The lady at TruGreen has informed me that this case should be sent to aptive environmental. They are a pest company. Sorry for the confusion. What do I need to do to have this pursued to Aptive Environmental ? I thought Aptive Environmental owned TruGreen. My mistake. The contract with Aptive Environmental ended at the end of May 2023 and the withdrawals were from ********************* Members 1st bank account in 06/23 and 08/23. ******** of Middletown is owned by Aptive Hanover. I contacted Aptive in February and his contract was cancelled at the end of May 2023. In June and August of 2023 they continued to automatically withdrawal $189.74 form his account. I contacted them numerous time and they even sent me emails that his account was refunded to Member 1st. I told them the transaction never occurred and verified this with Members 1st. On 2 different occasions in September they told me a check would be sent to my stepfathers home and that never happened either. On Friday September 22, 2023 the checks were supposed to arrive. Last Thursday a gentleman from ******** called my stepfather and said I have some extra treatment on my *********** can stop by and treat your lawn. My stepfather told hime he already had a lawn device. These people have not been to his house all year. I just was to get his money refunded and have exhausted all my resources. After reviewing the account, I can see both of those payments were refunded via check. I checked with our *************************** and they sent the payment out on September 14, 2023, to ****************. At this time, the account has been closed and there is no further obligation to Aptive. As such, Aptive believes this complaint is resolved.
My response to AptiveWere the checks cashed? I check his mail constantly. No checks ever arrived at *********************************************************************** if you check I think you will find those checks were never cashed, so yes you do still have an obligation to refund ****************. This is the second time I have been told that checks were sent. I also was told that *** payments were sent and they never arrived either. Why cant you simply send the *** payments and verify them with Members 1st Credit Union.

I am going to forward 2 emails I received from Aptive. These emails were generated by Aptive and these 2 payments were never refunded to ********************* account at Members 1st ************* Now we have checks that were sent and they never arrived at ********************************************************. Aptive has 2 options:
1) stop payment on the checks sent to ********* ** and resend the checks to *************, ** or...
2) stop payment on the checks sent to ********* ** and send 2 EFT payments to ********************* account and call Members 1st ************ at ************ and verify the payment were credited to **'s account.
******************** has his account information since the automatically withdrew payments from his account.
Hopefully Aptive can perform one of these tasks. I have been trying to correct their mistake for nearly 6 weeks.

Check were mailed on September 12th and never made it to the post office. They stopped payments on those checks and are sending 2 new checks. When I receive the 2 checks I will close this complaint. I feel this company is just taking money from people without doing the proper work.
We signed up with them in May and they came and sprayed our house on the outside but did nothing on the inside saying we would have to wait until the 3rd application to deal with spiders.
They came again in June and right after that we started seeing more bugs in the house so we asked them to return and spray inside. We arranged a date and time and were both home at the correct time but instead they sent a message that their technician had come and no one was home. It's possible but unlikely that neither of us didn't hear the doorbell but we figured it could have been a mistake. This happened again in September when a technician came out and sprayed the outside but we started seeing a lot of little ants in the kitchen. I had to call them 4 times before I reached someone to talk to. Again arranged for a technician to come a few days later and again we were both home and I was waiting in an area where I couldn't possibly miss the even a slight knock on the door. Then I received a text that the technician had come and no one was home. I called and told them that no one had come and they argued that the technician had come and we were at fault and said they would call the technician to go back to the house. I didn't hear anything for over a half hour. I then asked my husband to check the video on our doorbell and no one had ever come to the house that afternoon so the company had lied to us. I called the company back again and they said the technician couldn't come until the next day. By then my husband got involved and called the company back and said if a technician didn't come today he wanted the service cancelled. Now they want us to pay $199. To get out of a dishonest contract. I just feel this is a scam company with many complaints that the local authorities should shut down.Business Response

Aptive began treatment at our home 5/8/23 for $97.31. Our primary concern upon signing up originally was treatment of mosquitos around the pool area. That initial treatment had no effect on the volume of mosquitos that were experienced and needed to be treated again with re-visits to no avail. We were told at that time by Aptive to be patient, that the initial treatment could initially make the mosquitos worse before the issue got better. Taking Aptive at their word, about allowing their treatment to work with additional treatments, we then had a follow up treatment 5/31/23 for $204.36. Once again, this had no effect on the mosquitos around the pool, nor on that visit were 2 hornet and 1 yellowjacket nests treated, which were simply missed by the technician. I cancelled my contract with Aptive during this period of time, within 2.5 weeks of the *** 31st treatment, as there was no visible effect of their *******s. I was told at that time that my account was deactivated and that I would not be responsible for the $199 fee to end the contract. I was then told that they would complete the *** 31st ******* of treating the yellowjacket nest. And I agreed to pay the $204.36 if that last nest was eliminated.Then, without my consent, my account was reactivated to come and eliminate that last nest of yellowjackets, which was still part of the failed and paid ******* of *** 31st. I was then told by Aptive that although the contract was null and void in June, and that all remaining *******s to complete the job from the *** 31st treatment was for that singular yellowjacket nest, that because the account was reactivated without my consent, I would be charged once again with the $199 deactivation fee, otherwise they are threatening to send me to collection.Obviously, this is unacceptable. By having continued pests with no visible result for treatment, Aptive has not lived up to their Guarantee. This makes the former contract, the original, null and void.Business Response

Their product doesnt work and when I tried to cancel they said I have a contract and early termination fees is ******. I was told we can cancel monthly treatments at any time. I then made an agreement after they refused to cancel my account to pay half the amount and they assured me the account will be closed. Had a salesperson (****) show up to the door on September 11. He told me he was going around to the neighbors because they had a truck in the area with availability and could fit in a treatment for a really good rate. Hoped that they did a good job so that we would do business again in the future. We had been having a problem with ants and were considering getting service anyway so it seemed perfect. They came an hour or so later and sprayed, no issues at all. My card was charged what we agreed on. I did not know I was immediately signed up for a TWO YEAR contract and would have to pay $200 to cancel this unknown contract. Never got a text about it, never an email, no physical mail. September 28, today, I get a text from a technician saying he would be coming by to complete another service which I promptly told him not to because 1)it has been less than 3 weeks, 2) I did not sign up for repeat treatments, and 3) I have not seen a real improvement so wasn't going to have them come back. He said ok. I get another text from the company saying I missed a service and contact them to reschedule. I call and was then informed I was on a 2 year contract. I was fuming and told them cancel it now and had them remove my payment info. Now I get another text telling me I substantially underpaid for my initial treatment by $350 dollars and I would also have a $200 balance added to my account. I will be watching my credit card bill and filing complaints/ leaving reviews everywhere possible because no one should have to deal with this.This is beyond shady. This is unacceptable. I am rejecting this response because: I received a response from Aptive informing me that sends each individual a service agreement copy which has 2 notices of cancellation. The problem is I NEVER received a single email, mail, or phone call from Aptive until I made this complaint and called them. I do not accept their email "explanation", they are a highly unethical and crooked company and something needs to be done about it. You can not operate in this manner and take advantage of people.

Aptive sold me a service that has not worked at all since our contract with them. I have tried to contact the sales person who sold me the service and signed the contract with me. I was finally able to reach him today after emails and calls to customer service since May this year. I told him about the poor service received so far and asked him today to cancel my service but he referred me to customer service. He stated he is unable to help to cancel the contract and I would have to contact customer service. When I see the multiple complaints and reviews here on the BBB web page I see experience to be similar such as deceptive sales activities and very poor service, including customer service apathy. Last spring a young man came to my door offering Aptive services. I had a problem with tiny ants in my home so I thought I’d try it. I thought he said I could quit service after the initial treatment plus one follow up treatment. In any case, after paying for several automatic treatments I still had ants so I wanted to cancel. I saw that a treatment was scheduled for August 14 so I called them on August 10 and asked that the August 14 treatment, and all future treatments be canceled, and the lady on the phone assured me this would happen. But Aptive came on August 14 anyway and charged my credit card on file $169.00. I wasn’t home at the time. I called to complain and was told I couldn’t get a refund. I hired aptive to spray for mosquitos on my property. The second time they came a month later the employee told me that they have not had mosquito spray in three months. That is what I hired them to do so they did not uphold their end of the contract and now they are charging me 199 dollars to cancel the contract.

It seems that this young men from West Chicago IL, it’s a scammer. He did signed me up with out my consent. He came and knocked my door, saying that he will give me a promotion, then he said that it only will perform service 2 more times for the rest of the season, NO CONTRACT NEEDED BECAUSE ALMOST WAS THE END OF THE SEASON!!! (He showed up middle of August) he said, there is no contract.
I said I’ll give it a try I gave him my CC and he run it, then I told him, only one time. He said yes.
The second time this guy texted me within 30 min before show up sayin that he will be in my house to perfóreme the service, I was not home. I decided to cancel the service and then I received an email saying that it is a cancellation fee of 199.00 I was like, WHAT!!! I NEVER SIGNED A CONTRACT!!!
They sent me a paper that look like a contract with my initials on that it was not even my hand written!!!!!

He TOOK MY INFO AND HE DID WRITE MY INITIALS AND SIGNED THAT CONTRACT WITHOUT MY CONSENT.

Aptive Pest Control has failed to provide serivces to ** during our last appointment on 9-15-23. Upon review of our Ring doorbell we witnessed the worker not touching our home with any product (he appeared to walk around with the wand in the air). No cobwebs were removed (we have brand new dark siding and can see them very well). We called for a re-service and for the past 2 times each appointment has been canceled within 10 minutes of the service time. We called to ask for a refund for the service ($170) and they said they can not give refunds. They also can not even explain why our appointments have been cancelled. We are still waiting for a worker to actually show up to our house.Business Response
