I have signed up with Aptive for a 1 year service. I was specifically told that if I cancelled in that year I would be chargde a cancellation fee, basically the difference between the promo fee and the original fee. During that one year of service the reps would come out when they scheduled the time and spend about 10 to *** 15 min on the property. The year has passed and I called to cancel my contact. I was told that the contract was actually for more services than just a year. I was never explained that, because if I would have been I would have never signed up for the service. I cancelled today and was chargded $199, as a cancellation fee. I feel that this is misrepresentation of service and contract when initially sold as a 1 year contract. I would never do business with this company again.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:When I spoke to your customer service there was no mention of the May expiration date, and was only told that I had to have 12 services in that time period, which is also very ridiculous as we are in **. I am not sure what sevices can be done during rain and snow. Second I have followed all of your scheduled services and your service people would spend about 10 minutes on my property and every time I properly have paid for that service.

I have had continuous issues with them. Scheduling, service and payments. They notify me the day before they are coming and most of the time I have to reschedule due to not having the funds available. Then today, I get a text that they thank me and charged my account. But looking at the pictures it was the wrong home. I work from home and no one ever showed up. So I was ****** that I got charged and whoevers home that was got a free service. I paid $199 to cancel the whole thing. Im done with the issues. But I want them to reimburse me the cancellation amount of $199.00 since I have consistently had issues.Business Response

We received a less than 24 hour notice that our service was scheduled for the next day, only 6 weeks after our prior service (we are on a quarterly plan). We declined the service and asked to be rescheduled for two months later. The following day, we received notice that our service had been completed. However, at the time of the supposed service, we were home and no technician or service truck was present on our property. We have always received texts to let us know a technician was on the way, were able to speak to the technician prior to treatment, and received a text follow up with pictures when service was completed. None of this happened in this case. After the email was received that service was completed on this date, we also checked our property and there was no evidence that treatment had been completed. We reached out to customer service via phone and were told originally that there was nothing they could do because the service was marked completed on their end. I was eventually told that they would speak to a supervisor and follow up in an hour. I never received a follow up and eventually reached out via email a week later. I was again told that there was nothing they could do. After three attempts I was able to cancel my plan but have not received a refund for the service that was not completed and am now disputing the charge with my bank.Business Response

Aptive Environmental is a total scam of a company, they knocked on my door and offered service for $49. The young man rushed through the process and promised it was compromise free and it could be cancelled any time. It was my surprise when I started getting recurring monthly bills from the company for 99 they promised they would come for follow-up treatments, never showed up, claimed they came and nobody was home, I work from home, I’m always home. After 2 months of back and forth and a single visit from them on sign up I called to cancel I was told I owed them an additional 199 to cancel with them. I agreed and instead of them billing me, sending me an invoice via mail or email to collect payment they just sent me to collections. They are a scummy company and nobody should do business with them, buyer beware. Total amount paid to them was 49 at sign up, monthly fee of 99 with no visits and they requested a cancellation fee of 199 which they just sent me to collections for. SCAM!Business Response

The most dishonest business I've ever worked with. Ineffective, and full of hidden fees.Their door to door sales people tell a good story, but service is lacking and billing process is incredibly deceptive. The service was not effective for us, and when I tried to cancel I was charged an extra month for a service that hadn't been completed (which I think is illegal) and also charged a hidden cancellation fee. Tried to resolve with customer service, but the cancellation fee was hidden in the contract, despite the sales rep claiming otherwise.Proceed with caution.Business Response

Sadly I looked up this company after I had already been scammed. May 11 2023 they came door to door promising pest control for 169$ a treatment and a cancel at any time service. Also they said they would spray the entire house and up to an **** of yard. Of all the technicians that came out to spray and respray none of them have ever sprayed the yard, every time they spray the ants come into our house! I was literally told it would be better to buy something off the shelf for the ants in our house as Aptive doesn't have anything to fix that. I have been trying and trying to cancel and they refuse but offer more free sprays. I don't know why I would have anything sprayed by them when they did not uphold there contract in the first place but expect me to. It has been a year and I have given them multiple tries.Business Response

A young man came to my door about this service and said he was working on the next door neighbor's home doing pest control. There was a first time fee of $29 and then it would be $99 every 3 months. There was no contract to be signed because I was very specific that since I was not working, I could not sign one. He said, nope, no contract. So they came the following week and did the first treatment. I paid for that, no problem. 2 weeks later they contacted me that they need to come and do a follow up. I declined it because that's not what was told to me. So, they keep trying to come every month. I then found out that there IS A CONTRACT FOR 18 MONTHS. The worst part is, he signed me up for the PREMIUM SERVICE which means they come every month. Now, why would I do this with no employment? To top this off, since I had made a payment online for the initial service, they are now doing automatic drafts from my bank account for $161. I called and spoke to the supervisor, she said they do docusign for the contract and the only way I can cancel is if I pay $199. They claim to have pictures that they did a service. I wouldn't know, I was not home on the so called date that they claim to have come in. I'm so frustrated with this whole process. This is illegal to withdraw money without peoples consent. In fact, the initials on the document are not my initials either. This is fraudulent. Instead of looking into their employees behavior, they say I signed it. I did not sign ANYTHING with this company. We talked verbally. I need my money refunded. I'm on a fixed income and can't afford this. In fact, I don't want any more pest control services from this company after this.Business Response

BEWARE! As others have reported I too was suckered in by a salesman that came knocking on my door. He described several different things that would happen at my first appointment, so I decided to agree to the service. On the day of the service, the tech was onsite for no more than 10 mins. We were told the tech would let us know when he was done with the perimeter of the house and move into the garage so that we could place our dog inside the house. He did none of that. Seeing that none of what I was promised was done, I cancelled any future visits. I sent an email to ******** with Aptive to whom I expressed my concerns to. I was told I could cancel at any time with no penalties. She replied letting me know that I did not need to worry about the cancellation fee. I am now receiving notices and calls from a collection agency for $199.00. This company is unprofessional and does not do what they promise.Business Response

THey are NOT permitted to be soliciting in the city limits, when I asked about their permit they were allusive. I also have a posted NO SOLICITING SIGN, that they disregarded and knocked on my door anyways!
