1 starThey give bogus charges at move out and then make it nearly impossible to contact them to figure it out. It took me months of calls, voicemails, emails, and going back to my apartment to talk to management with no success before they finally contacted me back. Absolute joke of a management team.Review fromDarlene S

1 starI leased at Greystar properties in Phoenix AZ. I moved out October 3, 2024. My leased ended on October 14, 2024. I paid 300 cash deposit and 50 remote deposit refundable. The office gave me prorated amount on October 1, 2024 930. 03 in a cashier check. I redo a letter more than 14 days bill that wasn’t itemized showing I owe damaged 150.27, utilities 247.34 and renter insurance 1.39. I left no damages statement doesn’t say detail of damages. The utilities are not broken down in detail but for 2 months billing but I have been paying in my payment each month never late. I have my own renter insurance so why are they billing me. They violated Arizona law to send an itemized statement before taking my deposit. I did make a video of my apartment plan to take them to small claims court. My apartment was filthy when I moved but I left cleaner than I moved in. I mopped floors took all trash out. I knew when I moved they would take my deposit because they presented me a condo not clean.Review fromAllison B

1 starLiving at Alexan Westerly Creek (Now the Hayes). Greystar failed to mention the property was for sale. At lease signing, I was promised concessions in the amount of $3600, which I never received. Now that the property has been sold, I am no longer promised these concessions, but would owe them back if I was to break my lease. I'm wanting the concessions that were promised but failed to give to me and many others in the community.Review fromTerra H

1 starOn day one our dryer was broken, it would stay on but something had to continuously hold down to Start button, we put in a maintenance request a month later someone finally came to "fix it" only now it wouldn't stay on at all. So in went another maintenance request and gone was another month someone finally came to replace our dryer. This was just the beginning. We own a dog and were very disappointed when their selling point of an "outside wash station" isn't even hooked up. Next people continuously throw food scraps in the dog park (ex. bones and crawfish) The lady above us is always feeding the stray cats right outside our front door. She is also always smoking and dumping her ashes on her porch after numerous emails about no smoking near the property. 4 months into our lease our toilet started leaking so I immediately put in a maintenance request so that it did not ruin their "new floors". It took a month and a half but I finally heard back they closed the request without ever stepping foot in my apartment saying "Job Completed". I called the front office quite upset because when this is all over and our lease is up I know we will be penalized for the ruined floor. I explained everything that happened and they instructed me to fill out another request. Then they proceeded to call me every other day for a month to check if the work had been completed it hadn't. It took another 2 months for them to fix our leaky toilet 3 1/2 months to fix a 5 minute job! The gates are constantly broken and stuck open so if you felt safe living in a gated community this isn't it. There are multiple broken spots in the fence where people can sneak in and get to anything they want. People were able to break into the apartment complex parking lot and leave with my truck in the middle of the night. Makes me feel very unsafe when I come home at night. The front office had no solution, and when I brought up the broken pieces of gate they claimed "there's nothing they can do about it".Review fromKiarra R

1 starUnfortunately, I had an unpleasant experience with Alta Croft apartments. I had been in contact with the employee Evelyn and the property manager Starr, back and forth with lack of knowledge and communication between the both of them. I toured an apartment with Evelyn the beginning of last week and was advised to apply for the apartment despite my current situation regarding tax forms, credit and income. Evelyn stated it was not necessary for my boyfriend and I to meet the criteria in order for us to be approved for the apartment, we specifically asked her if we were able to use an offer letter from my boyfriend's employer as proof of income and she stated it would be accepted, and a payment of x would be required upon approval. Both of us making sure that the documents we were able to provide was enough to get approved for this apartment. After the fact that we applied for the apartment, Starr stated that the offer letter was not an acceptable form of proof of income. Starr stated we were eligible to apply only using my information and still only pay the fee of x upon acceptance. Given our situation we were desperate to move in ASAP, we were promised a move-in date on Friday 11/1/2024. We were constantly receiving emails to sign up for the online portal for payment submission for the rent. I understand that we weren't the only people trying to move in and that Starr had other applications to look through and approve, but the unprofessionalism is beyond me! I was given MULTIPLE time frames of when I would be receiving a call back from Starr and no call was received...I was constantly checking in to make sure we weren't forgotten about. Yet to find out, we were approved UNDER CIRCUMASTANCES... meaning I had to come up with roughly almost $4K to move in same day Friday afternoon. I only found this out after waiting 2 HOURS to be acknowledged in office. Both Evelyn and Starr were well aware that I was on my lunch break waiting to be attended. 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND!Review fromMargo C

1 starRenter beware. The Belt + Main apartments in ********** are not ethically run.Moved to Dallas from out of state. Connected with Belt + Main in July to confirm they are taking renters and applications. They took our deposits and said they were having their first move in group mid August and we needed to move late August. No ************ forward to mid August and we are preparing for a x-country move. They start pushing back move in date due to last minute opening issues. Okay no big deal. We plan to move over Labor Day. We have a pod and confirm we can park on site. They say we can absolutely move in Tuesday after Labor Day. Got a call while on the road that wont be able to happen. Now we are scrambling for a hotel. We go to visit because we need somewhere to park our pod. They swear up and down we are good to move in that first Friday in September. So we bite the bullet on a hotel and they said they would pay. Our stuff is all parked in their parking lot. So we kinda have ******* forward and TLDR we spend almost three weeks in a hotel (with a dog this was a huge life upheaval) because they keep jerking us around saying they cant open due to little things. No communication. Lies. ***** promises. They said theyd pay for hotel coverage no problem. Refused to put anything in writing. We finally got fed up and signed a lease somewhere else. We were out time and tons of money because we trusted these people and they kept filling us with false promises. Yes before anyone comes at me our bad for trusting but they put us in a s***** situation On top of that they went back on their word and refused to pay for hotel. They lost a ton of our mail. And they are still charging us for power in a unit we never lived in (working with the power company on this but still)If you are considering living there think twice. Poorly run Greystar property. Dont let out thousands of dollars mistake happen to you.Review fromRobert B

2 starsThe apartment has a lot of security and safety issues that are wrong. The structure is poorly put together for ground floor tenants. The stairs fall apart. Numbers for maintenance are not clearly noted in the apartment voicemail machine.Review fromNoah Q

1 starCannot say enough bad. From how issues are handled as a resident- noisy neighbors, constant smoke smells , condoning of illegal activity being conducted right out front an the monthly rent always changed with various changing charges constantly it was complete Nonsense. I told a employee I was moving out at the lease expiration date originally agreed, only to be charged month to month rate of $5,364 from the $3200 I was paying and told I didnt let them know. I requested they go back and listen to call and was ghosted by management. Then the way I was treated post move out and charges keep coming and they do not return calls only email back telling me contact different departments. I paid extra every month to have it reported to my credit and never received one report. I attempted several times to contact support as I was paying and waiting but nothing ever happened. As well to get in touch with someone is impossible, when I did I was finally told they are not sure of the charges and will have to research them. When I say be full warned.. The founding principles must have been lost because it is impossible for a company to operation in this fashion and sustain. When I moved out there was four others on my floor we all scoffed at the place collectively in agreement with how we were treated. *** , *** , sad. If you have never considered a review or weighed one lightly I assure you this is not one to take lightly.Review fromZahin Z

1 starThe fire exit dont work. Door handle has been broken for 8 months. Sometimes the lift does not work and this is the only exit, and even this exit does not work. In case of fire, we will just die because we are poor enough to live here. I issued tickets to have this fixed multiple times and they still did nothing.Review fromKe H

1 starThe **** in *************** is a Greystar property and it is one of the worst apartment complexes I have ever lived in! Sure, the location is prime, but that should not justify an extortionately high base rent and tons of amenity fees. There is virtually no security or enforcement of resident rules, and even when notified, the management team turns a blind eye. We moved into a "newly renovated" unit, however the back door was left unlocked and random people had been bumming it in our unit prior to move in. We also had to put in multiple maintenance requests within the first week of moving in due to faulty AC, ceiling fans/lights being synced to our above residents remote control, and there being a total infestation of bugs. To top it all off, when you do make a complaint to management, they shove your lease agreement in your face and show zero remorse or empathy. Just a bunch of corporate lawyer jargon. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE. Greystar is a terrible company and good luck getting them to care about your safety and well being while living in one of their complexes.
