I have emailed this company twice & told 5 separate representatives to stop calling me. I get numerous calls daily all throughout the day and evening. This is borderline harassment.Business Response

On May 17 and 18, I was getting an error message stating the Gateway was not communicating with the Enphase Cloud. On May 19, I read all the online help and rebooted the Gateway. The Gateway was showing 4 red lights and not three green lights. The reboot solved the problem for a few hours. I called Enphase and they told me to contact the installer. I tried calling Momentum Solar and an automated response told me to send an email about the problem. I sent 2 emails on the 19th and one more on Sunday the 21st. NO RESPONSE. I was rebooting the Gateway 3 - 4 times a day to try and keep it working. I again sent another email this morning (Tuesday the 24th). NO RESPONSE YET. I tried endlessly to call Momentum Solar. REGARDLESS of which automated option I took, the ONLY response was to email them the problem. This is so frustrating to have an issue and not to speak with anyone or even to be recognized. I did manage to open a ticket with Enphase and they said they would review the problem. BUT, my experience with Momentum Solar (the installer of the panels) has been unacceptable. Their phone support is designed to never speak with the customer. Either the option they tell you to select is unavailable or you get a recorded message to send an email. And then they ignore your emails. Very, very frustrating.Business Response

Momentum Solar has been in communication with the homeowner. It was discovered that the homeowners emails were being filtered into the Junk folder instead of the Inbox, resulting in missed correspondence. A ticket has been submitted to the IT department to address and resolve this issue.
Regarding the system performance, the Envoy is currently connected to the cellular network but consistently stops reporting production at a certain point each day. An attempt was made to assist the homeowner in connecting the Envoy to Wi-Fi; however, the attempt was unsuccessful.
A site visit is scheduled for July 11th to further investigate and resolve the issue. Momentum Solar remains committed to working closely with the homeowner until the matter is fully resolved.Initial Complaint

Every day Momentum Solar calls me at least 3-times. They change their phone number to disguise who they are. I have absolutely no interest in any of their services or products and I block them every tme they call. Aparently they are so stupid that they dont realize I am not interested. When I block them every time they call, it should be obvious that im not interested. If they dont stop calling me I will sue them for harrassment. I cant install solar anyway because I live in a condo.Business Response

The first representative that came to my house offered me payment for time. That if I sat through a presentation I would receive $200 I agreed to this I sat through the presentation 3 days laterabout an hour or so but I have not yet received my $200 I was supposed to have received it that very following week it has now been 3 weeks I can't get a hold of her I can't get a hold of anyone regarding this issue everybody I do talk to just tries to sell me solar and I just want my agreed to compensation the panels are near double price I can get elsewhere and there's no obvious program anywhere that they offer they sell it to you or they miss it too that's not what our government is offering as incentives other than the tax breaks my friends down the street paid nearly half of that amount on a purchase I'm getting nearly the same kilowatt hours I think a little more but they offered me, but if they're selling these systems for that much they can afford to pay my $200 I would appreciate it if their company would compensate me the $200 promised by their representative for my timeBusiness Response

I am contacting the BBB only after exhausting every direct communication channel with the ********** experience with Momentum Solar has been persistently frustrating. Several years ago, my system stopped working. I contacted Momentum, and they claimed to have repaired it as a courtesy, stating the issuecaused by critter damagewas not covered under warranty. However, I later discovered that the system was not fully repaired. Instead, temporary patchwork was done to get it running again. I have a written statement from their technician from a later visit confirming this.More recently, after a roof replacement, Momentum was responsible for removing and reinstalling the panels per our contract. After reinstallation, solar production dropped significantly due to some panels not functioning. Multiple technician visits and attempted repairs failed to resolve the problem. In addition, their team damaged my brand-new roof during reinstallation. Initially, Momentum refused to take responsibility, and I had to fight for them to cover the repair costs.They now claim recent performance issues are again due to critter damage. This explanation is implausible, as a critter guard was installed the day after reinstallation, preventing any animals from accessing the system. The far more likely explanation is that the original wiring damage was never properly fixed and the panels were simply reinstalled over compromised wiring.Momentum has consistently dismissed my concerns unless I escalate. In a previous case, only after I filed in small claims court did they agree to pay over $2,000 in damagesmore than double the repair cost.Based on historical data, I am currently requesting $500 to cover four months of lost production and ongoing inconvenience (requested $300 to settle but they didn't agree). Momentum Solar has been in communication with the homeowner regarding their request for additional compensation. Upon thorough review, it was determined that the damage to the solar system was caused by critter activity which is an external factor classified as an act of God, which is not covered under our standard warranty.
While we understand and empathize with the homeowners frustration, this type of damage is beyond our control and falls outside the scope of warranty coverage. As a courtesy, Momentum Solar proceeded with all necessary repairs at no cost to the homeowner.
We also advised the homeowner that the matter was escalated to the highest level within our organization. After careful consideration, we believe that the comprehensive, no-cost repairs provided represent a fair and appropriate resolution. Mr. ***** previously instituted legal action related to this complaint. Momentum compensated Mr. ***** for this and other issues, including just a few months ago. Mr. ***** has been compensated for the issues he has raised, which have been addressed and corrected.
At this time, the solar system should be operating at its intended capacity. If the homeowner experiences any further issues, we encourage them to contact our customer service team for further support.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:I am writing to formally and emphatically respond against Momentum Solar for deceptive, negligent, and shamefully unprofessional conduct, which has not only cost me substantial time and money but also caused me emotional distress and ongoing frustration. Momentum Solars repeated lies, misrepresentations, and refusal to accept responsibility for their own faulty practices are appalling. I am shocked and disappointed that a company in the clean energy sectorone that should champion transparency and customer trustoperates in such bad faith.
Here is a summary of the deeply troubling events:
Initial Panel Error and Repair Deception:
Momentum Solar was initially called due to error signals from my panels. While I appreciated the prompt response, I was only told months later, and only after filing a complaint with BBB, that the issue was caused by "critter damage." This key detail was never disclosed to me at the time of repair.
Proactive Roof Replacement and Panel Removal:
In an attempt to avoid further issues, I replaced my roof andper contractMomentum Solar removed and reinstalled all panels and wiring. The very next day, I had critter guards professionally installed to prevent any future damage.
Immediate Post-Installation Failure:
Incredibly, within one day of reinstallation and guard placement, my panels again stopped functioning. Numerous technician visits followed, costing me time, lost productivity, and further inconvenience. I was told, once again, the issue was critter damage, a claim that is absurd given the timeline and protective measures in place. The implication is clear: Momentum Solar likely never repaired the original damage and merely reinstalled defective wiring.
Roof Damage and Warranty Risk:
In the process, they damaged my newly installed roof and initially refused to pay for repairs. They offered to repair it themselves, despite having no qualifications acceptable to my certified roof installer. I have documentation from the roofer stating that any unauthorized repair would void the 50-year warranty. After exhaustive back and forthand only after filing yet another complaintMomentum Solar eventually paid for the repair. Why only after a formal complaint?
Refusal to Compensate for Production Loss:
I requested compensation for the clear and measurable production loss incurred during the extended periods my panels were non-functionaldue solely to their negligence. I conservatively estimate this loss to be $400$450 based on past production records. I even offered to settle for $300, in good faith. Momentum Solar flatly refused. This kind of behavior only confirms a pattern of deceit and a disregard for customers.
Momentum Solar's business practices are not just negligentthey are deceptive. They refuse to communicate honestly until a legal complaint forces their hand. It is shameful that I must go to the lengths of filing with the BBB and seeking legal recourse simply to get them to act with basic integrity. If their position is so defensible, why do they only comply after official complaints are filed?
I demand that Momentum Solar immediately:
Compensate me a minimum of $500 for production loss as a result of their failure to properly service my system;
Acknowledge, in writing, the poor handling of repairs and communication;
Cease the continued denial of facts that are well documented and supported by evidence.
I respectfully urge the BBB to investigate this matter seriously. Momentum Solar must be held accountable not just for my case, but for any others they may be misleading with similar tactics.

Your recent response claiming that this issue has already been resolved is completely false and unacceptable. This is the first time such a claim has been made, and its clear that Momentum Solar is simply running out of answers and resorting to dishonest tactics.
The delay in repairing my solar panel has directly resulted in significant production loss. Your failure to address the matter in a timely and ethical manner constitutes not only poor customer service but a clear violation of your contractual responsibility.
I am formally demanding compensation for the production loss. I am willingdespite the ongoing inconvenienceto settle this matter for $300. This is a final opportunity to resolve this dispute amicably.
If I do not receive payment within 14 business days, I will pursue legal action without further notice. I have documented evidence of the timeline and correspondence and am prepared to present it in court.

Momentum Solar has sent out field sales **** to our area without a permit, without authorization and without identification. They are canvassing our neighborhoods with no ID, no ipads, no clipboards or information. I am not even sure these **** work for Momentum, as there was no proof, only a small logo on their shirt I obtained from my security video.Business Response

There is water leaking in my attic from the system that was installed. Contacted service and was told somebody would get back to me in 3 business days. Momentum solar promised me 40 solar panels. They came and only put 16 on my roof gelling me this will work just as well. They never gave me an option of saying yes or no. They lied and said my electric company told them 40 was too much. My signature was forged to install the panels. They will NOT work with me to help me. All i want is the remaining panels installed.
