  I tried to work for Task Rabbit. I have many years of experience in multiple areas including IT. They make you pay $25 just to register, (which sent off the 1st red flag) legitimate job placement agencies never ask you to pay in advance. In fact, my credit card wouldnt let the charge go through initially because they thought it was an illegitimate charge. I wish I had listened to them. Red flag #2 was that they kept urging me to give them my bank information for direct deposit (ostensibly so I could get paid). They wouldnt let me work until I did this! Long story short(er) I could never get access to the app after that for more than a few minutes. If I signed off I had to reset my password which I did eight times in one day until I finally thought this is insane! If this is how it is registering with this company, I can only imagine what a train wreck it would be trying to work for them. But I had foolishly given them my bank info, which I went in and changed and deleted my profile. I had to file a dispute with my credit card company to get my $25 bucks back, not only that, but I had to close my checking account and re-open another. In short, I spent untold hours with this utter scam of a company. I wish I had looked here first and read all the bad reviews. ****** learned the hard way. Thankfully, none of my accounts have been compromised. If you are looking for work there are plenty of other legitimate sites, but dont waste your time with these cynical nasty but initially slick, crooks!! I probably wasted 20 hours and I havent even begun to change all of the accounts that were linked to my former checking account. What a mess! Stay away!!

  Do not use this service. You see one price and go ahead and hire. Once the job is done and you get your bill it's much higher. Also they take their time doing the job so that the clock can tick and they could charge more..I will never hire them again. They rip you off

  Do not book a mover through TaskRabbit! I booked someone well over a week ago. Last minute they cancelled and now want literally 4x as much for two helpers for a two hour minimum and future book date.
  I am boiling mad. Reporting to BBB for bait and switch. #TaskRabbit

  they advertise e. 40 dollars an hour...so you plan accordingly the worker invoices you afterwards... they add a 100 dollars convenience and trust fee .,.. this is fraud...handy man 4 hours and broke my microwave is charging me 350 dollars... i hired him to move it because the door would not open he instead forced open the door and of course microwave is no longer hinged properly and wont work... claiming that he move a cabinet that was flush... 350 he did a couple of more things... but they have hidden fees which is a bait ad switch...scam... tjis is my first review ever with the bbb

  What a terrible company. Someone said they worked on my lawn for three hours, charged my credit card and they wont refund. This guys never been to my house. Taskrabbit houses criminals and defends them. What a joke! Do not ever use.

  Supposedly 5* [multiple reviews] ************ of ************ cancelled at the last minute, after we had already re-confirmed a late afternoon appt. We needed a special shower attachment installed for my girlfriend when she left the hospital so I booked the highest rated person I could find. ************ accepted, asked my to reconfirm the day before which I did. Today when I was in a business meeting, he emailed me to say an earlier appt was over and he was available at 1pm. I was not home and not available for phone calls. I contacted him after I left the meeting and he told me he could not come anymore even though our appt was for 430 in the afternoon. I told him I wasn't home so it would not have worked out anyway and there was no need for him to cancel just because some other job was finished earlier, and he canceled ******* and blocked me for absolutely no reason. AVOID ***** C AT ALL COSTS!

  Their "elite" (4.9 stars) ****** no-showed and went unresponsive the day of the job. They have no way to leave him a review since he didn't do the work. Their automated message came thru the next day saying sorry he couldn't complete the task because he had a conflict and asked me to rebook. HE SET THE ***** He will have zero consequences for no-showing. It was a time sensitive job as well. Spare yourself the headache and use a different service with an honest review system.

  Tried multiple times to schedule a ****** to pick up an item which had to be picked up by a due date. Multiple taskers canceled including one on the day of pick up. DO NOT TRUST A TASKERS RATING. TASKRABBIT WILL NOT LET YOU RATE THEM WHEN THEY CANCEL EVEN IF IT LEAVES YOU HANGING AT THE LAST MINUTE.

  Worst then putting IKEA together yourself ***************** IKEA partnership is a scam. They told me my project would cost $250 and take 4 hours. The guy was here for 7 hours, charged me $450+ and left it with parts not attached, pieces hanging off, wires hanging in front. At one point he ask me how to put it together. Customer only wanted to give me a credit toward future services. When one person offered a reduction in price over phone, chat person changed it back.terrible experience. ***** then putting ikea together yourself.

  Great concept. Horrible execution. So far all the taskers I have hired were decent to really good. (I am in centra *******) It's the company itself. They clearly want to make a bundle off you with little effort or assistance as possible and then blame the ******. You book and folks just don't show - with no word before or after from TaskRabbit.The company charges a "Trust" fee above the taskers fee - which the taskers don't know much about, nearly 8 dollars per hr. for EVERY hour you use the ******. IE. ****** ***** / hr for 3 hrs. You pay $28.00/hr or $84. $24 extra for TaskRabbit who does nothing but have a website. That leaves little room for a tip for the ******. They sure don't give any customer service. There are lots of these type services out there. Avoid this one.
