Dear BBB,I contracted with Momentum Solar to install solar panels on my home, at no cost to me and to purchase the energy produced by the panels at a reduced and capped rate. The panels were installed on December 11 2022. Two inspections were pending by the ****************** before the panels could be activated. I received word that the inspections had been completed on April 10,2023. I was emailing with one of the folks at Momentum, who had no answers for me and who was trying to help, but they have not responded to my last 2 emails. I am turning to you to try to get the ball rolling. I have solar panels on my roof that are not doing anything. We had Momentum Solar installed on our home in November 2022. In March 2023, we had a standby generator installed. During this installation ********************* told us they would have to disconnect some of the wires to the solar so they would not damage the solar when they tested and ran the generator. I was also told they could not reconnect the wires by company policy and to contact Momentum. I contacted Momentum Solar that day and requested a service appointment to reinstall the wires. I was told they forwarded a message to the service manager, ***********************, to reach out to me. I never heard from **************** or Momentum Solar. I have called no less than 8 times, each time requested assistance from Momentum. On each occasion I was told that a message had been sent to ****************. On each occasion a response was never received from Momentum. They refuse to contact me and assist in getting my solar system back functioning. I just received my electric bill and it was $228.00. This should have never occurred if Momentum Solar would be responsive to service request. We currently have a $28,000 solar system that does not work yet they still expect us to pay for it. All help will be appreciated as I can get no one at Momentum Solar to help us.Business Response

I will explain in greater detail via a phone call. Below is a brief summary of my problem.Mid year 2022, began the process to acquire solar panels on my home, by a Momentum Solar sales rep named *********************. My solar panels were installed on my roof, during this time momentum sent a letter to Dividend (loan company) to inform them that they have successfully installed the solar panel system.However, none of the electrical work has been done at this point, so how they were able to ask Dividend for payment of completion of installation is unknown to me. According the *** from Dividend, my contract states 60 days after receiving a letter of completion dividend can then begin to deduct from my checking account to start paying for the solar panel loan.I believe the end of March was the last time a Momentum Solar Tech was at my home to check on my system and adjust some of the solar panels that were poorly installed.I had requested an email of confirmation of installation and activation of my solar panel system to have for my records, as of today I have yet to receive any notice of activation.However, there are still several issues/problems caused by their installation. Damaged New Gutters Damaged Concrete Sidewalk, due to trenching Damaged Existing PVC for Cable Lines Areas of trenching, after several months still haven't grown vegetation/grass In my personal and professional opinion, Momentum Solar still haven't successfully completed my installation, and wont be successfully completed until all issues/ problems have been resolved, then can send a letter to Dividend stating they have successfully completed their install, which will then begin payments.If I were to cut your yard, and I damaged a sprinkler head, i wouldn't just leave once I'm done cutting your yard, I'm now responsible for fixing your sprinkler head being that I'm the one who damaged it. If I'm unable to fix it then I would need to hire someone to fix it.Once fixed, then I'd be done.Business Response

More lies from Momentum Solar. The salesman ******************* promised me over and over that my system would produce more than I use. IT DOESNT! I've been on the phone with *********** several times and all the numbers that they use to bill me are different than the numbers that ******************* used to trick me. ******************* also lied about the monthly "minimum charge" that I would get from ***********. It's more than twice the amount that he quoted me. This entire program is costing me more than I was "promised". Every single thing has been a lie! Momentum Solar needs to give me more panels to produce enough energy! And I also need a lawyer because Momentum Solar is fraud!Business Response

2 years ago we bought solar panels from momentum solar. We were told for the life of the loan they would be covered under warranty for damage. They also would take off the panels for roof work and put them back on. The problem is I cant get anyone there to contact me in any way. Its been two weeks and I cant get ******* fixed because we cant get in touch with these people.Business Response

I had solar panels installed on my home a few months ago. I was told by the sales person that if I referred a coustomer I would get a 650 dollar referral fee. I referred my daughter and her fiancs home to sales person. I have yet to see any referral fee and when I contacted them about it I get the run around. I have an email from them stated Im owed the referral fee but have yet to see anything from them.Business Response

When meeting with the sales rep for Momentum (Oct 2022) they said if you sign with ** tonight, upon install we can give you a $1500 rebate deposited into your checking account. The install came and went with no deposit. I began my attempts to find out when to expect to see the deposit on April 4th. I've called several times as well to speak to customer service. The customer service reps aren't able to provide that information but would pass along the information and someone would be in touch. I was told on four separate occasions it would be 24 - 48 hours when someone would be in touch. I still have not had anyone reach out to me. I feel a month has been more than an appropriate timeframe for them to try and resolve the issue if they cared to.Business Response

Complaint Details During the sales pitch and contract signing, I was assured that an ** Plug and a Generator Interlock Switch would be installed. Although this was not documented in writing, I have evidence in the form of screenshots from a WhatsApp conversation with the Sales Manager, ***************************, from Momentum. However, now that the installation has taken place, I have been informed that management has decided not to follow through on these promises. If I cannot trust the word of a Sales Manager from Momentum, then who can I trust? It is important to uphold promises made, as a failure to do so damages the credibility of the business. I am not concerned about the financial cost, but rather the issue is about trust. I respectfully request that Momentum Solar fulfill all of the promises that were made, including the installation of the ** Plug and Generator Interlock Switch. Thank you.Business Response

I recieved a cold call from "***** at Momentum Solar," using a spoofed local number asking me if I was interested in Solar on a home that's covered in trees and obviously not a candidate for solar panels. My complaint is that I received the call even though I'm on the national Do Not Call list and I want my number removed from this company's call list in compliance with federal law.Business Response

I have been waiting for this company to complete my solar install project for nearly a year now. All they need to do is place the correct placards for the utility company to complete their part. I have been in close contact with both the entire time.
