UNDISCLOSED DAMAGED TO *** X6I purchased a pre-owned 2019 *** X6 from ******* ********** / Berwyn, IL in April of this year 2023. The salesperson (*****) assured me the car was mechanically and cosmetic sound even after sending pics. A couple of weeks after I took delivery (30 days after purchase, which was ridiculous, do to the dealership dragging their feet in processing paperwork), I found that the driver side headlight was damaged and allowing water to enter behind the unsealed lens. Incidentally, Id only driven the car less than 5 miles since delivery. -it is not a daily driver. I didnt notify the dealership; but purchased a used headlight from **** ($900.00 / new was $2700.00!!!) and installed myself. On 07/I8, I took the car to ************ in *******, ** (by now, i had only put less than 100 miles on the odometer) to diagnose a couple of caution codes that had appeared on the dash displays and to get an oil change. The service department discovered significant damage behind the front bumper and under hood. The report stated that the previous repairs were very sloppy, using incorrect parts, incorrect fasteners and DRYWALL SCREWS & CAULK to hold parts together!! It also appears that the caution codes had been previously cleared without the repairs being made before I took delivery. These caution codes prevent other general information such as head up info, milage, miles to empty, time & date, navigation, etc. from being visible on the display screens. The estimate to do the repairs correctly came to $4100.00. On 08/14, I sent the information above via the dealerships site email and received no response.On 08/18, I emailed the dealerships general manager, *******************, explaining in full detail, the issues and asking if they would be willing to pay or at least share the costs to make the necessary repairs. As of 08/23, I have yet to get a response.
