In 2022 I entered into a contract to have solar panels installed in my home....at the time I confirmed that there was to be installed a wire mesh around the panels so as to not have critters and birds make nest and mess and ***** from Momentum confirm. When solar panels were installed the netting was not...I called to inquire as to when they would come out to install them and never received an answer. I now have multiple pigeon nests and excrement's on top of my roof under the panels. The amount of p*** that is falling down from the **** is enormous. This is cause for health of myself and my family who reside in this home.I called *** (provider) and was advised that they would contact Momentum to get a answer. I was advised that someone would get back to me in 14 business days....that was over a month ago....I called again over a week ago, with TICKET NUMBER ****** and was told that no decision had been made and that the earliest possible call back would be at least 1 week.I am now at over a week and still no response. the problem is getting worse and the damage to the actual roof is visible from street level.Business Response

A year ago I got solar with Momentum Solar.. They told me they would lower my electric monthly payment. They told me my solar and electric cost would be lower. The problem this was all a lie. I complained to the company I was now paying more with solar than before. I call Momentum and complain about my unaffordable bill.. They tell me that they never said I would pay total low fees. They said they meant I would only pay less for electricity. I argued that I meant for my total bill to go down. I was not mad to look for ways to pay higher monthly bills. They mainly came to my home and lied to me. I am confident that is a breech of contract and I would like legal help to deal with them. i want them to take there hardware off my roof. If you are looking for solar, it is not free, it is a scam and you end up paying more.Business Response

Momentum Solar has been in contact with the homeowner. Momentum has completed a billing analysis and has determined that the homeowner is using more energy than anticipated. I am rejecting this response because:This business has lied. Nobody has called me to let me know they were going to help me nor did anybody go through my electric bill to determine I was spending more than usual. When Momentum came to my house, I had the same consumption I have now. And based on that consumption they told me they could save me up to $40.00 per month. You see they are still lying like they did to my wife and I. I would like them to come and take their hardware, I cannot afford to pay the added fee to my electric bill. As I said before this company has terrible business morals and they feel they can get away with everything. They also have not quoted me on any extra panels. I am cautioning consumers to steer away from this company. If you end up getting their services at least you were warned.

I recently got my system up and running, and for a few months, I received three FPL bills that were under $60. However, the electric bill then skyrocketed to over $250. When I contacted the company, they informed me that my system was not working properly. They identified three issues with the installation that needed to be fixed to redirect the energy flow. The company promised to reimburse me for the lost energy during the months when the system was not working. They performed the necessary calculations, but before I could receive a reimbursement, I was required to sign an agreement releasing them from any liability. In addition, I've had multiple appliances and light bulbs blow out. To make matters worse, I received a notice from the finance company stating that my payments will almost double unless I can make a payment of over $18,000. I deeply regret the day I signed a contract with this unprofessional and awful company.Business Response

My wife and I met with the momentum *** in our home on or about Aug 17, 2019. The *** spent a long time explaining to us all about solar, the options, the cost, how the panels were engineered just for our home. My concern was the warranty and the *** told us that everything was completely under warranty and would be taken care of by Momentum. When I asked the *** about needing a new roof before the 25 year lease was up, he clearly answered that Momentum would remove the panels, store the panels and return them to the roof one time at no charge. Now, September 2024 we had a roof inspection done and the roofer determined that we need a new roof. So I called momentum and spoke with an associate to have the panels removed so the new roof can be installed. The associate at momentum told me that we will have to pay for this service. I told her that we were told by the momentum *** that there was a one time free of charge removal, storage and ***lacement of the panels if we needed a new roof. She asked if we had a coupon for this. We were NEVER given a coupon for this. We kept everything momentum gave us. There is no coupon. I see other people with the same issue online. These customers were also told about getting the panels removed for one time for free. The person who recommended Momentum to us also told me that his salesperson (the same person as we had) was also told by this salesperson that he could get the panels removed, stored and ***laced one time at no charge for a roof ***lacement. He also never received a coupon. We wonder if there really is any coupons at all. We feel like we were scammed. We knew we would need a new roof before 25 years was up and we relied on this information from the salesperson. Why would Momentums engineers design and install these panels on a roof that would need ***lacing 5 years later? The friend who recommended Momentum was also told the same thing. Can you please advise us on what we can do about this.Business Response

On September 3rd Momentum Solar came to my house to install our solar system. The entire system system was supposed to be completed and energized the same day. ******* the installation the electrician mentioned they didnt have the 200 amp disconnect switch to finish the job. The electrician mention that he would have to come back to finish the job. We were given a second date from the scheduling department.this date was Thursday September 12. The window they gave us was from 8am to 4pm. On that Thursday one came. We didnt receive a call from and anyone all day. I reached out to customer service at 5:05 pm. Customer service told me they were running late and were on there way. I then received a call 5 minutes later From a supervisor saying they apologize for customer service saying the were coming. He mention they werent on there way and that they werent coming. He then mentioned we would have to make another appointment. Schedule department reach out the next day and told me the next available was for 2 weeks away. I asked to speak with a manager. When we spoke i was able to get an appoint A little earlier then 2 weeks, She was able to get me an appointment on Wednesday September 18th. On the 18th i was told they were coming at 11 am. When no showed up again i called Customer service that afternoon to see where they were. Customer service told me they werent coming again and that they got stuck on a job. If I wouldnt have called again I wouldnt have heard from anyone again. I spoke to a manager again that afternoon and complained about the service and how this has been. Terrible experience. She promised me that they would come Thursday the 19th in the afternoon and said she would personally call to make sure they came. On the 19th the electricians finally showed up. They didnt have the outdoor 200 amp switch and told me they would have to reschedule again. Something needs to be done companys need to be held accountable. Some of the solar panels on our house have not been working properly since August 9. We have the app installed and notifications turned on and we were not notified that they werent working properly. We just found out on September 12 that now none of the panels are working. We contacted Momentum Solar on September 12 to get the issue fixed and it took over a week and multiple phone calls for them to give us a date a service technician came come to our house. On September 18 we were told someone will be coming on October 28. So the solar panels that are on our roof are doing absolutely nothing to help us they are just costing us more money (Between paying for the panels, paying a much higher electric bill and not producing any energy to sell back). Having customers wait over 6 weeks to have someone even come look to see what the problem is, is completely unacceptable. Especially when there is no reimbursement being offered!Business Response

Hello Sir/Ma'am,
I am filing a formal complaint against Momentum Solar due to misleading sales practices that have caused significant financial distress and frustration. In May 2022, I was assured by a Momentum Solar sales agent that once I installed solar panels, I would no longer receive utility bills. This was a key reason for proceeding with the installation, which was completed in October 2022.
However, since installation, I am paying not only for the solar panels but also for my regular electric bills. The system installed was based on a gross miscalculation of my household’s energy needs, designed to generate only 640 KWH per month—based on the meter reading from my old apartment. My current power usage is 1,000 to 1,500 KWH per month, far exceeding what the system produces.
Adding to my frustration, neighbors who installed solar panels with other providers have minimal or no utility bills, which is the outcome I was led to expect. Despite multiple attempts to resolve this issue with Momentum Solar, I was told I must pay for additional panels to meet my actual energy usage out of pocket. This is unacceptable, especially considering that I signed the contract in good faith, based on your sales agent’s assurances.
Additionally, a neighbor is facing the same problem, indicating a broader issue with Momentum Solar’s sales and installation practices.
Given the circumstances, I demand one of the following resolutions: either a complete removal of the solar panels from my property and a full refund of all payments made toward the system, or the addition of extra panels at no cost to meet my actual usage of 1,000 to 1,500 KWH per month.
I request this issue be resolved promptly. I expect a response from Momentum Solar within 14 days, detailing steps for resolution. Failure to address this matter will leave me with no choice but to escalate this complaint further.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. I look forward to a swift resolution.Business Response

In June, due to a high light bill, I learned my panels had not worked since May 14th. I tried to contact several people locally to assist. Finally got a corporate response. In July, a gentleman came to look at the problem, weather turned bad, he had to leave. In August, another person came to fix it at 6:30 at night. Found the problem, had to get permission to order the part. As of today (9/6/2024), my panels are still broken. I have paid Momentum $250 every month and paid over $300 every month to the power company. I am a Military retiree, I can't keep paying both these amounts, but Momentum has not contacted me about anything. I just get the run around. My system was over $50,000. I need my system fixed and would appreciate some money in return, why pay for something that is broken?
Thank you.Business Response
