1 starThis apartment complex is baiting and switching residents into their complex. They show an immaculate model and then rent a roach infested dump! The local property manager and Regional Property Manager are non-responsive because it’s not important to them. The assistant property manager’s way to solve the issue was to blame my daughter and send pest control. UNACCEPTABLE!!
How do I get someone to expose Morado West 6161 W McDowell? My daughter and fiancé signed a lease to move in on 10/20. Due to Covid, they only show model apartments so they assumed their apartment would be livable. Unfortunately, the apartment they rented to them is roach infested, the refrigerator is not stabilized, the ceiling is peeling, the vents are dirty, the patio door is a hazard and kitchen drawers are not functioning. The apartment complex called them 1-hour before there expected move in time and asked them to delay their move-in due to “carpet cleaning.” Unfortunately, they we’re already packed in the moving truck and prepared to head to their new apartment. They agreed to move in and the carpets would be cleaned at a later time. During the move in, we saw several live roaches and after moving appliances and opening cupboards, we saw a lot of dead roaches. My daughter is 8 months pregnant and asthmatic. She had to leave her soon to be daughters furniture in the balcony (in hopes of bugs not getting into the boxes). We need to expose this complex and property owners/managers. We are pushing to get their deposit back, moving expenses to a different livable property. I’m enclosing some of the pictures we took. The assistant property manager resolution is to send pest control out and treat. Here’s the kicker, pest control came out and found eggs, live and dead roaches ,as well as, feces. This is unacceptable and we need this exposed. I spoke with several tenants and they are having the same issues.Review fromSean O

1 starPoorly trained staff and major appliance breakdowns in the first 2 months include washer/dryer (4 requests to fix it took a month), refrigerator (2 requests and a month) and the heat pump (3 requests). If I put in a maintenance request I can count on having to make at least two followups to ensure that it's acted on, understood, scheduled, etc. There is no process for followup or responses, you basically just wait until you have to go back and ask them again. So far this week it is two nights without heat with night temps in the 30s.
So quality of appliances gets an F, the staff a D. Very poor overall quality for the pricing.
Also when i moved in the original leasing agent Brittany presented me with a lease that was $400/mo over what we agreed to every step along the way. Fortunately I read the contract and was able to get it changed before I was fleeced.Review fromJohn C

1 starI could list all the inconveniences we endured during our tenure as Greystar's tenants, such as having all the exterior doors propped open 60% of the time and the resulting burglaries that I and other tenants fell victim to (3 separate instances for myself alone!). But, the other reviews touch upon that in as much detail as I'd be able to provide. My main gripe is their illegal practice of retaining security deposits without reason. No photo evidence was given to substantiate the need to spend our deposit on cleaning the unit upon our departure, and of course we spent an entire day deep cleaning every square inch. Upon inquiry, they admitted that they hire a cleaning company who charges a flat rate for every unit whose lease terminates in a given month. That's right - They admitted that they charge every tenant cleaning fees regardless of the condition the unit is left in.Review fromAshish M

1 starThe new management does not even deserve 0 stars.
They are just money-sucking leaches. All they look for is money-making avenues. Money, money, money.............Review fromNick B

1 starHorrible management, have waiting more than 21 days(more already) for our refundable deposit, tried calling them at every hour of the day and they can never have a human pick up always a computer and when you call bay court( the apartment they own) they say "they can't do anything about it " you would think for such a big company they would actually have money but they're concerned about stealing other peoples money. ******** never will rent from them again.Review fromRachelle T.

1 starI moved into Desert Shadows Apartments in 2020. It was a *********** property and they were amazing. My rent was $1050 for a 2 bedroom 2 bath apartment. It wasn't up to date and had many issues but I couldn't argue because it was $1050 a month for a great location. Year two my rent went up to $1100 but that was fair. They allowed me to have a dog and I could overlook the things that I'd mentioned to property management (like the outlets in both bedrooms were not connected to wall switches. My refrigerator went out and they replaced it with a smaller refrigerator. They didn't bother offering to help me with the food that went bad. I could overlook the little things that bothered me for $1100 When Greystar took over the first thing they did was raise my rent up to $1575 per month. They didn't explain that rent was **** and there was a $50 water and gas fee, and a $25 trash fee. The property has a trash collection service that comes to the door. All I saw on the renewal letter was $**** for 14 months.I went to the manager of the property and she decreased my rent to $1404. I signed, thinking my rent was going to be $1404. They didn't tell me that didn't include the $75 fee. My bad, I signed but it knocked about $6 off my rent. Shortly after I asked my neighbors about their rent as well as new renters. Most were paying $1100-$1200.Shortly after signing I lost my job. I found another job in ********** (300 miles away). Greystar let me out of the lease but made me give 60 days notice. When I did that, they changed me to month to month and raised the rent to $1800 per month. They gouged someone who is unemployed $800 per month. Their front office staff says it's a Greystar policy and they don't have the power to change it. The regional manager blew me off and directed my complaint to the manager of the property, who was really sweet but it was obvious her hands were tied. An $850 increase to someone who lost their job and had to relocate is excessive.Review fromKyla E

1 starI live at ****************** a Greystar Community. I am absolutely disgusted and angry. My bathtub keeps filling with sewage water. It happened once while my BABY was taking a bath! My baby has a life threatening disease called cystic fibrosis (CF) it affects his lungs, pancreas and GI system. **** has repeatedly brushed me off. They had called plumbers but every single one of them has just run the bath water, watch it drain then say, looks fine to me. The sewage ***** up from the drain and fills my tub, then slowly drains leaving a disgusting grime behind. This happens almost every night and **** refuses to help me. I cant get ahold of Greystar to complain. Dont come here. The grounds are full of dog ****, trash, the pipes are bad and the leasing office is unhelpful, uncaring and simply dont care.Review fromdebbie l.

1 starHorrible place to live and the management is awful. I moved into an apartment sixes ridge ********* in July 2022. Since I moved in the upstairs tenets have been horrible to deal with. They dont work, home all the time and all you eat is the non-stop sound of stomping, slamming , jumping and god knows what else. I talked to the tenants 2 times to tell them to stop, reported them 4 times to to management and still no resolution. We work from home so the non stop stomping all day long is interfering with our job. As of today I was told that ok they will let us move into an apartment like ours another building but we need to give 30 days notice and pay ****** transfer fee. Yeah thats not happening. Why should we move when they have been given several warnings. Im trying to get with corporate if nothing happens law suit timeReview fromOscar T

1 starI would like to share my experience with Paseo on University for anyone who is thinking about applying for a residence there. Before applying I looked into the available units that they had and three different representatives confirmed that they had their 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom units available, not just to me, but also to my roommate that was applying as well. We decided to go forward with the application on July 23, 2022 and paid the $312.35 dollars total for the application. That same day as soon as I applied I gave a call to the leasing office to confirm with them that I had already paid my application for the 2 bedroom 2 bathroom, to which they told me that that unit was not available. I explained to them that three different associates had confirmed to me that they did have it available but as soon as I paid they apparently did not have any more. They initially told me a refund check would be issued in 2 - 6 weeks to my home address, and there was nothing else that could be done. It is currently September 29, 2022, almost three months after my initial request for my refund check and I have not received my refund back from them despite having gone to the leasing office in Tempe multiple times and I have talked to the manager in person. The manager mentioned that they issued the refund check back September 1st almost 5 weeks after the day I asked for my money back, but I have not seen any check from them. Every time that I go they tell me that they will give me a call back, which they never do, and I am forced to go in person each time and they have not been able to resolve this and they tell me that once they find out what happened to the check they will have to re-send a new one and that will take another 2-6 weeks. Horrible experience I would not recommend this place to any one.
