I was sold a contract where they will provide the pest control services at specific intervals and I would pay $139 4 times over a year and any additional services needed will be free of charge. The contract I signed specifically has a "4" next to the charge i will be paying. However i was charged every time they went out to my house and over the course of 13 months i paid them 9 times the $139. When i asked for a refund i was told that i can either go down to a lesser service of break the contract with no further chargesBusiness Response

In June 2023, Aptive Environmental provided service to my house has they have done periodically for the last 6 years. Upon receiving an email notification in June of an outstanding balance of $183.15, I dutifully wrote a check for that amount on June 24, addressed the envelope to the Dallas PO Box provided by the company, stamped the envelope and placed it in a USPS box. On July 5, my bank paid that check, in that amount via electronic payment through “Comenity Card Check Pymt”.
On July 24 I received an email from the company that I owed them $183.15. I called my area representative and explained that I had paid the bill by check dated June 24. She told me it was not uncommon for checks to take more than a month to clear.
On August 19, I again received and email repeating the payment demand. They claim to have no record of the payment. I have provided proof of the bank payment, records from my check register that I recorded when I wrote the check that is was made on June 24, in the amount owed, and the check number which was cashed in that amount.
The company continues to deny that payment was made because I can’t provide proof that “Aptive Environmental” shows on an electronic payment.
I paid the bill. I’ve shown what I have to show. The bank paid the bill. The harassment continues.
Can you help?Business Response

We moved into our new condo early July 2023. I contracted with the local pest control co. that did our inspection. My wife was unaware of this and when the Aptive salesperson did his pitch, she signed up. I was made aware of this after their 1st service and the charge showed up on our CC bill. She called and canceled the service with the local Aptive rep.
This week I was notified of their next service scheduled for this week. I called and told them we already canceled their service. They have no notes or knowledge of the cancelation. I told them to cancel the service as I didnt want another charge. They sales pitched me on price matxhing and other benefits. I told them I just wanted the service canceled. She finally relented and informed me there would be a $199.00 cancelation fee. I do not agree with this fee after 1 month. I paid for the service they performed but I will not pay for a cancelation fee equal to 3 times the amount of my local pest service.
The resolution I am seeking:
I just want my service canceled and no extra fee charged.Business Response

We have used Aptive for a long time however several months back they started having several problems, people didn't show up **************** didn't work, they sent more people to fix it, they ruined one of our rugs because they tracked mud and plant soil all over it because they didn't wear the booties in the house and most importantly they double charged us for service and then sent us to collections for a **** they show we do not owe and have a zero balance on. We have been told multiple times people will call us back who have not including their legal team on two separate occasions. They don't come anymore but still show we have service with them. They are making it impossible to cancel and they need to remove the debt collections as they show we have a zero balance.Business Response

An Aptive salesperson came to my door and said they were doing service around the neighborhood and wanted to know if I wanted my house included for $50. He never informed me of I was signing up for a two year contract and there was a cancelation fee of $200. He totally misrepresented the services. I was certainly deceived, but others need to know of this company's shady business practices. Salespersons should not be able to do what they are doing.Business Response

We signed up with a Aptive Environmental in July 2021 and had a 12 month contract. If we broke the contract we were charged $199. It started out costing 113 a month and last year it went up to $119 a month. The contract stated that they would spray quarterly. We did not notice until recently because it was auto bank draft that they were spraying every other month and had been since the beginning of last year. We are not happy about this because that’s an extra two sprays per year. When we called they told us there wasn’t a lot that they could do about it because they don’t do quarterly spray anymore. They said we received an email this past January. I looked back through my emails and could not find that email. I told them that they have been doing it since a year ago this past January. We just spoke to a manager and he said there wasn’t anything he could do. We have canceled the account but we are not very happy at all with them. We feel like they broke the contract. An extra two sprays per year adds up to $238 extra that we paid per year that we were not supposed to. We feel like they are deceiving clients and most clients probably don’t even realize that they’re doing it just like us. I would not go with this company.Business Response

The response from the company said that I would receive a refund and the amount within 7 to 14 business days. I will find it satisfactory as long as I do receive that check that they said they are sending. I will not actually find it satisfactory until I receive the check. Entered into an agreement on 3 August. The frequency of treatments and costs conveyed to me were not accurate. Additionally, I've seen no improvement from using service. I want to cancel the service. I sent an e-mail to customer service but have no idea if I will hear back. Their response was they had lots of comments and would get back to me when possible. A young salesman knocked on my 86 yr old father's door in May selling their services. He offered him a special contract for 3 months only to try the service. He said "not to tell the other neighbors" he was offering my father 'such a great' deal. My father was then charged $276.16 in May and $169.53 each following month. He has tried called them, texting the service folks to STOP service and credit back his money after July. Each time he was told he signed a yearly contract and nothing could be done. He called again today and I got on the phone and demanded to speak to a manager. They told me they would enter a complaint and a manager would call my father. In the meantime she said she canceled the contract. This company is a scam.Business Response

This is my account of ******************** from May until today.I should have known better. I got sucked in by a smooth talking young man that said he was working his way through college. He started quoting me over a $1000.00 For 6 treatments. Told him I sprayed my own stuff. He would not leave. Finally talked me into 5 treatments . First appt. went smooth. Had a text saying they were coming. Texted me 1/2 hour before arrival. Seemed to do a good thorough job.I had ants in my house a couple of weeks later.I FOUGHT THE ***** I SPRAYED MY OWN YARD, All around my hose, Inside as well I chipped away at old tree trunks and sprayed in them. I found two ant nests and sprayed them. I did this every other day.All around my hose, Inside as well. Pulled my stove out about 6 times and sprayed. Spayed my counters and floorboards. It was a nightmare for at least a month.Someone showed up on June 7th for the ant recall . Do not know what he did. Whatever it was , it did not help. Then I got a text saying my next appt. was for June 10th. I called and rescheduled it for june 29th. I got numerous texts about it and ***** stated it was for June 29th. Everyone always said they had changed it but your tech showed up on June 10th. I went out and told him it was changed to he 29th. He even called corporate I still got texts about it.The guy that showed up on the 29th was great. I was working outside and talked to him about the ant fiasco and he went above and beyond ( in my opinion). I fought the ants a little longer but then they were gone. Then The wasps came back. They were the reason I took your service in the first place because I could not reach the nests on my 2 story house. i called and made an appt. for Aug. 5th(earliest available) your tech was a no call no show. I called in and they said there was no one available in my area. Seems like they would have known that when they made the appointment. Any way I rescheduled for Aug 12. Again no call no show. I called in again and this time he showed up about an hour later to work. He sat parked in front of my house for half an hour. He was very nice and got the job done quickly.Which brings us to today.. The wasps are back. I called and they told me someone would be here today from 8 until 12. I have called in twice. It is 2:15 and no one is here or has been here.Another no call no show.In my book 3 strikes and you are out. This is my official request for a refund. Also was told when I signed up that inside of house and garage was covered. I had baby kittens at the time and refused that. I have never gotten a contract . Did look on line and it says a yearly contract is usually $500 to $600 for everything So your guy came in being untruthful if that is true. Also saw on line there might be a fee to cancel contract. That is the first I have heard of that. If that is true I suggest you waive that as I have been through a nightmare with your service so far. 2;25 and still no call no show. I give up. I called again at 5. Tech never came.I got an email this morning saying sorry we were not able to service your house yesterday. Then another one from ********* saying it was because of the storm that knocked out all communication and the techs did not know where to go. Not true . When I called and spoke to the employees they said they called the tech and he would be there. There is an untruth in there somewhere. Can not have it both ways. A little later I got an email saying the tech said he came to my house and I was not there.I WAS HOME ALL DAY>. I even complained to the guy on the phone because I had things to do but I had been home waiting for them all day. He told me I did not have to be home for the tech to do the work.If that is the case and he said he came to my housewhy is the wasp nest still at my house?I also had a package from Amazon and the post office delivered to my house yesterday.I heard the knock on my door both times. I told two employees that I want to cancel, I sent a cancellation email to the requested email as advised , I looked up the corporate phone number and called it, only to be transferred to my "APTIVE CORDINATOR" I got a recorded message from her. She is never available. Always has an excuse. As I am writing this I am still getting emails. Now they are badgering me to reschedule This latest missed appt.I do not want to deal with them anymore.I was on auto pay so I do not owe them any money. I just want to cancel. I am not asking for compenstion of any kind. Do not want to give them any more. The days I waited for them to come and they didn't should be reason enough for them to let me cancel without a cancellation fee. Hope I did not forget anythng.Business Response

I hired Aptive Environmental earlier this spring/summer to take care of wasps, ants, mosquitoes, stinkbugs, and box elder bugs. We've had problems with all 4-5 services so far. The associates are very rude when they text and/or come to my home, with multiple being combative after I simply ask them if they completed the mosquito service (becuase this service was missed twice, as it is not a "standard option" in their packages, but it is something we added/pay for). On one occassion, they texted at 7:10am saying they will be here between 1:00pm-6:00pm, but showed up after 8:30pm. Another time they texted at 7:30am saying they would be here in 10 minutes, but arrived after 8:30am. After paying over $170 per service, we can't sit on our back deck because of the wasps and mosquitos, and my husband had to go to the hardware store to purchase an insecticide to kill a colony of ants that had taken over our driveway. I have a "dedicated" account manager who takes doesn't respond via phone, text, or email. I have tried to call the office and the automated recording said the wait time is currently more than 60 minutes. There are ZERO re-service appointments available on the website, even though they promote that they will return if the service is unsatisfactory. After a short period with this company, we have had nothing but issues, but I can't reach the company to cancel our service. They also charge a high cancellation fee, which should not have to be paid if their products do not work, they are unreachable, and their on-site associates are disrespectful when coming to my own home. I would just like to cancel the remaining services without the fee, and get a full or partial refund for my last service as the associate did not complete the full service (including mosquito).Business Response
