceiling they refuse to permanently fix ("We're waiting for the roofer's insurance to handle it") while the problem persists for MONTHS, construction that has gone on for months, so loud that pets are peeing indoors and barking incessantly, where the drilling and pounding and pumping is so loud, people can't work or sleep, and again, have to flee. Yes, they are entitled to make improvements. But they abuse the right, and offer NO consideration on the rent. For example, for several months now, we have lost the use of our patios, laundry facility, view (entire building is encased in thick plastic and scaffolding), had peaceful enjoyment OBLITERATED, etc., and if you dare ask for a few bucks off the rent - because you're still paying for patios, laundry, view, etc. - they either ignore you or tell you, "Too bad. Pay in full."Google Greystar and lawsuits, civil actions, etc. THAT'S who these people are. NOT the smiling people that show you around.Review fromIan F

1 starWe found mold in the bathroom they did a cheap deglaze and told us it wasnt mold we complained when the glaze job has started to peel and bought a do it yourself mold kit to prove it was mold and were told it was our fault for using a bathmat. They raised our lease more than the state maximum allowance and after threat of lawyer were told since we were such good tenets they reconsidered and only raise dot the maximum. The management never returns calls or gets back to you. Their is no recourse.. the lease they sent me which I eventually signed they send e-mails telling me it was broken and said we didnt sign the proper addendums which it doesnt let you not sign. They put things in the lease and charges that dont make sense and then tell you you wont be responsible and you have no option but to sign They force new programs on you that you dont get to opt in or out. Since they want to deliver internet you HAVE to get their package. And I just love getting emails telling me rent hasnt been paid when meant for other people they gave us a package room and yet packages are still scattered in the halls left outside.. and especially around the holidays you get multiple messages for packages that are not there so your not sure if you get everything Ive had to get another POBox to make sure I get important things. If you have a pet they come into your apartment without consent when you try to make arrangements, and when they tell your they are coming and they miss their appointments they just show up and expect to be let in my wife was in the shower and they were expecting to just come in to inspect the fireplace they used to offer lease terms and now the wont let you do anything less than a year without doing month to month (great so now that we are looking to move and didnt get our offer accepted Im stuck here longer). Since I cant do anything someone should heed the warning. If you have the option look elsewhereReview fromJessica S

1 starI just spoke with ************* who informed me that there will be no accommodations made for threats to mine and my daughter's life here at our front door at ***** community.
His LinkedIn says that he has over 25 years in property management, but I guess he is out of touch with customer service and conducting business in an ethical way.
It is absolutely appalling that a tenant who has been through what my daughter and I have cannot get any compensation when we are having to be forced out of our home that we just moved into in March due to safety issues among many others.
I will continue to escalate this issue until someone who has an ethical compass can accommodate the forced move out of my home.
I asked for a month's rent compensation which is a small price to pay for a child's life being threatened, not to mention my life as well.
Who disregards threats to a tenant's life?
