This place has become horrible to live in, nothing like when we first moved here. Over the last year, we’ve had constant issues with the property, security, and management. When Avenue 5 managed it, the property was declining, with high staff turnover. Once Greystar took over, it got even worse.

The halls were rarely cleaned, often covered in animal waste or vandalism. The gates were frequently broken, and in our 5+ years there, some were always unusable. Residents left doors open for outsiders since they sometimes couldn't enter themselves. The fob system often malfunctioned, and we received multiple emails about reprogramming them. Fire alarms would go off in the middle of the night for months, and both property management companies blamed it on a homeless person, but the fire department disagreed. Neighbors’ cars were broken into or stolen from the parking garage due to broken gates. The elevators were often out of service. When our lease renewal had errors, the office delayed issuing a correct notice, giving it less than 30 days before our lease ended. They required 30 days’ notice to move out, and the office claimed we should’ve known their initial notice was a typo since “other tenants knew.”

After escalating the issue to Avenue 5's regional manager, they delayed until management switched to Greystar, who didn’t fix the problem. We stayed an additional 9 months, filled with the same and more issues.

After moving out, they tried to avoid refunding our deposit, charging for damages beyond wear and tear, despite us leaving the property spotless. We requested receipts for the charges but got no response, only bogus photos from the inspection, which I knew weren’t accurate since I was present. Despite being told we wouldn’t be charged, they later sent us to collections without contacting us. We are now consulting with a legal team due to their unsavory business practices and unreliable staff.

My Family and I moved to this apartment complex about 3 years ago, rent always paid, never had a problem. On August 25th around 2am my Family and I were awaken by water coming in from the apartment above us. It started in one of our bathrooms and made its way to the hallway, kitchen, my child's room, our living room and slowly to our room. We immediately contacted management, who sent over maintenance. The gentleman had to shut off the water to stop the continuous flow of water pouring in. When he came back to our apartment, he stated that it was the upstairs toilet that was over flowing. Great, I had already started putting buckets and was get wet!Sunday passed and management didn't get in contact with us until Monday morning when they came in for work, 9am. Attempted to downplay the situation, staff stated, "it's just toilet water from the pipe". No one came up to our apartment to see with their own eyes, let alone smell it. Not even an apology. No compassion whatsoever. They attempted to make us stay there until work was complete. Highly unacceptable, because if they would've assessed themselves they would see that it was uninhabitable. Instead of attempting to calm our worries of having to relocate, and treat us like a Family that lives here, they got our stress and took it personal. They moved us to another apartment on the complete opposite side of the complex, they never came up with us to assess the new apartment, which clearly had a dog because it still smelled like dog urine, there was paint stains on the floor, laminate is peeling up and this whole side has been neglected with animal urine and f**** littered around the court yard. Then after stating that they would pro-rate our rent for loss of days and not "charging a deposit fee", which shouldn't have even been done, not addressed. They give us our rent bill with no pro-rate and a deposit fee! Then they hit us with an eviction notice. Stay away from these corporate owned "luxury" complexes!

I currently live at a Greystar Property in ******, ** and do intend to remain at the property. However, property management has been the most unpleasant and shocking experience I have had in my 8 years of renting. Before I moved in they would not return my calls. I finally got ahold of them a few days before my move in and they told me we dont know if youll be able to move in that day. I ended up moving in on time, however they expected that I sign utility agreements with no meters on my unit, they informed me day of they did not have a mailbox available for me and did not set my unit up with their package delivery service (still have not done either 11 months later), they only gave me 1 key when my lease states 2, they did not show me where trash or amenities were, and they chose not to inform me they ran out of parking passes and had my car towed. Since then, they have been incredibly disrespectful, unethical, and unresponsive even when property management changed halfway through the year. The maintenance teams are kind, but I believe overworked and are hard to get ahold of most of the time. The copy of my key that maintenance did have they lost and would not rekey my door. Property management behaves and acts like a high school clique on a power trip and despite being adults, are the most immature and uneducated people I have ever experienced at a property. My unit itself is nice, my building has no rodent or homelessness issue (that is not the case for other buildings on the property), and I generally feel safe in and around my building despite their refusal to fix exterior doors and security hazards. There are a lot of unsupervised children on the property that ding dong ditch, but this is a mild irritant. Property Management has also charged me additional fees in unethical and likely illegal ways. Once I choose not to live in this location, that I enjoy, I will certainly never live at a Greystar property again.

The Retreat at State College managed by Greystar is quite possibly the most unprofessional and unethical apartment complex any of my children have rented from. The list is long, but the grand finale occurred today when I receive a notice from a debt collector. My son moved out July 31. No final invoice was sent. Not to my son, not to me as his guarantor and not to any of his roommates. Instead they sent it directly to a collections agency. To add insult to injury, they don‘t answer their phones.

NEVER IN MY LIFE HAVE I FELT TREATED LESS THAN A HUMAN!WORST WORST AND WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. NEVER IN MY LIFE HAVE I FELT TREATED LESS THAN A HUMAN. When you need help and try to call them, NO ANSWERS. Then they just call you whenever they want, and are RUDE, YELL, and HANG UP on you. I experienced this TWICE IN ONE DAY by two different people from the ********************** ****** **** and ****** (I'm not sure of her name as she REFUSED to give it to me again later on), and a ***** (the manager who ****** said he did not have time to speak to me).I moved out and received some charges from Greystar as the move out fee and received a ledger from them. As I was reviewing the ledger so I got confused and have been trying to reached out and get the clarification from them, but all I got back was: "Just tell me you did not want to pay then we will just send it to the collections"- From ****** ****."I do not care and I do not want to learn about your experience". "How do you want to pay?". "I'm not going to give you names" (When I wanted to confirm her name after receiving the rude treatment)- From ******??

This apartment place is super bad in various ways. 1. The staff in the office are not helpful or timely in addressing your issues. When I sent them one email, they take one month to reply or simply never reply, even if I tried to send them emails multiple times. When they do respond to the emails, they do not address your problems; instead, their reaction is that we do not care, we can not help. 2. It is not safe here. I have lost many packages here. If you leave packages outside for just a few hours, they will be stolen. I have lost packages that are worth a few thousand dollars. 3. It is noisy here. Neighbors are still shouting, screaming, playing loud shows or music even after midnight and until 2 am. Even though I complained to the leasing office, they still can not help fix the problem. 4. They forced you to pay a lot of fees that other apartment places do not charge. The first is trash fee over 30 dollars. For the trash I left outside, nobody ever picked them up. But they still charged me over 30$ per month. When I reported this issue again and again to the leasing office, they never addressed the issue. They also forced you to pay package delivery fee of 25$ per month. But your packages can still be stolen even with the additional package delivery service. I will never ever recommend this place to anyone!!!

I am complaining about this apartment complex. My son's apartment has been invested with phorid files since he moved in, the complex is charging for complex utilities that were not part of our lease agreement, and the management at the complex does not return calls. NOW there is a double utilities charge for July 2024 and no one will answer the phone to discuss!

I have tried over and over to call and have l not gotten any responses.

DO NOT SIGN A LEASE WITH THIS COMPLEX!

I am livid about the charges you are trying to charge us! First of all, I put in my notice on June 30 & moved out / returned keys and gate fob on July 31st! Why are you trying to charge an extra 5 days?! We requested to be there when you did the walk through and that never happened! Then we received a statement with all of these trumped up charges carpet replacement, damages! There were no damages when I left and the carpet did not need replaced it was in perfect condition !I have left several messages for the staff at overture to send proof of damages and, as usual - no response!Your staff at overture is totally irresponsible and I think they should all be fired!! They are never there and never take care of the problems or the tenants ! They threatened to kick us out saying we didnt pay rent when it was their total incompetence for not applying the payments properly!! Of course, if they were there to do there job, this would not have happened!! This will be going on Yelp! Nothing but greed with this property management company??

Greystar is a ****************. My daughter lived on the Lotus near CU *******. Aside from raising the rent 10 to 15% every year to where it is now over 1600 a month for a single room in a four bedroom apartment, after move out they charged $100 for a little touch up paint that they wouldn't provide me so I could do it myself. To top it off they did not identify the charge until about 18 days after move out and the sent the $100 bill to collections a few days after we received it in the mail. RIDICULOUS. It's a potential hit to my daughter's credit report before she can even establish credit. Their pillar of customer satisfaction is a joke. They don't care and are only about making money. If I could give them negative stars I would.

Atmark Cambridge is managed by GREYSTAR and the community is good but the manangement is absolute THIEF. They will make sure they will add fee that is not legal and hidden and charge extra . If the rent is 2k they will make you pay an extra 1K just because you signed a lease. Without any rules they will just make you pay. Dont go on the rent and discount . This is an absolutely theif management company.
