TaskRabbit allowed a ****** to overcharge me for services that were not performed as invoiced. Despite providing timestamped chat logs and photo evidence proving the task duration was less than billed, TaskRabbit Support refused to investigate or adjust the invoice. They continue to bill me for inflated hours without justification. I am requesting a refund of the overbilled amount and a formal investigation into TaskRabbits billing dispute practices, as their customer support is refusing to properly handle disputes even when clear evidence is provided. The ****** offered to install my Ring doorbell and door handle for free as a thank you for booking with him, but still billed me for that time. Additionally, the drive from the pickup location to my home is a 30-minute trip, yet I was billed for 70 minutes of drive time. These screenshots show the Taskers message offering free services and the timestamps confirming the inflated travel and task durations that were charged.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:
it does not address the core issue of my complaint. The ****** significantly delayed their arrival, which caused the task to take longer than necessary. The excessive billing was not reflective of actual work performed but of time lost in transit and inefficiency. I have provided screenshots showing that the expected task time was far shorter and that the route taken was not optimal.
Additionally, the ****** performed an extra task that he explicitly offered to do for free as a thank-you for my continued business, but then later charged me for that time. This was misleading and unethical.
While Taskrabbits policy allows Taskers to bill for time spent, it should not override reasonable expectations of efficiency, honesty, and professionalism. Billing for delays and tasks that were offered as complimentary is not acceptable.
I am requesting a partial refund of $176.80 for the unnecessary hours billed due to the Taskers delays and for the complimentary task that was improperly charged.

Complaint Against TaskRabbit I recently relocated from ******** to *********, driving over 20 hours with my service animal. I was exhausted, hungry, and in urgent need of getting my apartment situated. Naturally, if a piece of furniture is available for immediate delivery, I will want to secure it.I hired a ****** to pick up a dining table based on the sellers provided photos and description. Upon arrival, it became clear that the sellers information and photos were inaccurate the table was not what I ordered. This was not my fault, yet TaskRabbits policy appears to protect Taskers while leaving customers with no real recourse.Instead of receiving a refund, I have been penalized losing $59.99 in fees and valuable time and I still do not have the furniture I wanted. I ordered movers on 7/28 from 11-1pm through Dolly by task rabbit. This company ensured the driver will arrive no later than 11:30 but close to the time, I called the company to advise the driver said he cant arrive until 12:30 which was not agreed upon. A few minutes later I received a text that said Im here -11:34 but I was at the front gate and my sister was at the door. The driver was not in the complex and did not call me or alert the company. The notes stated: The drive accused he came and you cancelled. This was not true out possible seeming he already stated he was over an hour away. This seems to be a known scam from this company. I posed the question on social media and the cancellation happens often causing them having to dispute. My concern is not only for myself but for the business conducting business outside of its own policy as per the screen shots provided. I booked a TaskRabbit service to install a recessed bathroom medicine cabinet in the wall above my vanity and, as stated in my original request, to patch and paint as necessary to make the job look professional. The ****** (handyman) completed the installation, but the patching and painting were not done properly.The task was performed on July 4, 2025, and the ****** marked it as complete on July 15, 2025, which triggered payment even though the job was not finished to a professional standard. The wall around the cabinet was not sanded or smoothed adequately, so paint dried with visible lumps from trapped debris, and areas where patching was done are still visible. The drywall around the cabinet was not finished cleanly, and the end result does not look professional, as was clearly required.I contacted TaskRabbit support and they acknowledged the issue by offering a $221 credit. However, the credit is only usable for future bookings and requires me to pay full price upfront again, which is not a fair solution after a poor experience.I responded with a fair counter-offer: allow me to pay half of the original charge if the $221 credit is applied to the current task. TaskRabbit refused and did not offer any meaningful alternative.I am requesting a billing adjustment so that the $221 credit is applied to the original invoice, and I pay the remaining balance. TaskRabbits response simply repeats generic policy language and refers to a Happiness Pledge without offering a meaningful resolution. I am not asking for a refund I am asking for a fair adjustment. I reject this response. TaskRabbits reply is filled with boilerplate language and fails to address the actual issue I raised in my original complaint.
To recap: I hired a TaskRabbit handyman to install a recessed medicine cabinet and patch and paint the surrounding wall to achieve a professional finish. The installation was incomplete and substandard the handyman failed to sand properly, resulting in a lumpy, uneven wall finish. In addition, paint was applied sloppily over unsanded areas, and the patchwork is still visibly noticeable. This outcome is not in line with what was described in my task request, and I do not consider the task complete.
TaskRabbit offered a 50% credit, which I would have accepted if it had been properly applied to the amount due. Instead, they require full payment up front and have not applied the credit in any way that allows me to pay the adjusted balance. I have made it clear multiple times that I am willing to pay half the cost if the credit is applied appropriately they have failed to act on that.
They continue to refer me to their customer service team, but I have already contacted customer service directly, and they have been unwilling or unable to resolve the issue. Referring me back there again is disingenuous and unhelpful.
At this point, I remain open to resolving this amicably but will not pay the full amount for incomplete and unprofessional work.Business Response

TaskRabbits latest response once again avoids addressing the actual issue and instead repeats generic Happiness Pledge language. This is the same boilerplate they have provided before and does nothing to move the matter toward resolution.
I have already contacted their customer service multiple times, provided detailed documentation, and made a specific, reasonable proposal: pay for half of the task cost if they apply their credit to the remaining balance. TaskRabbit has never acknowledged, addressed, or even responded to this proposal in any meaningful way.
Their repeated instruction to reach out to support is not a genuine attempt to resolve the matter. They already have all relevant emails, photos, and receipts, and I have already gone through their support process without success. At this point, it is clear that this contact support suggestion is a deflection tactic to avoid addressing my request.

We hired a plumber with over 150 - 5 star reviews to install a reverse osmosis below our sink. All looked great but he said he would be back that week to finish the job due to not having all the tools. Taskrabbit was aware of that but yet made us pay anyway. Fast forward a few days not only DOES HE NOT RESPOND TO **. IT WAS A BOTCHED JOB THAT FLOODED UNDER OUR SINK. On 7/18/25 I was stuck in a bind with trying to find help me with my move. On taskrabbit. There were a few people who came up to pick from. I reached out but two canceled. The third ****** offered but stopped talking to me and I waited 2-3 hrs for him. I reached out to my final ******, who was supposed to be elite and he booked the task. I asked for 11am. Initially he told me ********* he would be there, due to my location. The address was on the confirmation so you know when you need to leave by. I responded back I would start moving stuff I asked in my task while I waited for him. Then ********* came and went and I asked where he was and no response. At approx. 129pm he finally texted back stating he was 35 mins away. He showed up at approx. 225pm. Of course none of his timestamps during that time are on the screen shots. I reached out to help support several times about these incidents especially this one. He advised he was only going to charge me just for 2 hours but charged me for 2.25 hours which jacked up the price. Help support told me they would give me a $35 credit for this incident but they didn't even address the fact that he was over 3 hrs late. My uhaul truck was due at 430 but we didn't finish until 445 so I was late returning uhaul and charged for this but it was later corrected after disputing my situation. All help support could say was they were sorry but because I have no proof of him saying he was only going to charge me for 2 hours, they couldn't do anything. How can I show proof of something that someone knew to say in ****** and not through text. This ****** said "Now I feel bad for showing up late and holding you up" after he realizing I had a first floor apartment. He also said "I'm only going to charge you for 2 hours not a ***** more or not a ***** less". The ****** charged $85.55/hr plus $29.08 for ***** Fee. The total was $114.63/hr for me. The cost at the end was $192.50 for 2.25 hours, $65.46 for ***** Fee, totaled $257.96.Business Response

Have been utilizing the services of Task Rabbit over the past four years. I have spent well over $30,000 with this company over this time period. Over the past six months I have notice double and triple ******** on my credit card equaling thousands of dollars. Now I need to review a longer period to see how long this has been occurring. Hello, On May 25, 2025, I hired a TaskRabbit employee to install wallpaper in my dinning room and bedroom. The wallpaper in my bedroom is in good condition. However, the wallpaper in my dinning room has fallen off the wall. As a result, I requested a non-specified refund. I paid $333.39 via their company's website. TaskRabbit only offered me an apology. I would like to be refunded some of the money that I paid. Note, out of the $333.39 the TaskRabbit collected $89.73 for Trust and Support Fees. So, I ought to at least be refunded this amount. On 7/19/25, I used Taskrabbit to book a someone to assist on an electrical job. When using the website, it incorrectly put my state as NY and never gave me an opportunity to verify or correct the incorrect state. After the person who was sent to help couldnt find my address, I was advised to cancel the job and contact customer support. Found out that since I cancelled the job, I was going to be charged for the job, even though no services were ever provided. I contacted Taskrabbit customer service and they refused to refund the charge, even after agreeing that if the person in the wrong state cancelled the job, I wouldnt have been charged.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:
As a new customer, I shouldnt be punished for using their platform. They offered a store credit which is unacceptable as due to their poor customer service, I do not wish to use their platform again. I was refused to actually speak with a manager, and they closed my ticket without letting me know. They should refund the money since no services were performed as the task was created in error.

When canceling a task within 24 hours of its start time, the Client will incur a one-hour nonrefundable cancellation fee based on the Taskers hourly rate and any Taskrabbit fees. This cancellation policy (************************************************************************************************************************) exists as *************** time in their schedules and turn down other work opportunities to assist with a task. Although we are unable to provide a refund of the cancellation fee, the feedback provided by the Client is very valuable to our team as we continue to develop and improve our product. I was instructed by the ****** to cancel the appointment. The customer service agent said if I didnt do that, I wouldnt have been charged anything. I should not have to pay to learn how to use your service.
