Was told they would install from the outside to not damage any of my trim. Installed from the inside and caused massive amounts of damage to my trim Including breaks and gouges. Did not replace outside aluminum as included in my price, nor did they leave material that I paid for in my purchase price or adjust for aluminum cost/installation time. Three windows have sizing gaps. Was told if they used colored caulk it would have covered that and I wouldnt know. Have spent a solid month, over 20 emails, hours on the phone and hours waiting for someone to see it in person only to be pushed from employee to employee, but never allowed to get up to a manager. Then was offered 10% off of future purchase instead of repairing the damage they caused to my home. One window does not open properly; pops when it opens because I think its catching on the frame since it is one of the three with gap/crooked.Business Response

Window Nation apologizes to our customers for any frustration they've experienced since they purchased windows. Window Nation did speak to our customer multiple times, asking if they would like us to come out and service the affected windows, which they declined. Instead, they requested compensation, and we have provided them with $2000.00. Window Nation appreciates that our customer has allowed us to address their concerns.Customer Answer

I am awaiting confirmation of credit towards the balance of the original charge and that resolves this dispute. I still never heard from anyone above the local store but have been assured they are using this as a learning experience and that the credit will be issued.Initial Complaint

April 6th I attended the ** HomeShow and first made contact with WindowNation. A consultation date was set for April 9th. I had never had something like this done so was unsure of what to expect. I thought everything went well, the presentation made the company out to be fantastic and came across as transparent with many things. My fiance arrived at the end of the consult and we were given the pricing and financing options. We were told we would lose discounts if we did not sign at that time. We decided to lock in that price and we started to look at the finance options. We were told one possibility was pay the entire amount within 12 months. We were intending to get a loan so we opted for that option. As I began signing via an iPad certain parts were reviewed then I would add my signature. It was not until almost a week later when I reread the contract, the first time seeing it in its entirety, that I was not made aware of everything I had signed for. One being the cancellation policy. After signing, prior to the consultant leaving I was asked to leave a review. At this time I had not know I was missing key info, including, contract elements, financing factors, etc. so I left my review with what I initially thought was a good experience. After posting I was brought back to the other reviews and saw numerous complaints immediately. Not just product quality, but customer service, craftsmanship, professionalism and also tactics used to pressure people for contracts, deceitful pricing, sales and discounts. I have felt trapped by their contract and what feels like dishonesty. I had thought they were transparent but it feels like every time Im in contact with them or the install process, Im just waiting for the next surprise from them. As of today I received the packet from the financing company and learned the interest rate after the 12 months is over 21 percent, bringing the $13k windows to over $30k. I would like to cancel my contract with them, and avoid any further issues or complications.Business Response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. Although I do not believe the company is in a position to say whether or not a customer felt pressure from their sales tactics. Offering a one time Initial Visit Discount, DOES put pressure on people to make a decision or lose out on savings. Additionally I was told by the Sales Manager of the *******, ************* location he would give me my wish as long as I removed my 1 star review. This explains where much of their negative feedback has disappeared to..

We purchased windows in November from ****. We got a loan for 4 windows to be installed. Two men came out and installed and one window is a gigantic picture window. Then they left .My husband was home but I wasn't. There is a certain way I wanted the windows. I don't want a window that will pen with screens. They did not return the next day.
I called Window Nation and spoke to a lady. I told her there was no way they could have gotten the custom windows that quickly.
Two weeks ago, men arrived to measure the windows.
Window Nation called yesterday to ask when I wanted my windows installed. I asked again how they could have gotten the custom windows done so quickly. She said she was only calling to ask if we were ready to be installed. Then, I told her I didn't want the window they had already installed. I told her I was getting a lawyer because they weren't handling this properly.
They brought one big window for the side, but now there is wood between the current windows.

Window Nation appreciates our customer's complaint and their desired resolution. Window Nation would respectfully disagree with some of our customer's assertions. ********************** scheduled our customer installation on December 29, 2023, and during the installation, the technician installing the windows was injured and had to go to the hospital unfortunately, we were not able to complete the installation of their windows. Window Nation called the customer on December 30, 2023, to reschedule the installation of the remaining windows. We spoke to our customer on January 2, 2024, and she did explain that she wanted to cancel the project Window Nation explained to them that since we had the windows produced there would be a 60% cancelation fee. Window Nation did speak with our customer on March 14, 2024, and she agreed to allow us to complete her installation on March 23, 2024, unfortunately, the customer wouldn't allow us to complete the installation due to how cold it was. Window Nation Window Nation's team will continue to work with our customer in an attempt to resolve this matter.Customer Answer

We had a consultation with Window Nation on 3/26 about getting all new windows at our new house. We were worried about the new windows looking right because our windows have about a 5-6in gap between our two panes. The sales person told us that it would look great and would be minimal and easy work for us to make them look right. We decided to go forward and signed the paperwork and gave them a $2,500 down payment and was going to give them the rest at our window measuring appointment. The window measuring appointment happened on 4/2 and the guy from Window Nation said with our windows having that big of a gap we had 3 options. For them to do it like we had planed but he said it would look horrible and we would hate it, for us to have to put in a lot of work and money on making them look nice, or have them fix it for us but it was going to be so much more expensive. We decided to cancel and tried to call our sales *** but didnt hear back from him for 2 days and he said we would have to forfeit our $2,500 due to them ordering the raw materials. We said we have no idea how they can order the materials for our windows when they were never measured. He said that he would have his supervisor call us, which he never has. We have called numerous customer support people with no help. The cancelation team was supposed to call us within two business days and they still havent. The customer service people told us we would probably have to forfeit the $2,500 because we only had a 3 day cancelation policy according to our contract (that was never sent to us). We were supposed to receive the contract the next morning but never did. We feel cheated out of our $2,500 due to being lied to at our initial appointment and then not having the second one for a week later. We had no idea about the 3 day cancelation policy since we never received our contract, and it makes it even worse that we cant get a call back from anyone now that we are canceling.Business Response

On 7/22/23 we entered into contract with business to replace three windows in residence, the salesman ****** ***** dictated which windows sold by the business would be installed to fit the household and city requirements. We then paid the deposit. ****** assured us that Window Nation would take care of opening and closing the permit with the city of **************** (where the residence is located). On 8/1/23 there was a visit from an employee to measure the windows. Then the installation occurred two months later. The city inspector arrived on 10/23/23 and passed two of the three newly installed windows. The third FAILED inspection because the specific window ordered for the residence by ****** did not meet the city's egress requirements. After this visit I have made >10 attempts to reach the company for updates and response. Their phone system automatically disconnects after waiting on hold for hours, and also strangely will automatically call you on a second line after you make the initial call. On the two occasions I successfully reached a representative I was reassured that my issue was being escalated to supervisors after which I received no contact. I did not receive any responses to the many emails I sent to the company. I was given the number to a manager **** ****** ***********) which automatically goes to voicemail and his mailbox is full. After many months of silence they sent out an employee who remeasured the incorrect window on 3/1/24. Since then there has been continued silence from the company.Frustratingly, before the completion of the sale they were very responsive. Meanwhile my family is living with a blatant fire hazard. I expect Window Nation to replace the incorrect window they erroneously ordered and installed at no further cost to me. I expect Window Nation to then close out the permit with the city of **************** after the re-installed window passes the city's inspection.Business Response

I entered into a contract for a complete replacement of windows (11) and sliding doors (2) in my condo unit. The install was completed MAY 31, 2023, with two issues that required Window Nation's ("WN") repair: (1) both sliding screen doors had tears in the screens; and (2) one of the master bedroom window screens has a blob of dried caulking/paste on the screen that could not be removed. The installer provided a form for me to complete, which I did, and he advised that WN would set up a service date to replace the faulty items. The replacement work remains incomplete with no resolution in sight.
After NINE attempts to communicate and resolve these apparently simple issues, WN sent a representative to remove and repair/replace the items on NOVEMBER 29, 2023. On that date, WN took the faulty items back to their "shop" to address the issues, with the promise to return the following day to complete the repair/replacement. That did not occur. Indeed, after another follow-up with WN, they sent another representative to my condo on DECEMBER 14, 2023, with screen doors, but the window screen was not the one they removed 2 weeks before. The representative (Shawn) advised that the previous representative lost my screens. While its is uncertain as to whether the screen doors that were installed are the ones I purchased originally, I allowed Shawn to install them to move this project toward completion.
At this time, WN has failed to live up to its promises to resolve the remaining issue (missing window screen), and in fact I have been getting the run-around from its incompetent customer service department. Indeed, I have sent at least three email outlining my request (sent every 30 days since December 14, 2023), and made numerous calls with no movement or information on the window screen WN took from me and never returned.
I want WN to replace the faulty window screen that I PAID FOR, and they removed, to end this nightmare project and in hope I never need service from WN.Business Response

Window Nation has completed all service for this customer and has attached the signed completion form.Customer Answer
Date: 05/09/2024
I reject Window Nation's ("WN") response because it is a misrepresentation of what I signed after the agent installed a screen in the master bedroom (NOT the bathroom as indicated in the false document attached to WN's response). After the installation, I acknowledged ONLY that a screen was installed, but the acknowledgment DID NOT provide that the work was done to my satisfaction. Indeed, the agent made me sign my name on his computer tablet under one statement ONLY; that he installed a screen. Window Nation is a shady company as evidenced by this latest film-flam document they created. Note that I acknowledge that this screen installed (nearly one year after the work was supposed to be completed) apparently fits and is what should have been provided one year ago. Nevertheless, the work and related service WAS NOT completed to my satisfaction given WN's failure to timely respond to my numerous requests for service and WN's countless misrepresentations and false promises in regard to how/when they were going to complete their contractual obligations.
One more thing, I notice WN has no response to my request for some type of refund/monetary compensation given that I paid for a warranty and service which was included in the original contract and for which I received nothing of value in return.
Sincerely,
***** ***Business Response

On 2/1/24 *** came to our house to demonstrate Window Nation products and give a quote for whole house window replacement. We agreed to the quote and gave *** the deposit check for $8,364.00.2/7/24 Window Nation sent someone back out to the house to remeasure and confirm the windows. The technician found that *** forgot one of the windows and one of the windows would need to be made of tempered glass. The technician indicated that the price would increase.I texted *** about the needed changes and he informed me that there would be a price increase and that he would get back to me about the increased price. I let him know that I'd like someone from management to call me.2/8/24 ****** (sales manager) called and I let him know about the situation and that if there was any more of a price increase I would need to cancel, as I was already above budget. He agreed that he would look to see if he could fit the window and change in glass type into the quote at no charge.2/14/24 *** text to inform me that he met with the install crew and manager, and that they had already priced the the project too low and that they could not include the window and change in glass type without a price increase. He said that he could cancel the project and refund the deposit. I agreed to cancel the project 2/22/24 *** reached back out through text stating that they could now add in the missing window and glass type change 2/25/24 *** reached out again about being able to include the window and glass type in the original quote. I text back letting him know that we were thinking about it. (we had already contacted other companies to come out for new quotes).2/29/24 *** Text to follow up if we had made a decision, but we had not made any decision nor had we gotten HOA approval yet.3/16/24 *** reached out to see if we had any other questions. I him know that HOA approved window replacement, but we had to decide which company to go with.I have more information but out of space.Customer Answer

3/16/24 continued: ****** responded that it is too late to cancel the order, and that the contract they provided explains the right to cancel. I replied that if that is his stance, then we would definitely not be doing business with Window Nation, and that I have a text from *** canceling the order.
I sent a copy of ***** text stating he would cancel the order. I informed ****** that I would be filing a complaint with the BBB and contacting corporate.
****** then tried to call me, but I texted asking that he not contact me. ****** replied that I was welcome to call corporate and that they would no longer proceed with the project and would cancel the job.
****** tried to call me again, but I did not answer and simply replied with the same text asking him not to contact me; that I would be calling corporate.
3/28/24: I called corporate and explained the situation, but their response was that they would transfer the issue back to the local branch.
4/5/24: I again called corporate, letting them know that I still had not received the refund check. The gentleman on the phone was very nice, but didn't really know who to contact about the issue. He said he would reach out to the accounting department.

Customer reviews posted on/after July 5, 2024, will be published indefinitely unless otherwise voluntarily retracted by the user who submitted the content, or BBB no longer believes the review is authentic. BBB Business Profiles are subject to change at any time. If you choose to do business with this company, please let them know that you checked their record with BBB.
As a matter of policy, BBB does not endorse any product, service or business. Businesses are under no obligation to seek BBB accreditation, and some businesses are not accredited because they have not sought BBB accreditation. BBB charges a fee for BBB Accreditation. This fee supports BBB's efforts to fulfill its mission of advancing marketplace trust.
