I purchased a solar system for my home through Momentum Solar in early 2023. It was installed, but failed a city inspection because the installers used wiring that was not consistent with the city code. It took several weeks for a reinspection. The momentum representative showed up having not prepared to make the correction required by the city and even unaware why the system failed the first inspection. I explained why it had failed and fortunately the repairs were made in trime for the system to pass the reinspection. Once the system was activated one panel was substantially under producing. After several phone calls Momentum acknowledged the problem. They assigned it to an engineer. After several weeks I contacted them about the matter. Except for 1 or 2 texts they have never contacted me about anything about the system. I always have to initiate the contact or I fear nothing would occur. Ultimately, I received a text they would would make the repair on Monday, July 10. No one appeared. I contacted Momemtum on the 11th about their failure to appear. There was no explanation but the customer service representative said the repairmen would arrive on Wednesday, Jul 12. No one showed. When I contacted them there was no explanation, but they said someone would appear on July 13 between 9 and 10 am. No one appeared. When I contacted them there was no explanation or indication when or if any repairman would ever appear. The problem remains unaddressed. This latest incident is not isolated. Earlier contacts with the company have all been treated similarly. The customer service people are courteous. They always say they will contact the contractor. I wait on hold for quite a while before they tell me there is no response. When I ask to speak to a supervisor they says they will contact one. I then wait on hold and then they announce none is available but one will get back with me. No one ever does. I am 72 years old and never experienced a company this inefficient and who totally ignores and is unreponsive to their customers. Unless their service improves the public should really not be exposed to their inefficiency and disregard of their customers. If you cannot resolve this my next step is to contact the appropriate state and federal regulatory authorities.Business Response

I have been waiting for completion of my Solar Panel project with Momentum Solar for now over three months. They have no-showed on appointments with me twice and never called me to cancel. I had to contact them to find out what was going on. They have indicated to me that National Grid needs to come out and change my meter and that I should call them. No, I shouldn't!! This is their project and when I had my initial meeting with them, I was informed that they did everything "soup to nuts" like pulling permits and coordinating with National Grid. I have called them at least 10 times of various issues related to failed appointments, lack of communication on my project and also being disconnected twice by their incompetent Customer *************** never to be called back. It was my understanding that Momentum Solar was a "preferred" Solar ************** that the ********************** is working with. If this is the case, I think that State needs to ******* their partnership with this Company. I have had nothing but problems since beginning of my interaction with them.Business Response

Deceptive business practices, they try to bully you into a contract. Don't explain that your credit will be run, and rush through explaining. Won't give you anything about the contract or proposal on official documentation. Obviously to trap you in one that is for their benefit.Business Response

We had signed up for Momentum almost two years ago. We have been back and forth, completely ignored, and still do not have solar. We have been paying both a solar bill and an electric bill for 8 months. We still do not have any solar. I placed a review in which they said they would take care of it (as this has been said for months, and going on two years)! Still nothing from that company! We cant cancel because they scam you into a contract that requires you to pay up to 20% or so of the total system cost to cancel after 14 days of signing. So now I pay a $600 a month electric bill, and a $320 a month solar bill for services we do not have.Business Response

On 4/1/23 my husband and I signed a contract with Momentum Solar. One of the reasons we chose them over other companies we met with was the fact they do all their installation "in house". We really felt this was something that made them a better choice. **Today is 7/6/23 and we yet to have solar panels installed on our home; our **** ******** stated on 4/1/23 that we were choosing to purchase at an excellent time because we would begin to bank during optimal months of longer daylight. We feel extremely frustrated that three months later we don't even have panels on our home, much less in a position to utilize the longest days of the year as told we would be able to.**Communication with Momentum has been absolutely terrible. From the beginning, we had difficulty providing the necessary documentation required. My husband gave everything to our **** ******** and we were still bombarded by emails and texts from Momentum stating that we didn't fulfill the required documentation, when we did from the get go. **One morning in May, with only a 60 minute warning given, Momentum shows up to begin the installation process. I was already at work for the day, and my husband was getting ready to leave the house for work. They showed up, again without appropriate warning, stating that they needed access to the attic. My husband was very frustrated as he could not stay home on this day to accommodate this, and told them we had no idea they were coming. So they installed the brackets on the roof only on this day.**Six weeks passes, and we hear nothing from Momentum. My husband attempts to reach out via text to the installation supervisor and heard nothing back at all. This is completely unacceptable! So finally my husband texts our **** ******** who tells us she doesn't work for the company any longer. Zero communication provided to us about the change. She said we were the 5th family to reach out to her about the same installation issues. Although she didn't work for Momentum, she took the time to connect us with installation, who returned at the end of June to complete the electrical work in the attic that was pending from May. **7/1/23 we finally get in contact with our new sales ********* was reportedly on vacation, and got in contact with my husband when she returned. She promised to follow up with him regarding the status of our pending installation on Monday, July 3rd. Once again, that did not happen as promised. So my husband had to contact her on Wednesday, July 5th to follow up with her. **We have lost all respect and faith in Momementum Solar at this point. We are spending a significant about of money and are so completely dissatisfied with every part of our experience with the company, to date. We have even recently met new neighbors who identified our home as "the home that started a solar project but never finished". Literally, this is unacceptable! In the meantime, our FPL bill is going up exponentially, and we are responsible to pay them this money because of Momentum's inability to communicate effectively and complete a job in a timely manner. Now we cannot get a response back on when the next inspection will take place. Our rep has been emailed by my husband with no response over the last two business days. This continues to be unacceptable.
Your response was completely unprofessional when spending the amount the money we are, and the poor processes and miscommunications on your part continue.

I am rejecting this response because:
I continue to struggle that we are spending the amount of money that we are, and continue to experience such poor customer service (our rep is not doing her job) and poor communication for months during our installation process, and this is the continued responses we get.Yes, we finally have panels up as of 7/19 after signing a contract on 4/1/23.
Ill be happy to share my experiences with others, since Momentum doesnt seem to think any of our installation fiascos are a problem they want to try and make right for us, beyond just FINALLY getting our panels up months after endlessly waiting and paying crazy high electricity bills in the meantime. As the customer, I know Momentum could do much, much better.

Complaint Details During the sales pitch and contract signing, I was assured that an ** Plug and a Generator Interlock Switch would be installed. Although this was not documented in writing, I have evidence in the form of screenshots from a WhatsApp conversation with the Sales Manager, ***************************, from Momentum. However, now that the installation has taken place, I have been informed that management has decided not to follow through on these promises. If I cannot trust the word of a Sales Manager from Momentum, then who can I trust? It is important to uphold promises made, as a failure to do so damages the credibility of the business. I am not concerned about the financial cost, but rather the issue is about trust. I respectfully request that Momentum Solar fulfill all of the promises that were made, including the installation of the ** Plug and Generator Interlock Switch. Thank you.Business Response

We entered into a November 2022 agreement with Momentum Solar to have solar panels installed onto our home and for Momentum Solar to handle all permitting issues. After three months of miscommunication on their part, Momentum Solar improperly installed the solar panels without undertaking the proper rough inspection of the brackets alone and advised that they would schedule the necessary electrical, construction and fire inspections with our municipality. I then learned that they were not supposed to install the panels without the rough inspection, resulting in the construction inspectors requiring a rough inspection of the brackets. After the panels were removed, the bracket inspection failed. Since then, we have had no less than four installation corrections/inspections at our house, which required access to our home interior, without any warning by the company. In other words, Momentum would simply show up unannounced and expect to gain access to our house. Additionally, there remains a ripped open dry wall in the garage, where they were supposed to install an access panel for the electrical work. Most recently, the project failed the electrical inspection because Momentum incorrectly installed the ground wire. An electrical inspector and Momentum tech was supposed to be at our house between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. today (Saturday). The Momentum truck arrived at 8 a.m., it then left at about 10:30 a.m. without notice or explanation. I tried contacting Momentum repeatedly and was offered no explanation for what occurred, leaving us to continue waiting at our home in case the inspector arrived. At this time, we are unaware of whether we failed inspection again, whether the inspector cancelled or whether there were any issues. There is limited to no communication from the company throughout this entire process. They claim to be "opening a ticket", which never resolves the problem. Approximately 7 months after signing a contract for the solar panels, the panels still have not passed final inspection and remain inactive.Business Response

After sitting with the sales rep for nearly 5 hours I received the contract and it not only wasn't close to the savings the rep was promising me it wasn't even close to their closest competitor.
When they did a sight engineering visit the engineer asked me 3 times if there was another access point to my attic other than the one I was having him use. When I called in to cancel the contract they tried to justify saying they usually only deal with new home owners who have no idea about there being other access points. Then the engineer told me he was finished but knocked on my door a few minutes later because he forgot his pencil in my basement. After he finished up inside and out he sat in my driveway another 20 minutes which made me feel very uneasy.
When I called in to cancel my contract with them no matter how many times I told him just skip to the cancellation part the rep kept trying to justify all the issues I had and kept telling me the competitors were not going to be able to get the town I live in to approve the panels and that panels were going to be put up that would not produce. He also told me that the engineering visit might have been able to get me more panels and he was going to look and see. I am no fool if he does come back with more panels my monthly payment goes up.Business Response
