However, was sent a PDF 'pack' including simulated government form for passport renewal, while promising non-existent insurance for lost or damaged passport for 2 years. Should have ensured authenticity by checking the website for web address ending with .gov when renewing online.

Attempted to renew my TSA Global Entry card. I searched on "Global Entry renewal". At the top of the search result was al well formatted listing that looked like the government site and took me to "https://gb-concierge.com/global/application?msclkid=168b561d0df81a2294023ea60bafeef". The page looked exactly like the TSA data entry form. I completed the form before I realized it was not the government site. I tried to contact the company on the phone number listed but the called either resulted in Busy signal or a message saying that I was caller number 2 with a 15-minute wait time. After about 15 minute the line went dead. I contacted the CC company and cancelled the charge.

US Passport renewal scam. This fake third party website similar to the state departments link on google defrauded me by lying about their services and seeming like they were the actual United Stares state department and took all of my personal information necessary for the renewal of my US passport . Including my SS# and bank account info as well as a photo uploaded. The website never mentioned they are third party. The site even charged me for TSA global pre check. The sites contact number is bogus as well as email address.

On Thursday, July 24, 2025, I went on the cheapflights.com website looking for an inexpensive round trip airline ticket to Buffalo, New York. I followed a link on that website to another website named tarifasodeal.com. On that website, I booked a round trip ticket on Southwest Airlines to Buffalo from Albuquerque for October 17th returning on the 23rd. The website informed me that I would be charged $255.82 for the round trip ticket. I purchased the ticket and thought I was all set. A few minutes later, the company called me and informed me that the ticket was a “restricted ticket” and that it did not allow me to check any luggage or even bring a carry-on onto the plane. This was ridiculous on its face because no one flies without luggage, and if I attempted to do so, I would likely get flagged by TSA as a potential terrorist. I was told that I would need to upgrade my ticket in order to be able to check my baggage, and that the upgrade would bring the total amount for the ticket to $472.00! I refused to pay this additional amount, claiming that their website said nothing about the ticket not allowing baggage (which cannot be true of any airline ticket), and that the website indicated that the price I was given of $255.82 included the ticket as well as all taxes and fees. I asked for a refund, but they flatly refused, and continued to try to get me to pay more for a ticket I already paid for in full. I argued with the agent and later the supervisor but to no avail. The supervisor even tried to get me to change my trip dates to accommodate his attempt at extortion, and even went so far as to try to get me to arrive at the Rochester, New York airport which is a good hour and a quarter away from Buffalo! When I refused both his attempts to get me to change my plans, he acted as if I was being unreasonable! When I checked the Southwest Airlines app on my phone, it did not indicate that I had any pending flights scheduled. The website asked for a confirmation number, but the booking “confirmation” I received from Tarifasodeal did not have a confirmation number. I later called Southwest Airlines and they informed me that they could not check to see if I had a flight scheduled without a confirmation number. When I spoke with the Tarifasodeal supervisor, he told me that I could not get access to the flight without the confirmation number. I asked him what it was, but he refused to give it. I told him that he was holding my confirmation number hostage until I agreed to pay more for the ticket and he unashamedly said, “Yes.” The supervisor, who repeatedly refused to give me his name or the address of the business so I could have my lawyer contact him, was very rude and insulting. He said things such as, “Why can’t you understand a simple thing?” or that if I was smarter, I’d understand. When I asked if he was calling me stupid, he said, “Yes.” At that point, I had a few choice words for him and hung up. He called me back a few minutes later, and I told him that if he wasn’t going to make things right, I didn’t want to talk to him. He said he was going to make things right, spoke very fast, said something about “reservation” and Southwest Airlines” that I didn’t catch, and promptly hung up before I could ask any questions. At that point, I was unable to check to see if I even had a flight scheduled. I called my bank and told them that the charge was fraudulent because I did not receive the item I paid for, and they credited the charge to my account, provisionally, pending investigation. The following day, upon recommendation from my local police, I again called Southwest Airlines to try to get my confirmation number. This time, they used my name and telephone number to find the confirmation number, and I promptly cancelled the reservation. When I did, I was informed by the Southwest agent that the reservation was for a one-way ticket from Buffalo to Albuquerque on October 23, not the round trip ticket I paid for. The amount deducted from my checking account was $208.18, not the $255.82 I was supposed to have been charged. This was likely because Tarifasodeal, LLC made a one-way airline reservation for me, even though the booking confirmation clearly indicated that it was a round-trip ticket, yet another example of fraud. I later received a refund from Southwest Airlines, after which I contacted my bank to tell them to reverse the provisional refund. I called my lawyer and he advised me to file an IC3 complaint with the FBI internet crimes division, which I did. I filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission. I filed a complaint with the Florida Attorney General’s Office as well, and also contacted the Plantation, Florida Police Department. They informed me that the address of the business was an apartment building, not a storefront or office building. They also told me that I would have to file the complaint locally and that my local police department could then reach out to the Plantation Police Department to have them investigate further. Based on this advice, I filed a criminal fraud complaint with my local police department. This company is obviously a scam. It is a clear bait and switch operation. They lure unsuspecting people in with a low airfare and then hold their confirmation number hostage until they agree to pay more. They refuse to refund the customer’s money after they add expenses and conditions to the ticket that the customer just purchased. The supervisor even threatened to cancel my reservation without issuing a refund! This is a criminal enterprise that needs to be avoided at all costs.

I was attempting to renew my Global Entry card, which was expiring the next day, 8/11/2025. I logged on to a website that I thought was a government site: https://secure.login.gov/ and filled out all the forms online. However, this morning I received an email from [email protected] asking me to confirm my current address. The wording was suspicious, so I checked for possible scams and noted that this was a common practice currently, and the cost was more than stated, which I thought was due to the inclusion of ’TSA' in the renewal. I believe this is a scam and I was not fast enough to catch it.

I was under the impression that this was an easy way to renew my passport. When I saw all the charges, I was horrified! The site charges $97 for their service, another $97 to renew TSA pass, $19 for a list of “free” services, and $130 for the actual fee to renew your passport. The application sounded as though $97 was the only charge or you can bundle it and pay only $130. When I checked my activity on my credit card, I was furious. I called and they were willing to reverse the charge for TSA Precheck. And explained their fee of $97 is for using their software. Then they’d send you an application to the government and an envelope to mail the check they send for the actual renewal for the government. After discussing this with my husband who recently renewed his passport and learning all he paid was $130 using Travel.state.gov I decided to call my credit card company to cancel all the charges and am being issued a new card. Now I’m worried about having my identity and social security stolen. I’m reporting this as potential fraud by this company.

I looked online for a number to call the TSA regarding questions about my overseas flight on Delta Airlines. A man who gave his name as Mike Ross said he could help me get a better rate on my ticket. He claimed I had been scammed and advised me to report the $409 extra charge, saying he would cancel the original ticket. That confused me, since I thought I had reached the TSA.

I’m 77 years old and have always made airline reservations for my husband and me before he passed. So I asked who I was speaking with. He identified himself as Delta Airlines. This added to my confusion, and I assumed each airline might have a TSA representative. It wasn’t until I saw the charges on my credit card—one for the Delta Airlines ticket and another for $1,000 from “Travel Service 8009144 Carbon”—that I realized something was very wrong.

I became very concerned and looked for a valid number for Delta Airlines using their app. My original ticket had been booked through a website that claimed to be Delta, but I later learned it wasn’t. I hadn’t realized I could contact Delta through their app—I thought it was only for browsing flights. I eventually found the correct 800 number to speak with Delta, listed at the bottom of the app's options. Delta has been wonderful, as has my credit card company. Delta refunded several charges, but not the $855 charged by Mike Ross.

I later found out that Ross had canceled my original ticket, claiming it was for medical reasons—which was not true—and used an email address that wasn’t mine. So I never knew he had lied to the airline as well as to me. A very kind Delta supervisor issued me a new ticket with a reservation number. I used a different credit card for the purchase because I was afraid Mike Ross might interfere again.

Afterward, I received a call from the company Ross works for. I told them my ticket had been canceled, and not by me. The call came from 800-969-1418. They also used 800-577-3920. After I hung up, they called me back. This time, a very rude woman spoke to me and immediately told me not to speak until she was done. I told her no, demanded my money back, and warned her not to call me again or I would report her to the police. As I hung up, she yelled that I would not be getting any of my money back.

I went back to the email they sent and found a cancellation option. I submitted a request for a refund. I still don’t know how I ended up speaking with Mike Ross, as I had dialed what I believed was a TSA number. I later went to the Better Business Bureau website to check for any reports and was shocked to see that almost the exact same thing had happened to another woman. Like me, she believed she was calling TSA but ended up speaking with someone pretending to be her airline, who then scammed her.

I have no complaints against Delta—they have been extremely helpful. But there’s still confusion surrounding the "medical" reason given for the canceled ticket. I hope and expect this to be resolved soon. The stress this has caused has been overwhelming. I have a heart condition and limited mobility. I can’t wait for this nightmare to be over. From now on, I’ll only book airline tickets through official apps so I know I’m dealing with the real company.

This site presents itself as a legitimate passport renewal and application site, asks for personal information, including SSN and charges $88.82. Then, delivers the application form that I would have completed myself had I gone directly to the government website, as I intended.

I clicked a link on the internet to set up a TSA precheck appointment. It appeared this was the official appointment portal. My USAA credit card was not accepted twice and their message said to contact my bank. I think this is because this company is known to USAA. Since I wasn't aware, i tried another credit card--my AMEx. That was accepted. Once I went to the TSA office for my precheck appointment, they finished fingerprinting and asked me for $75 fee. I asked if this was in addition to the $150 I had paid yesterday. The agent told me if I had paid that prior it was a scam. But that they were a third party and could not do anything about it. As such, I contacted the company by a random 321 area code phone number they have that must be a google voice and goes straight to voice mail. It says they call back within 48 hours but you do not get a call back. I've now found this scam on reddit as a known scam and someone found the real phone number, which I included in your report. I lost the amount charged AND my personal information to this company!

On 6/7/2025 I googled on RENEW US PASSPORT. Google returned “RENEW PASSPORT ONLINE” and I clicked on this item and the website GOVPLUS.COM opened with a photo of a US Passport and instructions for filing a US Passport application. I followed the instructions and filled out the forms including all my personal information and Social Security Number. The website said I needed to pay for renewal with credit card and I completed payment. The site continued with form filling and then would stop and ask me if I wanted to pay more for additional services such as quicker application handling or getting a TSA priority pass. I replied NO and then it would pop up with additional requests for more money to speed up the process of providing a passport renewal. I became suspicious because the site kept asking for more money to provide better service. I googled on GOVPLUS.COM and found they are NOT THE US GOVERNMENT PASSPORT RENEWAL SITE. It was too late. I had been scammed by this bogus site pretending to be the US Government. i had paid $67 by credit card and theIr website says they will complete a US passport application in 3 days, but it has been 9 days and they have done nothing, nor replied to my email request for status info. They use a chatbot at their website that gives you lots of nice platitudes...but that is all I have received from GOVPLUS.COM Scrolling all the way to the bottom of their pages they have a statement that EIN LLC is a private company not affiliated with any government agency. But who starts at the bottom of a long page of forms? They masqueraded as a US Government passport renewal website and completely fooled me!

I had to go to Kentucky for my grandson's graduation. I tried to get a Real ID, but I didn't have enough documentation at that appointment to prove my citizenship. I then looked for my Passport and found that it had expired in February 2025. I panicked, so I went online to see if I could renew my passport through the Department of State. It would have taken 4-6 weeks to get a renewed passport. I then went online to see if there was a way to expedite the renewal. I found a company called Passport and Visas that claims to be able to renew your passport and send it to you within 3-4 days. I started the process on April 24 and did not receive my passport until May 9th. Whenever I thought we were making progress toward a resolution, they requested more documentation. I called them a total of 31 times, and I still hadn't received my passport. I had to change my flight, which cost me $388, and I hoped that the TSA would let me board a flight when I arrived at the airport. Luckily, the TSA was in a good mood, because I could get on the flight on May 10, 2025 - the day my grandson graduated in Kentucky. My passport arrived on May 10th after I had left my home. If you search online for Reddit or the Better Business Bureau, it indicates that this is a scam. I believe they cannot expedite passports, and they are charging $449 for a service that cannot provide this. They are preying on people like me who are desperate to get their passports renewed. Someone needs to stop this. I told them I want my $449 back at minimum, and the $388 I spent to change my flight.
