    I am filing a formal complaint against TaskRabbit regarding an overcharge for a trash and furniture removal task. The agreed-upon price for the task was between $340 and $370, which included necessary assistants, as stated in our chat thread within the TaskRabbit app. The task involved the removal of large furniture, including couches. The original ****** and I agreed that any assistants required would be part of the price. However, the ****** failed to show up at the scheduled time and, without my consent, reassigned the task to another individual. This second ******, who was ill-equipped and had no help, struggled for several hours before calling a family friend for assistance. Despite these issues, the original ****** then attempted to charge me over $900, which included hours for an assistant that was already included in the original price. This charge is clearly erroneous and does not reflect the services actually rendered. When I contacted TaskRabbits customer support team, I was informed that the ****** had violated company policies by assigning the task to someone else without my permission and failing to show up. The representative confirmed that they could see the agreed-upon amount in the chat logs and assured me that the issue would be escalated to TaskRabbit's policy team. I was also instructed not to pay the disputed amount, and my card was removed from my profile to prevent any automatic charges. Despite following up multiple times over the past month through calls, emails, and chat conversations, I have not received a resolution and have often been given vague or contradictory responses. More recently, I was informed that I would need to pay the over $900 charge before TaskRabbit could address the issue. This contradicts the previous guidance I received, where I was told not to pay until the matter was resolved. I believe it is unfair to require payment for work that was not completed as originally agreed.

    I am rejecting this response because:
    Task Rabbit has the ability per its policy to adjust all invoices. The fact that you expect me to pay the disputed amount is ridiculous and that you may be able to find an amicable solution is preposterous. Task Rabbit on its own removed the ability to charge my card and my complaint history shows that task rabbit instructed me not to pay the invoice while it was being disputed. Why would I pay for services not rendered? Or reward the ****** who engaged in fraud? Absolutely not.

    I have used TaskRabbit multiple times this year and only recently learned that the company is scamming customers and ********************** service providers out of money. I learned that the price the company shows me for various services is actually higher than the amount the TaskRabbit service provider lists their services for. For example, a TaskRabbit I know was charging $25/hour for cleaning services, but the company showed me that specific TaskRabbit provides the cleaning services for $25.81/hour. After seeing this, my friends and I compared the price they listed all their TaskRabbit services for against the prices that the company showed me on the site for these services. In doing this, we saw that every single TaskRabbit service was marked up higher than the amount the TaskRabbit service provider listed their service for. Therefore, the company TaskRabbit is charging customers more for services/tasks than the ********************** service providers charge for these services/tasks. The markup on the service provider's tasks ranged from $.81/hour to $18/hour. This is in addition to the extremely high hourly "Trust and Support" Fee that the company collects from customers. This is absolutely deceptive and seems fraudulent since this markup is not disclosed to customers or ********************** service providers. Customers should be refunded this money immediately and the practice discontinued.

    I used TaskRabbit to swap a car battery that was provided for the ****** and they charged me $160, 2.3 hours worth of work. Swapping a car battery is at most a 20 minute job. They refuse a refund.

    While the ****** did technically start the job and leave the job at a total of 2.3 hours as listed, he left for a huge chunk of that time to grab basic tools to swap the car battery. We shouldn't have to pay more than twice of what we thought we would simply because he was unprepared.

    *****. O, a ****** from Taskrabbit,showed up 35 mins late at 1:35 pm on September 13, 2025, tore apart the dry wall, left it open with wood, pipes, and studs exposed. Left at 2 pm to go to another job, and charged me $114.56 up front, which I already paid, to return and finish the job on September 21, 2025. He did not show up on September 21, and rescheduled September 22, 2025 at 1 pm. I received a message just before he was supposed to arrive on September 22, 2025, that he was "no longer available." Requesting a refund for $114.56, plus additional cost of $900 to repair the damage that he caused, while overcharging me for 25 mins of work and supplies which wasn't used or needed since he abandoned me and decided not to show up to finish the nightmare of a mess that he caused.

    I am rejecting this response because:

    The Taskrabbit Happiness Pledge
    Subject to the terms, exclusions and limitations set out in this Pledge, Taskrabbit may, in its sole discretion, offer up to Ten Thousand US Dollars ($10,000) in response to requests for compensation made by Users for damages or injuries arising from the performance of a Task (Claim(s)).
    To be an eligible Claim under the Pledge:
    The Task giving rise to the Claim must have been booked and fully paid for through the Taskrabbit Platform;
    The Claim must only be for:
    Property Damage - Physical damage to, or loss of, tangible property belonging to a Client due to the negligence of a ******.       

    My complaint follows all of their "happiness pledge" conditions above, yet they refuse to reimburse me for $1,014.56 in damages caused by their ******, which is well within their up to $10,000 request for compensation limit as above.  This does not even include my time loss from work dealing with this nightmare, and waiting not once, but twice for the ****** ***** O., who never showed up to complete the job.

    Taskrabbit Support: "We have a high standard for the Taskers in our community and Im sorry to hear your ****** didn't fulfill their commitments. When registering, Taskers agree to complete every task on time and communicate with you if they're not able to. If you still need this task completed, I'd encourage you to book again. We have many Taskers who would love to help you get this done! Ive added a $45.82 credit to your account, which will automatically apply to the invoice on your next task its one small way we want to help make this right."

    They only gave me $45.82 in "credit" to use on their website.  Absolutely horrible, considering their happiness pledge!  Not even willing to refund me my original payment of $114.56!

    I am rejecting this response because:

    I have attached multiple photos of the original small hairline cracks in the drywall that needed to be repaired, compared with the massive damage afterwards performed by ***** *., with ****, studs and pipes exposed.  Instead of patching and fixing the hairline cracks, ***** *. decided to rip apart my ceiling, even in areas which were perfectly fine, with no defects at all!  This is clearly demonstrated in multiple photos.

    ***** *. then said that he would fix it, but missed 2 scheduled follow-up appointments, and then said that he was no longer available.

    Taskrabbit even after admitted that their taskers are supposed to finish the project, and that ***** *. was wrong to abandon it.  Despite all of this evidence, they still refuse to stand by their own "happiness pledge" and reimburse me for the atrocious damage which their so called ****** caused.  Apparently they and their happiness pledge are nothing but fraud, causing unnecessary damage and swindling the consumer of their precious time and money.

    On August 19, 2025, TaskRabbit support confirmed in writing that a $67.06 credit on my account would automatically apply to my next invoice. TaskRabbits own *********** also states: If you receive TaskRabbit credit, itll be automatically added to your account balance and applied to your next invoice- no further action is required.On August 28, 2025, my ***** credit card was charged the full invoice amount for a task instead of applying the $67.06 credit. When I contacted support, TaskRabbit refused to apply the credit, claiming credits only apply to hourly tasks. This is inconsistent with their written policy and the confirmation I received from their representative.I requested a refund directly from TaskRabbit, but they have refused. I have documented proof of the policy screenshot, the agent confirmation on August 19, and subsequent support responses denying the credit.Resolution requested: Refund of $67.06 to my credit card, consistent with TaskRabbits published policy and their written confirmation.

    On 9/1 I hired movers through Dolly by Taskrabbit. The total cost of the move was $269. The movers were very slow and requested the additional time be paid in cash. I noticed once they left they had broken my TV. On the taskrabbit website it says all moves are coved by insurance (no conditions appear in the statement). I contacted the company and they refused to cover any of the damages incurred. The damage amounts to around $300. The support ticket request is ********. I made a second request on the same email and they once again denied it and provided no recourse.

    I am filing an report of an incident that happened while utilizing the app Taskrabbit. I had a fraudulent meeting setup and ended up having my life put on the line by some random person pulling a gun. Today's date September 11 ********************************************************************************************************************************** money. I feel like they are not following their own policies and breaking legal agreements within their own terms and also need to review a HR compliance course for concern and conversation skills on extreme situations like this, that were possibly life and death. I don't know what information is needed in this situation but I have explained this already multiple times to cops and Taskrabbits support and whatever questions you may have I will answer them. I have their policies shown as well as my conversation report with Phoenix PD attached

    ****** came to fix plumbing situation. Left with the issue completely unresolved, in fact he caused a leak that wasnt there prior. Contacted taskrabbit for a refund and theyve issued me a $27 dollar credit (i paid $70 for this service).     I paid for a cleaning with a taskrabbit contractor that never occurred. Upon filing a complaint with taskrabbit, I was denied a refund for this fraudulent charge and also never heard back from their support team after emailing multiple times.
