Since signing up with Aptive in June 2024, we have had multiple issues with their services. Our contract includes rodents and when I requested that the tech simply refill our bait stations outside as part of the rodent control, only one of them agreed to do so. The others said it was not included even though I looked back and noted that it was in our contract. We now have more spiders and even millipedes (we have not had any millipedes since we started living here in 2018!) and this is over the course of 4 months of treatments. We had a prior pest control company and never had this many issues. On the last appointment, they did the treatment while I was not home (that is fine with me). However, I never received the text messages images showing that they did it. Additionally, I had checked my camera and nobody was there.I have canceled my service but they are charging $199. This is not fair as they breached their end of the contract by not completing the services as outlined in the contract. We are now having to spend additionally money trying to manage the pests ourselves and have this ridiculous fee as a result of their negligence. All I want is to cancel the account with no fee. Beware! This company is a scam.Business Response

Aptive Pest Control came door to door and offered to provide me pest control services. As I had seen ants in the house I expressed an interest and an agreement was made for preliminary treatments. A preliminary appointment seemed fairly thorough and I was not unhappy.Subsequently Aptive have been sending agents around the house to perform continuing treatment. Occasionally this has been while I was out of the house. This week I was lucky enough to be in the house when this Aptive treatment occurred. I was able to see a young man come out of his van, step up to my front door and spray some liquid for 3 seconds. A friend was also parked in the drive as I was being picked up, she was also able to see that he took literally a few seconds to carry out his "treatment". I then immediately received an email describing a significant amount of work all around the perimeter of my house, which had not occurred.I emailed Aptive to say I was not happy with their "service" and wished to cancel. I was told that I was contractually locked into a 9-treatment course of pest control and given that I had not completely 9 treatments I would be charged a further $199 for cancellation. Given that I have seen that these so-called treatments are not actually happening as advertised, I think they should waive the $199 and probably refund some of the $179 fees they have been regularly levying on me for work that has not actually been carried out.Business Response

I decided to try an exterminator. After two unsuccessful services for spraying for bugs, I cancelled my service. I then get a bill for $199.00 and a threat to my credit report for a termination fee. This was the first time I heard about a fee. The first spraying did not work that great. The second time more time was spent casing my property than spraying. I still had home intrusion. Nothing was ever spoke to me about a cancellation fee. On local forums allot of people are unhappy with Aptive and their aggressive tactics! I spent over $300.00 for 2 visits at 20 minutes per visit. I am not paying $199.00 for a cancellation of service!!!!!Business Response

They claimed I signed a contract for service. I never signed anything. They keep comping to my residence to spray for bugs and bill me. I paid for the few times they came and sprayed since that is fair. However, I tried to tell them no to come to my house, but they keep texting and calling me to schedule a service. I tried to call them and tell them I never signed a contract and to show me the one I signed. They do not have it. They won't stop harassing me to come to my house. I tried to call Corporate to cancel and they won't let me cancel unless I pay a fee. I need to pay them to stop bothering me?Business Response

In July 2024, a salesperson with Aptive Enviromental visited our home and offered an one time pest control service at a promotional rate of $49.99, provided we signed up that same day. We were intrigued by Aptive's offerings, particularly their assurance of treating mosquitoes and various other pests in our backyard. I mentioned that we had been loyal customers of another company for several years. Nevertheless, he insisted that his company could provide significantly more for just $80 per month ( after promotional price of $49.99).The second treatment took place in August, and I was billed $175.00. When I inquired about this charge, I was informed that I had enrolled in the $175 Pro plan. I contested this amount, and they proposed a reduced monthly fee of $140, which I *********** early September, I attempted to cancel the service due to the ongoing $175.00 charges, which contradicted the promised $80.00 rate from the salesperson,( T. Pine). I was also told that I could not cancel services unless I called from the telephone number I used when I signed up for services. On October 7, 2024, I called again to terminate the services and was informed that I would need to pay $199.00 for not fulfilling the six-month contract requirement. I paid $199.00 so that I no longer have to do business with shady Aptive.Business Response

I have paid $99 for spraying for ants but they say I owe $199 for the next year. I was not told of this extension and I have refused any other service from Aptive. Now they have turned it over to collection.
I want them stop bugging me and stop any collection activity.Business Response

This summer, I was approached by a salesman at my door stating they were in the neighborhood and were doing bug removal/prevention for homes for $50. They stated that they were in the area from Rochester hills and the more homes they serviced made it worth their drive.
I agreed to the $50 bug removal, but did not realize I was actually being locked in to a 2 year contract which would cost me $139 a month or $199 to cancel the contract.
The kid at my door had an iPad and ran the transaction on my credit card. At no point was the $139 a month after the initial $50 service mentioned and no paperwork was give me at that time.
He also told me that I could cancel at anytime, but failed to mention that it would cost $199 if I did cancel.
Once the transaction for $50 was ran, I received a welcome email which also did not mention that this was a 2 year contract at $139 a month.
The ENTIRE process felt like a dishonest scam. There must be fine print somewhere stating this information but I have yet to find it. It is not easily accessible and unless you know to look for it you fall victim to this company. I feel very taken advantage of.Business Response

I had canceled an appointment with this company. This is happened many times and the technician still shows up does not do the service as agreed-upon and I get a full charge. Always my responsibility to call them back. Let them know. I canceled have to prove that I canceled and then I have to show the ring camera that the service was not done. This is happened more than once. They are now chasing me for $148 when the service as promised was not done, they are fraudulent and deceptive in their practices.Initial Complaint

The gentleman came to my door. Said he would give me a special price of $100 per treatment. I said ok, but I am in the process of selling my house. He said that's fine you can cancel anytime if you sell it and move. I said ok that sounds good. Fast forward to now. My house is sold and I no longer need the service. So I contacted the company and they said you need to fulfill the contract or we will have to charge you $199 to cancel. And they also locked me out of my account so I can no longer see any invoices or even the contract. Very diseptive business practices.Business Response
