n May of 2023, an unsolicited rep of Momentum solar arrived at my door. He was selling momentum solar. Later that month A rep of Momentum solar came to my house and lied and deceived me about getting solar panels. My main concern was to have power when the grid went down. I asked repeatedly if I will still have power if the grid goes down. He explained yes. That each individual panel had its own battery back up. That was enough to get me to go forward to the install which was full of problems. Finally I get my solar turned on in October. On October 23 I experienced 3 power outages in one day. When I contacted Momentum solar they said that I do not have battery backup and that my system was relying on the Grid. They told me that battery backup was and additional 10 to 15 thousand dollar investment. I am a 100 percent disabled vet and absolutely cannot afford that. I have been referring people to momentum with the understanding that power will stay on.Business Response

I am a momentum solar customer who submitted a referral through their momentum solar app last year. I referred my parents ***** * ******* ******. The app said I would get a $750 referral fee if they became customers. My parents are in fact now customers. I had to call for my referral fee. Momentum took the info, verified with my parents and only sent me $500 saying they don’t use the app for referrals. I don’t understand because that’s how I referred my parents. I believe it’s false advertising when you say you’ll give a certain amount and fail to send that amount that was promised. It’s misleading. I called customer service twice and asked to speak with a manager and was told no one was available and that they would escalate to management. I was also told it’s at management’s discretion on whether they’ll honor the $750. I believe it’s bad business, very misleading and false advertisement. They’ve since updated the app to show $650 referral fee but they didn’t even send that and the customer service lady wanted to argue with me saying that I “couldn’t have referred them on the app because they just don’t use it” If you don’t use it then delete the referral part on your app and don’t mislead people.Business Response

Do not use Momentum solar, install and customer service was great in the beginning. But 5 years later, i have a panel that has gone bad and Momentum tells me my account was sold out to ************ now and Momentum is no longer responsible for my account, ************ is no help at all, does not return calls, emails, nothing so after 5 years, your totally on your own, should of done more research and went with a local company, what a Scam Update 5/5/23 I referred m family member for solar, they had solar installed, they said i would receive credit for a referral, now they are playing dumb after they supposedly took care of it last month, What a Scam this company is, Beware, Do not use them. My next question is who witih the Momentum company has embezzled my credit money due to me?Business Response

They came to my house to sell their product. We were told that we had to wait for approval and we will hear back from them to confirm moving forward. We were denied by the bank for this project and so I called them to cancel. They are claiming to still charge me for the project even if i cancel. This is a violation and a scam. I strongly recommend that remove my information from their system. It cost nothing to involve a lawyer.Business Response

I signed a contract with Momentum Solar, ******************* was my salesperson. I was not going to sign with them, then they offered me $1800 to sign. I agreed to sign after **** put his manager on speakerphone (they told me that the call was recorded) and offered me this signing bonus. My agreement to do business with Momentum Solar was contingent on this agreement. On the documents section of their website the bonus document I electronically signed was not accessible. When I called Momentum Solar for the bonus they gave me the run around for 3 months, they told me first that they were sending it and I would receive it in 3 weeks. After a month I called Momentum Solar and asked of the status of the bonus, they told me that I was only eligible for $800. I was actually left a message today by Momentum Solar telling me that management has refused the $800. I highly recommend that everyone do their due diligence before doing business with Momentum Solar. Your salesperson will smile while lying to your face. My experience has been unpleasant from the start and am now looking to file a breach of contract suit. This involves working with state agencies and attorneys. Save yourself the headache and avoid doing business with momentum solar. You are better off staying with Eversource.Business Response

When we requested that he send us the documentation so that we could honor the concession, he refused to send anything, but he advised that the amount was actually $1500 and not $1800. We offered to work with **************** on this matter, but he is now refusing to cooperate. I had a roof and solar panel installed in July of 2023 by momentum solar. September 28 **** ******* stated leaking very badly to the point where I have to set pots in my living room to catch the water coming from the ceiling. I have called momentum several times to come and fix the leak. They have not responded to me. It rained again for several days and my living room furniture are damaged including my floor. Not only did they refuse to come and fix my roof they refuse to return any communication with me. I need your help to rectify his problem. After reviewing multiple home solar installation companies, i selected Momentum Solar because they persuaded me they have the highest customer ratings of all their competitors. This was back in January. I was told the process would likely be completed in 3-4 months time. Since that time, nearly every person I interacted with either quit or was fired. They eventually installed the panels on my garage, but neglected to get approval from my town's building inspector. So the panels had to be removed. They were reinstalled near the end of September, but still aren't operational. At one point they left a skid of their materials in the middle of my driveway for over a month. It took 7 phone calls to get them to retrieve...Every single person in management hides from customers and problems. It's actually impossible to reach them because their contact info is not on website, and junior people aren't allowed to transfer calls to superiors. Now I am getting $$ billed by their finance company even though the panels aren't yet working. This might be the least professional firm I have ever encountered, and may well end ** in court with them...Business Response

I did PPA for solar with Momentum and was told that my bill would be $185 a month and increase $5 per month each year. I was told that my bill to NVEnergy would only be a connect fee of $15 per month. Ive been getting charged $245 each month by Momentum and still getting $300+ monthly electric bills. When I call Momentum to explain, nobody knows anything. I shouldnt be paying almost $600 a month.Business Response

Momentum has attempted to reach the customer to address his concerns,but we have been unable to make contact. Mr. ******** solar bills will vary monthly due to him having a PPA (Power Purchase Agreement), which means that the customer pays monthly for the production of the solar system. With this type of agreement, the solar bills tend to increase during the summer months and decrease as we transition into fall/winter. If ****************** is not seeing savings with his NVEnergy bills, he can send us the last three months of his utility bills to ********************************** for a billing analysis so that our team can look into the production of his solar system.Customer Answer
