1 starMy experience with this company has been extremely disappointing. They sent untrained sales representatives to my home who promised a 30-day free cancellation offer to encourage me to sign up only to later find out that this was completely false. When I tried to cancel within ******************************************* that the actual cancellation period was only 3 days, and that I would need to pay $1,800 just to terminate the service.The sales representatives who came to my home in ****** were ****** ********* and ******** ******, both of whom misled me about the terms to earn their commissions. Their manager, ****** seems to condone these deceptive practices, allowing them to continue misleading customers.This company operates with no transparency or business ethics, and I strongly advise others to be cautious before signing any agreement with them. If I could give zero stars, I would one star is far too generous.Review fromLori R

1 starWorst home-related mistake we have ever made!!! **************** is terrible - I dread calling them every time. I'd rather stab forks in my eyes than deal with them. We purchased three systems within about a week's time - HIGHLY regret that! In one of our homes, one camera stopped working within the first month. That was over two years ago - still can't get anyone out to fix it. Techs are unprofessional and unreliable. System rarely works efficiently. We have wonderful internet, but it still takes 5 minutes or more for any video to come through. Once our contract is over, we will cut our losses. 1 starI moved into a home that had a system already installed so I tried it out. I was unimpressed by it. Some of the cameras would not work and they said they would have to charge me a service fee to come repair them. I wasnt even sure I wanted the security system as it felt unnecessary so I did not want to pay extra when their monthly charge was already pretty high. They also suggested I get on a ladder and fix it myself at 35 weeks pregnant. They have deceptive sales tactics. They try to get you to sign longer and longer contracts but they dont tell you if you want to cancel you will have to pay for the whole time. They make special offers up out of nowhere to try to trick you into a longer contract.they do not fully inform you. They are super pushy and try not to let you cancel their services. Then when you do cancel they charge you for one more month even if you have no outstanding balance. And had never heard of this policy or signed anything. Every time I had to talk with them on the phone I wanted to pull my hair out! They can only do something to help you if you sign a longer contract. I wouldnt be surprised if you had a break in and they were like sign up for 6 more months and then we will send help. Truly awfulReview fromKyle L

1 starVery unethical company. They are extremely manipulative in their sales and contracts. Once I finally fulfilled my contract, I called to cancel service. They told me they would refund my months service and not charge me for my last month before my service ends. Then they continued billing me. I called a second time and had to say No, I want to close my account an infuriating number of times over the 30+ minute call before they stopped offering me options and finally emailed me instructions to request account closure by email. I despise Vivint because of my experience and will tell everyone I know to never use them.Review fromKhadija W

1 starA young man knocked on my door offering a service by Vivint. He sold me a lie and said no contracts were involved. Also said when I wanted to terminate my service it would be no problem from June till now the service has been broken and not working properly I called to discontinue the service and now they're saying I can't terminate the service unless I pay ***** dollars they also won't send anyone out to take the equipment out which is faulty I have contacted an attorney to help me with this problem. PLEASE DO NOT GET VIVINT. THEY DO NOT DO GREAT BUSINESS THEY ARE SCAMMERS TO ME AND I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE. I am also contacting the news channel to expose them publicly. 1 starI came across Vivint through my brother who was recruited in college to work as a door to door salesman. Me, being a supportive brother, signed up with Vivint and had the cameras installed. The cameras would work fine, sometimes it would glitch and not save the video when a person came to the door. Main complaint was when i wanted to cancel. The customer service team is a bunch of people who are trained to have you talking for hours about your situation and then endlessly transferring you to different departments only to be told lies. I had set up a verbal contract to which they didn't abide by. They never emailed my contract like i stated them to do on the phone. They even had the audacity to say there were no contracts with the account at one point. So in conclusion they will say anything they can and it won't be legally binding because it is verbally on the phone. I had to cancel my credit card in order for the payments to stop. As a side note they were also charging me a different amount every month for no apparent reason. All in all they are a predatory company that doesn't care for its customers. ********************** cameras are not worth the time and headache.Review fromTraven A

1 starI am writing to formally file a complaint against Vivint, a company whose business practices are deceptive, misleading, and clearly designed to take advantage of consumers. I was promised a gift card as part of a promotion or incentive, yet to this date, I have not received it. When I attempted to follow up, Vivint claimed they could not find any record of the promise and refused to issue the gift card.This is not just a minor oversight; it reflects a pattern of behavior in which Vivint makes promises to entice customers, then fails to honor them once the customer is committed. Combined with their notorious practice of locking individuals into long-term contracts and using aggressive tactics to enforce them, it is clear that Vivints business model relies on exploiting consumers and creating unnecessary financial stress.These actions are unacceptable and potentially unlawful. Consumers should not be misled into signing contracts or making decisions based on promises the company has no intention of keeping. Vivints refusal to honor a simple gift card commitment demonstrates a lack of integrity and respect for its customers.I urge the ******************** to investigate Vivints practices, hold them accountable for misleading promotions and abusive contract policies, and take action to protect consumers from further harm.Review fromAllen H

1 starOne day I finally made time to go through their cancellation transfer portal . I had attempted to do this earlier but I always hung up during the torture sessions. Unfortunately after over an hour of being transferred around an ***** location I couldn't take it an longer and I hung up. Later a company *** called with a faux voice of concern and asked to help. Vivint actions are intentional and should be illegal. Has anyone ever looked into legal action? How wonderful to have a system where you retain customers for life. "You can check out but you can never leave."Needless to say I'm a very unhappy previous customer. Which brings up another point. How can I continue to get charge when the terms of the original contract have been satisfied and I contacted them to stop billing me? I'm fighting with Amex now because the reinstated my dispute of the charges after Vivint contacted them. The fight continues!!Review fromNestor S

2 starsYou get 5 star treatment when signing up for the business.The smart home features are useful and service/support is great 24/7 - but I am on my third call with support trying to cancel my account.Unlike any other support call option, the cancellation option goes to an offshore call ********* first call, after confirming that what I want to do is cancel my account I was put on hold indefinitely.The second time I was hung up on.The third time I was asked to explain myself and then was subjected to a grueling line by line script with ridiculous offers to buy more services as well as discounts that went from $30 to $28 and finally $24 a month. Once I confirmed that I want to cancel through the entire script, you get a verbal agreement about how "cancelling the account means that you want to cancel the account which means your account will be cancelled". Then you get a notice that it takes THIRTY days to close the account and that this is the normal process, you will have to pay your account one more month (against your will) and they may refund it.Honestly if it wasn't for all of this trouble, I would have thought that Vivint was a company that I would recommend in the future. I have recommended it to others before and I now regret doing so, knowing that one day those people that use it will have to go through all these hoops to end a service that they don't want anymore.I am beyond disappointed at these kind of business practices, a good service will sell itself and have no need to keep its claws on you when you don't want it. ***** this company at all costs and find another company.Review fromDennis I

1 starBad Deal! Do not use this service. They lock you into a five year contract then provide horrible service. My system still is not working properly. I would never recommend to company to anyone. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE COMPANY!
