This company is a mess! MLM style salesman with a trash product. Never saw much of a change in the insect problem, they text you a day before coming out and the messaging system is so frustrating. Now they want $199 dollars to cancel. Please help!Business Response

I signed a contract with Aptive in May of 2020 for quarterly basic service. Without notice, they increased the service and billing rate from quarterly to bi-monthly. They also upgraded by plan to premium without approval. They eventually refunded $100 for the difference between basic and premium for this year, but not previous years. They refused to refund the difference between quarterly and bimonthly. Very dishonest practices.Business Response

On November 20th, 2023, I cancelled my account with ******************** over the phone due to poor service. I was assured by the rep I spoke with, that after my final payment of $112.00 to him my account would be closed. To my surprise, I received a past due bill of $233.00 in April 2024 from a collection agency called A.R.M. ********** **** I have forwarded to both Aptive and A.R.M. a dispute for this bill. Aptive did not cancel my account as requested in November 2023. I have provided the bank phone transaction copy of November 20th 2023, my final bill to Aptive and A.R.M. I should not be held responsible for any bills or late fees after that date. Aptive has threatened my credit and has not been honest about my account cancelation. This should not happen to anyone else and people should be warned about Aptive. They have numerous complaints in many states to the BBB regarding their deceptive business practices.Business Response

Two young men came to our door selling Aptive contracts. One was very nasty and we asked them both to leave. A few hours later one of the young men came back. He did apologize for his partner and then proceeded to talk to us about this product. We were skeptical and in hindsight should have went with our instincts. We did wind up getting a contract with them that included 6 treatments. We also had one stipulation that they would come when we were at home because have pets, he agreed. The treatments included mosquito control as well. The first treatment went well, they covered all of the areas that were expected. During the next treatment they did not use the mosquito treatment, he said because it was going to rain so there was no use doing it (we contacted the company to let them know this). The next few times they came when we were not home and did not treat all of the areas stated in the contract. We do have cameras so we were able to see that they spent all of 3 minutes during a treatment. Each time it cost almost $200! Finally the last straw was when they said they were coming back for another treatment ( which now would have been the 7th treatment). We called the company and they said the 1st treatment didnt count so technically we have one initial and only 5 treatments. Hmmm I thought 5 + 1 = 6 Would not recommend! This company has deceptive practices. A young man came to my door and offered a 9 month obligation period for $49 per month. Then a week or so later I got an email for my servo e contract for a full year. I called an complained and Im still stuck with this service. *** tried to work with them but its horrible. Their product doesnt work as well. I want to be released from the contact and do not want anyone from this company to set foot on my property ever again.Business Response

I was provided an incomplete service. The employee says he sprayed out back yard for bugs and everything look great. However, my security cameras show he didnt step foot near my backyard. My contract had ended and I when I signed up the man told me it wouldnt auto renew(to a year contract), which it didnt but they were charging me monthly without me asking. That Im not as upset with, I called to cancel because of the lie and they had just charged me for the next service however since I canceled they told me they couldnt provide it. So not only did they lie to me they took over $100 for a service not provided.Business Response

Ive been charged hundreds of dollars for services that were not properly completed but to be charged and not even come to spray is a whole different issue. Highly disappointed and wish I would have just bought home defense from Lowes.

A representative showed up at my house and said that my neighbors had hired them and that they wanted to see if I would like their service as well. After talking and going over a few things, I signed up. Never was I told about any cancellation fee, and asked about cancelling and was told that I could at any time. After watching my ring camera footage I saw that they didnt actually spray much of anything and just walked the perimeter of my yard for 10 minutes and left. This was while I was at work. I called to cancel my account, but they didnt take my card off file and continued to try to setup appointments and charge me for services I didnt want. I called back again and finally got them to remove my card. At that time I was not told of any cancellation fee. Fast forward a week or two and I started getting emails about a $199 cancelation fee which I wasnt about to pay because it was never discussed. Im now getting calls from a creditor. Oh, and my neighbors were NOT clients either, so they lie to people to get their money. Worthless company and worthless service.Business Response

This company is a scam!! I was told by my salesperson that came to my door that I was only responsible to pay for the service once annually and that I could cancel at anytime for any reason. I asked multiple times in multiple ways to make sure that this was true, bc the document he wanted me to sign was unclear on this. He told me the contract says the same thing for everyone and is a formality, but he is noting on my contract that I am only responsible for 1x per year and I can pay for extra treatments as needed. He was a complete liar and scammer. They were coming to my house every 6 weeks or so even after I told them not to and to cancel my membership. I told them I no longer wanted this service and would not be paying for any future treatments. Not only was it ridiculously expensive, but it only helped for a couple days each time. Finally after speaking to several different agents and being lied to about my contract being canceled, they finally left me alone. This was probably 9 months ago and today I just received a notice from a bill collector for services that I told them I didn't want!! I will be seeking legal counsel if this isn't rectified by either canceling this bill collection or refunding me the amount they are asking for. It may cost more than the bill, but out of principle, I refuse to give this scummy company another dime.Business Response
