The company representative agreed with me on a price and ability to stop the service anytime if not satisfied.The service representatives did not provide service one time and provided incomplete service the second time. On 8/11/23, I got "a deal" through Aptive Environmental for pest treatment. Needless to say, the service was terrible and I had to call them back (almost immediately) for treatment and cleaning of the cobwebs. My wife asked for a copy of the contract and service agreement on 11/2/23, which was "not allowed." We had to ask for this request be bumped up to a supervisor. We finally received a copy and noticed that the initials on the contract were not mine. We also noticed the billing address, which was the service address, was correct. On March 9, 2024 we received a statement from A.R.M. Solutions, Inc. (A DEBT COLLECTOR) for $199.00! We NEVER received a bill for this from Aptive. They had the correct address. We have NEVER in our 70 years had a bill sent to a bill collector. SHAME ON YOU!!!!!Business Response

Adaptive pest control has been providing me services for a little over a year. The did a door to door sales and tricked me into a 2 year contract. I’ve been dealing with their crappy availability for services which they promise to provide every 3 months. Last time they said the visited my home and serviced it but I was home that day and no one ever knocked or rang the door bell. In fact they rolled up in the driveway and left 5 mins later. Too many instances keep happening like this. They automatically schedule you and tell you 3 days prior and when that doesn’t work they can reschedule but it will be 2.5 months out. I’ve asked to cancel many times but cannot because of the $199 fee to cancel. This company is awful and no one should use it! Sneaky tactics and inability to work with your schedule. I just want to be free of their contract so I can hire an actual real pest control company.Business Response

Last year July 2023 I have moved from Fox Pest Control to Aptive Pest Control based on they going to provide me same service and products they are using are all natural at the same price and Sales Rep said .. give them a chance to offer their service at the same price. I was paying around $63 ($60 for Service + $3 for Taxes) , Now when i see my credit card bills Aptive is charging me $159 ( $150 service + $9 for taxes ). Who in the world is going to pay more than 2 times for same set of service. When i called Aptive Customer Service, they are saying i have signed that contract and it has my digital initials... Its a SCAM, I have never signed up for $159 for the service where I was paying earlier $63. Aptive is not ready to refund overchanged amount and they are ready to lower my monthly to $79. Why should I pay extra, If I am getting same service for $63 ? Nothing extras !! This is SCAMming customer and charging unreassonably higher price.Business Response

**** deceptive business practice. I was sold by a door to door salesman for a treatment of mosquitos, flies and outside bugs. He was deceptive in many ways, did not make it clear that this was a membership with a $199 cancelation fee as well he told us that our neighbors across the street, next door and up the street (AND HE REFERED TO THEM BY NAME) were customers and very happy with the service. We were talking to our neighbors a month or so later and asked them how they liked Aptive.. they were like "WHAT" they never heard of them and were not customers of this company.I was told someone would come do a thorough treatment, inspect plants, bring traps, etc, but instead some college kid (with seemingly no training) came and did a 10 minute spray. He did not have any mosquito traps as promised. One the second service, the guy they came and it was pouring out and the guys sprayed the entire front steps, landing and all over the sidewalk this white power. There was so much it was puddling in the water. Then they never showed up throughout the summer as schedules. I called and again received a 10 minute visit and we continued to be overrun with pincher bugs and this was one thing they said they took care of **** bad service, I called serveral times and finally asked for a Supervisor and they said they were one I tried to cancle and she said there would be a charge of $199 fee. We had to call our credit card company cand cancel the card and they then continue to call us and send emails.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: Both my husband and myself feel that they did not provide the service that they stated they would. When they would come to spray they were at the property maybe10 minutes and we have a large piece of property. There were times they did not show up at all when scheduled. I feel that owe us reimbursment back of $400.00 which was taken out of our AMEX card.
As of last week, we received a message from them to please give them our bank information as the payment did not go through. We feel that this could have been resoved if the person we spoke to the several times
we called would have put a supervisor on the phone.

This company did contact me via email, and I have not spoken to them via phone. She claims to have left me 3 messages and I do not have one from them AT ALL.
Aptive has a history of saying thing that are not truth and they came to the conclusion that they will wave the $199. Fee.
my husband and I cancled the credit card so they couldnt continue to put the charge through.
We are asking for a reimbursement if $400.00 for service thst were not fully rendered and I have had the experience of calling them previously with Mo resolution as to why I filed this complaint.
I have no idea where they can say we came to an agreementThey dont even have my husbands name spelled correctly it or ********** which I had corrected several times thought the summer season if 2023

At this point I am not sure what to do.
This company started out deceptively getting my business telling us that they did several of our neighbors.
Over the summer, they did not show up when they were suppose to, and when they first treatment I was promised a thourough treatment throughout the property, which consisted of 10 minutes.
I called them to tell them not to come back in the spring and that is when they flooded me with texts saying "your next appointment is this date" i would tell them not to come and they would threaten us to charge our AMEX $199.00 so that is when we finally cancled out credit card. I asked several times for a supervisor etc. With no help to resolve this problem which is why I turned to the BBB.
Now they are telling as I read their response that they talked to us and this was amicably settled, I have not talked to them at all! I did receive an email telling me they would wave the $199. cancelation fee.
However, I think they owe us more than that.... I can't prove my phone calls, I can prove that none of my neighbors use them, but I can't prove that their salesman lied to us to get our business....
We are 70 years old and I think it is ashamed that companies come to your door, lie to sell you a product and then do not carry through
We paid this in good faith, gave them out credit card etc.

I hired Aptive Environmental when they were located in **********, **, over 5 years ago, and I have had problems ever since, thinking it would get better all the time, except when they moved to ***** and ******, where corporate offices were located there. Several times, I needed to contact services when it was going to rain, and they did not want to respect my requests, especially during the last two years. This past month, we have had extensive rain, and I had to request changes of dates again, and then no date, since the rain has been unpredictable in my area. Thus, there was no scheduled date, but they decided to schedule a date without my approval, as I had just canceled it on February 28, 2024, and they decided to schedule for March 5, when I had informed them I would let them know when it would be alright to come out. They came out anyway on March 5, saying they had informed me. Yes, they sent a message on the evening of the 4th, and I did receive a phone message that a person, ******, was on his way. I was not home, and do not know if services were performed. Now, I had asked them not to come out last week for this week, and they did it anyway. In a phone conversation with them today, I was told I would be charged $69.00 anyway because they came out. I have no proof they actually came out since they always send me photos via text and leave a bill. Neither had occurred, but I had also canceled and informed them today, March 6th, how I was not going to pay for the services since I had not approved them. They have no right to come to my home and perform services when I had not scheduled them, as I had emails where they would not be scheduled until I had contacted them, and they did it anyway. When are they going to start listening to the customer!! I would like to have the services they believe I should pay them for reversed. I closed my account with them over the phone. The company has consistently ignored requests for notification of visits. Results of product is ineffective.Today, when I made it clear that I wanted to end the service, the agent said she couldnt hear me and hung up. The line was very clear and I was hearing every she said. It was obviously a con.She said I could pay for the last application by check but would have to use a credit card to cancel. As other complaints that have been filed, there was complete misrepresentation from initial salesman. I was told treatment costs would be less than my previous service, but instead it was substantially more. They told me their chemicals were better so they needed to treat less and they strategically treated at times when pests were the worst like spring and summer, less in winter. Again, not true. They sent me a service reminder the day before it was scheduled so i couldnt reschedule or cancel. I went to cancel them and they said I owed a $199 early cancel fee for discount on initial service which would place that service cost around $400-completely absurd. Who would agree to a bug service treatment for $400? I feel completely scammed and this business should be ashamed/shut down for their dishonest practices. I am 51 years old and this is the first and only complaint I have ever filed with the BBB.Business Response

A sales person came by our house and said hes offering a great deal since he already serviced 13 houses in our neighbor and he has left over solution. His name was ***********************. He offered approximately $50 for the initial fee, and 3 more treatments, which he said costs $40 for each treatment. He said a total would be $182.94 for all treatments combined. He sent me the contract by email after he left. However, after I just checked my bank account and $129 was charged for just the first treatment and now I realized he wrote $129 per treatment on the contract, and he even put 6 treatments instead of 3. I reached out to the support team and they said they cannot provide a refund since the first service was already done. They just cancelled the contract and charged me $199 for the cancellation fee. I signed up for this service on 6/17/23 with the agreement that the initial service would be provided within a few days and I would be contacted within a few weeks to schedule my next service. After a month of no contact, I went to the customer portal to schedule service and the schedule was full as far as it went out. I then called with no answer. This continued until after the contracted requirement of the contractually required 20 to 60 days and had to treat my how by myself. I was finally able to contact someone and they offered to send someone out in a few days. I asked to cancel the service and they said I would have to pay the early termination fee. I explained that they had violated the contract and they proceeded to close my account. I received no final invoice or any indication that they were still charging me the cancelation fee and within a few weeks I received a notice from a collection agency. Since they violated the contract and I had to spend $200 on pest control for myself there should be no termination fee.Business Response
