On 3/14 we had our ceiling cave in from a whole caused by squirrels under the solar panels installed by said company. Called on the 15th and explained to them what happened and that I need someone to come and remove solar panels so I could fix the roof and my ceiling. I have had to call at least a dozen times to get something going and nothing happens. They keep stating we will call you back in 24 to 48 hours and a week passes by and the dont call. I have to call everytime. Finally on 4/02 they call me to just take my money to be able to remove the solar panel and then they say we will call you in ***** hours to schedule your appointment. Three business days pass and they dont call. I called yet again on 04/05 to get something going and no one answers. Finally get a hold of someone at almost close of business and they say everyone is gone and nothing can be done till next week. Still have the hole in my roof and the whole in my ceiling.

Transaction occurred in mid-March of 2024. Solar panel installation was performed in late-March 2024.

Prior to installation, I requested to see the county building permit and the HOA approval for the installation. Momentum assured me they would handle "EVERYTHING" and a manager sent me an email stating they would cover any costs or penalties from their installation from the county or HOA.

Immediately after the installation, the 4 month old refrigerator in the kitchen trips the breaker daily and they sent out an "electrician" to fix it. They only swapped the circuit breaker with another in my box and told me they replaced the breaker. The refrigerator still trips the breaker and I have a service call into the manufacturer.

Just over a week after install, the HOA is coming after me for an unapproved installation, charging me $100 and $1500 deposit and may assess additional fees if the installation is not acceptable to the HOA.

Momentum is not silent and no one wants to talk to me anymore. They gave their $25,000 installation and they are gone.

Momentum has been in contact with
the customer. On Monday April 8, 2024, our service manager went to the property
to assess the tripping breakers. After review, it was determined that the
tripping breakers were not solar related. Mr. ****** had an electrician come to
the property on Friday April 12, 2024 and the electrician replaced the breakers
as the home is still under warranty. The customer did advise that they
experienced a tornado on Thursday April 11, 2024. Our service manager will be
out to assess the solar panels on Wednesday April 17, 2024. Mr. ****** was also
advised that the permission to operate was submitted to the utility company on
Friday April 12, 2024, and once we receive the necessary approval, we will be
able to energize the solar system.

I have been receiving a continuous stream of calls from Momentum Solar. Sometimes a maximum of 10 per day regardless of how many times I have blocked the number or even the grouping of like numbers of the first 6 digits with call blocking software. This persistent day time is bordering harassment as a night shift worker and significantly impacting my sleep. I have answered and told the company that I do not own my residence and cannot even agree to place solar panels, yet the calling still persists.

Solar was installed, at the point of sale I was told that an incentive payment would be paid at the time of tax filing for the following year. This is not true, the tax advisor while filing our taxes said that the government does not issue checks for this, but in fact do give a credit on the taxes until that amount is used up. My son and I own the house together, I'm retired and my son works, the loan was put in my name, it should have been my son's name. Now we are told it can not be changed and his name can not be added. The company will not allow any calls to upper management unless you tell the customer service what is it about. I asked to talk with the Sales Manager, I was told he would get an e-mail and return my call within 24 hours, that has not happened. After waiting a week for a return call I have given up.I would not recommend this company, their sales people need to be trained better, trained to help the customers not tell half truths.

Momentum Solar has been in contact with the customer. Our sales manager properly explained the federal tax credit qualification. The federal tax credit is a government funded program that is based upon eligibility by individual tax liability. Momentum Solar has reached out to the financier on behalf of ************** and the financier will be working to review the customers concerns regarding transferring the loan into her son's name so that her son will be able to claim the tax incentive for the next tax season. Our sales manager will remain in contact with ************** to advise of any updates we receive from the financier. The process has been explained to the customer, so she is aware, and the proper expectations are set moving forward.

Inverter is down and a panel is not producing energy. We have the replacement inverter and have been waiting for momentum to schedule a technician to come out and fix the inverter as it is under warranty, however have called them multiple and they always have an excuse why a technician cant be sent out. The momentum ******* office closed down and I am beginning to believe they have no contracted technicians in the area. I want this resolved as I have paid good money for this system . I have checked the contractual agreement and parts and labor are still covered. The business practices of Momentum are egregious in my opinion.

Our panels have been activated for 6 months and we have not saved any money on our monthly electricity costs. In fact, with our current UI bill and solar payback fee we are spending more on electricity with these PANELS UP than before. The sales pitch was very misleading in saying we would be saving every month, so please explain to me why we are not saving yet?

It was also explained that since we are now transitioning into spring / summer, the solar system will start producing at its peak. We purchased home in 2020 with an existing 26 year contact with Momentum Solar from previous owner. Before we committed to buying house, we spoke with a representative from Momentum who advised us that there was a one time courtesy of removal and reinstall of panels in the contract. We are in current need of this courtesy as we need to replace our roof. I called Momentum two weeks ago and was informed by a *** that we were not eligble for the removal/reinstall because we were not the original owners. I told her that we had a oral confirmation from their rep in 2020 that was not the case. She then proceeded to tell me it did not matter. I asked to speak to her manager and she refused. Eventually, she placed me on hold and came back on to say the manager, ******, confirmed what she told me. I asked to speak with the department that managed the removals and install and she told me no. I then sent an email to Momentum stating all the above. I then googled reviews and there were numerous fraud claims of our exact situation. Actual owners who signed the contract stating they were denied their supposed courtesy one time free removal/install. Based on that email I sent to Momentum, I received a call from ****** the *** Manager who said she was lodging a claim for removal/install and I would hear from someone.Wednesday, 3/20/24 I received a text from "*****" who asked for me to call to discuss. My husband called him 3 times yesterday and left messages with no call back. The number was a general number. I texted ***** this morning and he responded stating the charge to remove and reinstall is $6,398.00. That is more than what we would pay for 10 years of usage of panels. I replied it was unacceptable as we had an oral agreement with their representative in 2020. He stated that the contract with the original owner was non-transferable. This is unacceptable. We know what we were told and apparently so were others. I am hoping you can help us with the situation.

The salesmen pretended to review our account statements from the electric company that we have (SECO), in order to draw up an accurate offer based on our average consumption. He lied to us stating that per our statements, our average was ****** kWh and he was going to install panels that would cover ****** kWh. According to this offer he developed, we accepted and signed. After the installation, we noticed that the panels were barely covering any of our consumption. We made several attempts to address this situation but we were just told to wait about a year to be able to see the benefits. Its been over a year now and the situation has only gotten worse. We continue to pay the same amount on our electric bill from before the panels were installed PLUS the cost of the panels. This time we decided to contact SECO (our electric company) directly for help, and they told us that our consumption has always been ****** kWh, even prior to the panels. **** explained that this would have been seen in our account statements that we provided the solar panel company. Therefore, the salesman falsified the consumption amount on our contract to provide a price that would get us to buy, knowing that this would not cover our consumption and we would be forced to pay more for additional panels in the end. Despite Momentum Solar having made this error on our contract, they continue to tell us that the only solution is to pay for more panels.

      Business Response

Momentum Solar has been in contact with the customer. Momentum has conducted a billing analysis to analyze the ***************** production vs consumption. It was determined that the customer is consuming more energy than the solar system is producing. The sales representative did not falsify the consumption on the customers contract. Momentum Solar has provided ************** with a quote for additional panels to cover the over-consumption so that the customer can fully benefit from the solar system.

I am rejecting this response because:

Momentum Solar did provide incorrect information in the proposal about our consumption of energy, which made us accept their panels. Now, their solution is to buy more panels in CASH and hasvto be paid by us. We were scammed from the beginning.

Momentum Solar designed the system with the information that was provided to us by the homeowner. The solar system is designed off of historical usage. The homeowner is using more electricity than could have been anticipated at the time of sale. The homeowner's system is working as expected.
