On February 8th momentum solar installed a solar system on my roof within days of me signing up, I was told that this system would be energized in about 30 days. We are now going on ******************************************************************************************************** power company's hands, whom I called and they told me that they never received anything from momentum solar on my behalf, I then called momentum solar with teco representative on the phone and representative from momentum solar had no answers to anything teco representative asked. This company needs to rectify this situation asap as I will remove this system from my roof myself and find a company that wants to do the right thing rather then leave customers in the dark. If momentum solar decides not to move foward with this then I would like for them to remove their panels and put my roof back the way it was before they lied to me about this situation.Business Response

Momentum Solar has been in contact with the customer. As per previous conversations we requested that ****************** send in his utility bills so that we can assess his summer usage to see if we would need to expand the customer's solar system. ****************** refused to send the utility bills to us and advised he turned the solar system off, although on our end we can see the production and it does not look like he turned the system off. If he did turn the system off, without the solar system's ability to produce energy, the customer will start seeing their utility bills increase and will not be able to benefit from the solar system. Our team would be more than happy to assist ****************** if he is willing to cooperate with us to come to a resolution.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because I was promised that my be would be around ****** dollars a month, my bill is over ****** a month, I do not want a bigger system I want this removed as I a victim of fraud!!! I want the system removed and only removed as this is a lease not a loan. I can't afford to pay for an under producing solar system and the power company, so please remove this system.

****************** was advised at the time of sale, in a confirmation call with Momentum, that if he used more electricity than what the system could produce, he would receive a bill for that electricity used from his utility provider. The customers system was designed based on historical usage data available to us. His usage seems to have increased, but he has not provided additional electricity bill information for us to further review the matter. ******************** system is producing slightly above that which was expected, so it is operating as designed and intended. He now only wants the system removed, which is not possible in light of his 25-year agreement.Customer Answer

Complaint: 19870298
I am rejecting this response because:
They told me that 1 would pay 100 they did not do the research to see what real usage was gonna be, therefore since I was scammed this lease is null and void. If they don't remove there system I have someone scheduled for next week to remove it.

Momentum Solar designed the system with the information that was given to us. The solar system is designed off of historical usage. The customer is using more electricity than could've been anticipated at the time of sale. ********************** system is working as expected.Customer Answer

Complaint: 19870298
I am rejecting this response because: They are lying about historical usage, they looked at my first electric bill as soon as I purchased the house and made a system based off of that just to get me stuck, it's ok I've hired an attorney and we are gonna go to arbitration because this company is nothing but a bunch of scammers. They build systems that don't benefit anyone so as to stick them for 25 years. Unfortunately for momentum solar I'm not rolling over, they can come get their system as it is on the side of my house and no longer on *******.

This project is still not complete and you keep closing the complaint as completed. *************** project 22 1423.Again - I have been pushed to another person that says they have to check into something with nothing actually being done. I am rejecting this response because:They keep using the word "completed". And I won't call this job completed before I am actually able to use it.
The "service work" was an inspection. I thought I was done, but,,,,No........
Now another inspection in 12 days. Just for the city to check the electrical panel, which I thought had been done before. But, nonetheless, Momentum is dragging their feet on this project.
The last time I asked why a particular date was necessary for an inspection ,that I had to wait weeks for, I was told the date was the first available for MOMENTUM. Not the city.
So, no, I'm accepting their response. I am not happy with the date of the inspection. Just got another large electrical bill.
I asked for the contact person's name and phone number and I was told, by ******, I believe, "Let me see if I can get that for you." That was 3:30 pm on 5/31. Crickets. As usual.

I signed a contract in December 2022 with Momentum Solar to add solar panels to my house for $36,000.00. The Panels were installed on January 12th, and I was told they had to change the permit as a solar panel had to be moved by 2-4 inches to avoid a pipe that was not marked on the plan. They stated that an inspection would be done as soon as the permit was approved, and the final installation of a new electric meter to allow the solar panels to work would occur. I followed up with them in February and was told I would not make any payments until the job was finished. It is now March 27th, and I have to pay for a product they installed that cannot be used. Customer service keeps stating they will follow up after 3-4 calls, but nothing occurs. I am now wondering if 1) Momentum solar ever had a permit approved to install the product? 2) Do the panels they installed even work? 3) Is this one big fraudulent scheme to get people's money without providing any benefits from a product? I would like to have the working solar panels that I bought, but I am being given the run-around, and they will not let me discuss the issue with the sales rep that sold me the product. WaltonEMC, my power company, stated Momentum Solar had not contacted them since 6/13/2022 and that they will require a $510 fee to be paid by Momentum Solar to inspect and install the new meter once Momentum Solar finalizes the permit. I cannot get anything out of Momentum Solar customer service; only my local power company responds on their end with good service.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: Providing additional updates does not give me a working product. I understand they are on hold and are finally now addressing the issue. However, taking a large loan out and not having a working product for 3 months is not acceptable. I am happy they want to resolve the issue. They are willing to cover some of the first loan expenses, and they have assigned a contact point for my issue. However, I still do not have a working product, only a company confirming there is an issue that still needs resolved.

I met with the salesman **** on Sunday March 19th, 2023. At the time I was told I can cancel my contract if I signed within 7 days. The very next day after signing the contract I reached out to momentum at **** am to cancel the contract. I was assured by the Project Manager that the contract was cancelled and I would receive a confirmation email. I then checked my email at 5 pm and there was no confirmation email. I then called again and spoke to the ** *** who stated the contract was not cancelled and it was noted I was doing research. This was not the case at all. The ** at **** am confirmed he personally cancelled the contract while on the phone with me. This was a clear lie and we can't say he forgot because it was a live confirmation. So *** confirmed he would have it cancelled and I would receive a confirmation email within a half hour. Well at 630 pm I still didn't receive the email. I called back and now I spoke to the senior ** ****** who told me my contract is cancelled, but Momentum can not send me a written confirmation that my contract is cancelled. He told me I have to take his word for it and there is absolutely nothing they could do by putting something in writing to me confirming the contract is cancelled. He told me the conversation is recorded so I have nothing to worry about. When I asked for the conversation file to be sent to me I was also denied. Again I just have to take their word for it. When I asked to speak to his supervisor I was also denied. These are all huge red flags. I finally got his bosses name to try to connect with, but this is unacceptable. All companies send confirmation for cancellations. ****** also Constantly cut me off when speaking and tried to control the conversation like a used car salesman. Very unprofessional. I read dozens of reviews on ****** with similar aggressive situations. By the way, I was told by the salesperson that he received a confirmation email of the contract being Cancelled. No email to me though! RunBusiness Response

When we purchased our solar we did so believing that should we at any time need to replace our roof, Momentum Solar would provide a one-time no-cost removal and replacement of solar panels. At the time we knew we would soon need a new roof, so this was a HUGE selling point to us. During the last hurricane we realized we had a leak and a new roof was necessary. We called months ago to schedule and were informed that without a "coupon" we should have received at purchase, Momentum would not honor the promise. There was no "coupon" given! This constitutes a breach of contract and involves deceptive sales practices with misleading information. We immediately contacted James, one of the co-founders of the company. Unfortunately he was no longer with Momentum, but agreed there was no coupon and the guarantee had been made. He told us to contact the CEO, Arthur. Many phone calls later we received a call from Joe who is in the escalation department. We explained the issue and offered us a discount to remove the solar panels. That is UNACCEPTABLE! Joe said he would call back the next day, but never did. We attempted to reach Joe again today and after being on hold for 8 minutes, were told he would call us back. I do not want to take legal action. We referred others to Momentum who purchased and they also had been promised the no cost removal and replacement if a new roof is installed.... what will they receive as a response??? How many others were guaranteed this and now get nothing??Business Response

We were approached, at home, by Momentum Solar to place panels on our roof. The promise was that we would pay the amount for the panels at a set price per month, and the actual two-way metering from ************* would be greatly reduced to only a connectivity charge per month. This, however, did NOT happen. Panels were installed, took forever to have ************* connect a meter, and after 3 months of billing, we are now reduced to only receiving about a $5 per month reduction on our power bill. We are stuck with 20 solar panels on our roof, paying approximately $32k for these things, and still paying essential the same full monthly charge with our electric company. No response from Momentum Solar, no help from anyone ... we want these panels removed, and we want this cost removed. We need an advocate. All we are asking is to be made whole. We acted in good faith.Business Response

Momentum Solar has been in contact with the homeowner. We have discussed how net metering operates with ************. We also explained to ************ that we do not guarantee or control how the utility company does their net metering. We also informed ************ that his panels were operating well and that he would begin producing more power as the peak months approached. ************ stated he wants the panels removed or for us to cover the full loan. We have explained to ************ that is not possible. Momentum Solar is willing to cover 4 months of his solar bill to get him into the peak production months. ************ declined this offer and stated that he will get a lawyer.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:I do not care if they leave the panels and I understand exactly how net metering works. We were to be paid 1KWH to 1KWH. Instead they are paying .03 per KWH. ************* Cooperative sent Momentum Solar a notification one month before the salesman arrived at my home. They flat out lied during the presentation. Furthermore, they are not bargaining in good faith! They offered to pay for 3 months of the payments, and that is all. The contract is for 25 years or 300 months. I would NEVER have agreed to put the panels on my home if I had realized that ************* was not going to pay pay for the KWHs I generate. The ***************** ************* Cooperative informed us that they we no longer participating in this program. That is when we found our that notifications were sent out one month before they came here. I know they also fooled several people in my neighborhood after us, according to our salesman. He too was unaware, but Momentum knew. It was simply Momentum sending out their salesmen with full knowledge that these panels will only generate a fraction of our overall electric bill. The person I am dealing with now is their assigned guy to get the people to lose what few rights they had on the contract. The contract does not provide us but a few remedies for recompense. At the same time, it is chalked full of protections for Momentum Solar. In the end they cheated us and it was completely expected by Momentum. I am 66 almost 67, and I should not pay 25 years because they deceived us.

Momentum has spoken to ************, and we have gone over *************s net metering process. It is not a 1 to 1 ratio; it is a 50 to 1 ratio. Although ************ is not satisfied with how the net metering process works, Momentum does not have any control over how ************* processes excess power going back to the grid from the solar panels. I am rejecting this response because:
After giving it the entire Summer my electric bills are the same as before. We are not receiving benefit from the solar panels. The only way for this to work is for us to purchase batteries and the panels must give us the KWhs if we use them during the day. Extra power generated during the day should power the batteries. The batteries would be used during the night or if we lose power. My understanding is the cells do not even work when the electric company is down.

I am rejecting this response because: As mentioned, the panels are not working and they have not been working for over two months. The first point of business is to make them operational. We have also paid 2 months to the finance company for something that is broken. Hopefully the solar panels will not continue to fail. These were the months when we needed them to work to ascertain if we were getting anything from having them installed. I would hope this is a priority call since the solar cells have failed in less than one year after being installed.

FANCY OFFERS TO CHEAT DURING SiNGUP On June 2022 I had Momentum Solar install my Solar panels, during which they had agreed and gave me pamphlet with fancy Sign on bonus($1000) and 4 free months etc, now after repeated follow **** someone called me that none of them will be honored. They took 9 months to give me this answer and all the time when I called REPs told me it is approved and waiting for cheque to be sent out.Had quotes from multiple Solar providers but choose Momentum as their Sales representative were good in clarifying about panels etc but all of them were laid off and as soon as panel was installed new reps were unreachable, not responsive and some just took complaints wen asked for a copy they say their emails are restricted to send outside.Business Response

I am currently trying to sell my house. I had Momentum come out a little over a year ago to give us an estimate. The sales rep **************** told us that if we decided to move we can either transfer the panels to the new owner or have them removed and taken with us, Come to find out we can't have them removed. I don't appreciate your company representatives lying to me. That wasn't even the first lie, he promised that we would get 1k for a referral, and we only got $750. Had to call corporate and complain because we didn't get what we were promised. I will never recommend Momentum Solar to anyone because of the lies I was told.Business Response

Momentum Solar has been attempting to contact ****************** but we have not been successful. We apologize for any miscommunication that *** have occurred. The solar panels are permit specific to the current property so we do not offer to move the panels to a new location. In the event the home needs to be sold they can be transferred to the new homeowner. However, the transfer process would need to be discussed with the financier IGS. Also, from our records the customer did receive the referral fee of $750 originally but was then given the additional $250 for a total of $1,000.Customer Answer

I signed an agreement with Momentum in May 0f 2022, it took until about September or October for them to fully install, they failed the first inspection but did eventually get it up and running enough to tell the bank that I needed to start paying. However, the batteries never worked and although they have known about them being faulty, and allegedly under warranty, I still have not had them fixed or even gotten a response from my rep about when they would be fixed. Every time I call, the person tells me they will look into it and call me back next day, no one ever calls me. Also, when I signed the agreement, I was told I would received a $4,000 credit once the install is complete, that has also never been paid to me and I can not get an answer as to when that will happen. I believe I am owed the $4,000 along with an additional compensation for the batteries not working for 6 months now.Business Response

I have reported momentum solar before. I have had it with them. I am in problem with my *** because the lied to me and said the got permission to install from the *** when this was false. Due to their deception and unwillingness to comply with the demands of the *** to remove panels. I have been fined and am in hot water. If that was not enough, even after notifying them of the problem, they sent documentation saying the work was completed, another lie. Now the loan is been called in. I am now paying fines, electricity bills and solar loan. They wont ************* or respond to my voicemail. I am so frustrated. I am out of pocket so much money which I dont have. And possibly will be out of pocket more, as I am having to go pay a lawyer to get the situation resolved. As they are completely ignoring me.Business Response
