1 starI am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with Vivint Smart Homes service regarding my cancellation request. I have been attempting to cancel my contract since June, but despite multiple attempts to resolve the issue, my cancellation remains incomplete.Since my initial request, I have contacted Vivint's customer service team several times, both via phone and email. Each time, I was assured that the cancellation would be processed promptly, yet no action has been taken on your end. It is incredibly frustrating to continuously follow up without receiving a ************* date, I have not received any confirmation of cancellation, nor has any of my billing stopped, despite my repeated attempts to confirm the status of the cancellation. I find this level of service unprofessional and unacceptable. I am being charged for a service I no longer wish to use, and I feel as though my concerns are being ignored.I would appreciate immediate confirmation that my contract has been fully canceled, and that all billing has ceased. I expect this matter to be handled swiftly, and for Vivint to take responsibility for the ongoing inconvenience caused by this delay. Please treat this as an urgent matter, and I request a written confirmation of the cancellation at your earliest convenience. If this issue is not resolved promptly, I will be forced to escalate the matter through other channels.Review fromDaniel H

1 starI am writing to formally file a complaint against Vivint regarding unethical and misleading sales practices. I believe Vivint's sales representatives used deceptive tactics to pressure customers into signing contracts that are properly explained and mislead ********************************* door-to-door sales representative aggressively pressured us into making an immediate purchase decision. The representative misrepresented several important aspects of the contract, including the financing terms, the ability to cancel at any time, the length of the agreement, and the overall costs involved. We were led to believe that we were receiving a limited-time offer that included three free months of servicea promotion that was never honored. The representative created a false sense of urgency, insisting that we had to sign the contract immediately to receive these benefits. Additionally, they claimed the installation needed to begin immediately to secure these offers, leaving us with little time to review or understand the contracts terms. After reluctantly agreeing, the installation technician arrived and performed a subpar installation that took nearly eight hours. Despite this, the equipment still does not work properly. To make matters worse, when I requested more time to think over the decision, the representative continued to pressure us and downplayed the importance of reviewing the agreement thoroughly. It became clear that critical information about cancellation policies, equipment fees, and long-term obligations had either not been explained properly or had been misrepresented ************* a result of these unethical tactics, I am now locked into a lengthy contract with significant financial implications that I did not fully consent to due to the misleading sales process.I am seeking the following resolutions:Immediate cancellation of my contract without penalty.A refund of any fees or charges incurred as a result of these deceptive sales practices.Review fromRobin N

1 starI have been trying to cancel service since July. I keep getting drafted and they keep telling me that they are canceling the service but never do. As far as I am concerned they are no better than a low life scam artist.Review fromRodante D

1 starI strongly warn anyone considering Vivint Smart Home. My experience has been a disaster of poor service, deceptive financing, and serious privacy concerns. On October 10, 2024, three Vivint technicians came to my ******* home to install my system. One technician suspiciously took my WiFi credentials and left without explanation. After hours of struggling to get their equipment to work with my Xfinity WiFi, they left at 7:30 pmwithout completing the job.The next day, I called to cancel, frustrated with the issues and lack of completion, but was ignored. Only later did I realize Id been signed up for a financing agreement with *******, locking me into a credit trap if I canceled. Vivint had pushed this financing, claiming it was affordable, when in reality it was a tactic to lock me into their subpar service at an exorbitant price.A month later, after multiple ignored calls, another technician arrived, displaying alarming behavior. He took photos of my control panel, including PIN codes, and asked to enable WPS on my routera major security risk. I declined, and he grew hostile, refused to show an ID, and pointed out that some equipment was still missing. He left, saying hed return but never did. Later, customer service confirmed he marked the job as complete.Vivints service is an absolute nightmare: missing equipment, no accountability, outrageous pricing, and terrible customer support. The entire system seems designed to trap customers with misleading financing agreements while delivering a half-baked, unreliable product that jeopardizes privacy and security. Vivint is more interested in locking people into expensive, long-term contracts than actually providing effective home security. Id strongly advise anyone to look elsewhereVivint is a dangerous, overpriced risk thats simply not worth it. I would never recommend Vivint to anyone who values their privacy, security, or hard-earned money. This companys practices are nothing short of predatory.Review fromTrevor S

1 starThey have no properly functioning cancellation process as far as I can tell. The cancellation policy was to send an email with a specific Subject and information in the body requesting to cancel my services. After paying off all my equipment I sent the email and received a confirmation receipt in return. I follow up 40 days later via phone call and asked for a status. Still not done cancelling my policy but was told not to worry because any charges accrued during this window "would be waved". Fast forward several months and now I have a collection agency coming after me. Clearly their process for policy cancellation is suspect and I believe needs a little investigation to see if their are any predatory practices in place. They seem to prey on people who forget, or better yet, TRUST a company will follow through on their policy procedures one the customer has done their part. For a company that made over $1 billion in 2022 how are all these negative reviews and some truly troubling reports going unchecked? Avoid Vivint like the plague.Review fromLatisha M

1 starDon't EVER use this company! They will steal your money. I was selling my house, try to cancel my service, was told that I had to pay of equipment first. Which I did, called them back told them it was done and would like to cancel. Gave them the conf number of the payoff for camera. Was told ok everything was good. That was in June, fast-forward to November. I wake up to 3 charges from them. Totalling over $300. Call them, got the run around ( talk to 5 different people). First they tried to tell me that I never paid of the equipment but when I confirmed it with the email saying it was paid off, they then changed it to I never called. When I told them the day and time( I wrote it down) that I called to cancel, they told me it wasn't put in the computer and I still had to pay and they would not be refunding my money! They are a fraud, they will STEAL your money. Please be advised to stay away from them.Review fromTyranny E

1 starThis literally has been nothing but trouble! Within the first 24 hours of installing, my devices/app had issues. Continuously goes offline, but everything else in my house hold (that work with wifi) works just fine !!! I call in the issues and they send a tech to hard reboot and reset nothing gets fixed i continue to have issues. I have had 2 break in attempts, only 1 camera was able to get the guys running bc my neighbor happen to be outside at the time and scare them away. My dvr doesn't work the picture/video quality isn't any better ! And as I am waiting for police to arrive i can't download or share the video from tonight. And I called it in to vivint to ask them, since I was not able to download or share thr footage for the police if they could save it for me. They answered "we don't have that footage " they can only view live footages for privacy issues. THE ONLY REASON I GOT RID OF MY LAST SECURITY SYSTEM WAS BECAUSE I WAS TIRED OF HAVING TO CHANGE OUT THE BATTERIES!!! IM PAYING **** MORE FOR DEVICES AND SYSTEM THAT DOESN'T WORK! BUT THEY WANT ME TO GO BY WHAT THE CONTRACT SAYS TO PAY? BUT THEY ARE NOT HOLDING UP THEIR END BY PROVIDING "QUALITY WORKING SECURITY SYSTEM "Review fromMasai D

1 star***100% SCAM***A Vivint *** came by the house saying they could buy me out of my ADT contract if I switched to Vivint. I was paying $65 with ADT and Vivint said I could pay $75 monthly with them plus adding 3 cameras. I did direct deposit thru their site as requested and 3 months later BAM!! I have a credit card with Fortiva (never heard of them prior) and a balance of $2200 for equipment. My new monthly total would be $120 per month for the next 5 years. I called and spoke with Fortiva and Vivint with zero help. I've been hustled. :(
