Dear Better Business Bureau,I am writing to urgently report egregious misconduct by Aptive Environmental. My experience with this company has been nothing short of a nightmare, and I implore you to take immediate action.Initially, I sought to cancel my service due to an upcoming move. However, what I discovered left me outraged. Aptive failed to disclose a $199.00 cancellation fee, and worse yet, I am trapped in a 24-month contracta fact that was conveniently hidden from me during the sign-up process.When I contacted customer service, their behavior was deceptive and manipulative. Despite my clear explanation of relocation plans, the representative insisted I continue the service or place it on hold. Then, out of nowhere, they dropped the bombshell: I had unknowingly entered into a 24-month contract, with only 20 months completed. Threatening me with the cancellation fee, they left me feeling betrayed and helpless.Furthermore, the quality of Aptives service remains questionable. I believed I could seek a refund for subpar service, but that hope was shattered. Their practices are unscrupulous, and I refuse to be held hostage by a company that lacks integrity.I have lost faith in Aptive Environmental. I now demand justice. This experience has been a colossal waste of time and money, and I will never recommend their services to anyone.Please treat this matter with the urgency it deserves. Very deceptive business practice. I have requested Aptive to cancel my services many times, via email, but they insist on applying their ineffective service by deception. Results of the product is ineffective. Aptive has not lived up to expectations, THEY SIMPLY LIE TO GET BUSINESS. This is the absolute worst pest control company I have ever engaged.They applied the service without my request. I left two voice mails after I was transferred to the customer service line. I never signed up for the business for this year. I challenge them to show a contract or an authorization even to be around my house. Furthermore, they are avoiding to answer why their service is ineffective. They declined to answer why the calls haven't been returned and that their customer service can't solve problems and just they transfer calls to a people who do not answer or return calls

Sincerely,Although I marked it as satisfied with resolution just to close the case, which is ultimately what Aptive is looking for, but this business is dishonest of what they offer and what they really deliver. Sales man will tell you something and the contract says something else. I would blame my wife who signed this contract based on the sale's man explanation without knowledge of contract terminology or without reviewing the the terms which turned out to be a fake disposition. On the other side, we called and cancelled this contract, and one proof they can look back to 2023 last time's service(I think it was in July 2023), after that and until they decided to show up after texting us we called twice to remind them not to come, as this service is worthless and doesn't satisfy our needs, but the customer service forwarded me twice to a phone where they ask you to leave a message which we did twice and nobody cared to return the calls. Simply they wanted to send their service man to collect the money. Finally, my wife wanted a pest service company to take care of the mosquitos , bees and ants to which they said they do and to which we found out that the contract says otherwise, a legal misrepresentation, a ******* clear fact that you can't trust this company.

This is a scam. What was presented with the first agent is not close to the current service they claimed to provide The amounts being charged are also not what was presented. The contract they presented was extremely confusing and purposely vague.I watched the last person that came to provide their pest control service through my Ring camera and he only walked around the front yard with his sprayer and sat in his truck most of the time. I was charged for services that were not providing as per our agreement. Aptive was supposed to notify me before they perfomed services at my house as I have a locked gate to my backyard. If the gate is not unlocked, they can not do the work. Currently, I am out of town. I received a bill saying they had been to my house on March 15th. I wasn't notified and I wasn't there. I rec'd a bill for $133. This is the 2nd time this has happened. I called the company and said I wanted to cancel their services. They agreed to letting me cancel but said I still owed them money as supposedly someone came to the house. Bottom line, even if someone had come to my house, they could NOT do the work that I was paying them for.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:They said they had texted me. If they did, it was on my landline with no texting. When I was out of town, I received two emails from them asking how I liked their service. I thought it was an advertising ploy. There was nothing that said they would be coming to my house. When I signed with this company, I let them know that I had a locked gate and needed to be notified. That was part of MY agreement with them. This is the second time this has happened. I don't trust them. I paid $133 as I don't want them to ruin my credit rating but it was money that they did not deserve. I have cancelled furthre service with this company.

I was approached by a very aggressive door to door salesman, for what I thought would be 4 outside services for the year, and was never told of a $199.00 service cancelation fee. I was told I could cancel anytime if I was not satisfied. I have contacted customer service several times over the last several months via phone, e-mail, and text about canceling my service. The last service was in January and per my last conversation with customer service would be my last and there would be no other charges. SCAM This company is very DECEPTIVE. They go door to door knocking. A very young kid named Kyle came offering to try their products for $49 no commitment I specifically asked if I could cancel at anytime. He said I can call customer service and cancel by giving them any excuses. I let them come several times and paid quarterly until I decided not to use them as the product is not worth it. The salesperson said I could cancel anytime, when I called they said I had to pay $199 for a cancellation fee which obviously they did not explained or I wouldn’t agreed to that. Customer service manager VERY RUDE. I want them to remove this $199 membership fee or whatever they want to call it from y account. Please Help! In Aug 2023, my Aptive technician was out for my normal service with special attention to an area on the back of my house where there was a lot of wasp activity. In the process, he knocked the cover off the vent exhaust on the back of my house. It has been over 6 months and they have still not fixed the hole and now I have critters living inside the walls of my house. I am unable to get anyone to resolve the issue.Business Response

Aptive initially promised a 1-year contract, but the documentation reflects an 18-month term. When a door-to-door sales representative visited our neighborhood, four of us signed up for their services on the same day. Interestingly, the contracts were inconsistent: two were set for a year, while the others, including mine, were mistakenly set for 18 months. Although Aptive acknowledged and corrected this discrepancy for one of my neighbors, they have refused to do the same for me.
Now, over 20 months have passed, exceeding the duration of both the supposed 1-year and 18-month contracts. Despite this, Aptive is unwilling to terminate my contract, citing my failure to meet a service quota—a stipulation that was never mentioned in any contract presented to me. At the time of agreement, I was not provided with a physical copy of the contract; everything was signed digitally on an iPad by the sales representative. This lack of transparency feels particularly deceptive, especially as they now introduce new terms and conditions that were never disclosed to me initially.
Moreover, as I have raised complaints, it seems they are attempting to retroactively adjust the agreement, adding terms not present in the original document they now show in my account on their website. I have attached the agreement provided by them for your review, which notably does not mention the requirement to purchase a specific number of services throughout the term of the contract. This situation feels increasingly like a deliberate act of deception, with Aptive modifying agreements to suit their narrative rather than adhering to fair and transparent business practices.
Aptive's conduct appears contradictory: they insist that I am bound by the contract, yet they have also sent me a notice of price increase, despite the contract stipulating a fixed price. Their actions seem inconsistent and raise questions about their adherence to the terms they themselves have established.Business Response
