When canceling a task within 24 hours of its start time, the Client will incur a one-hour nonrefundable cancellation fee based on the Taskers hourly rate and any Taskrabbit fees. I am rejecting this response because:I am rejecting TaskRabbits response because it fails to address the actual events that occurred in my case. This was not a simple last-minute cancellation the situation was caused by repeated platform and ****** issues, not by me.
TaskRabbit canceled on me twice, not the other way around.
They then reassigned me to a ****** who was unresponsive, hard to communicate with, and ultimately told me to cancel the task myself.
I have messages showing the ****** requested that I cancel and I did so only after it was clear the task would not proceed.
Despite these clear circumstances, TaskRabbit charged me a cancellation fee, which is completely inappropriate given that the breakdown came from the platform and the ******, not the client.
Their response ignores the facts and applies a generic policy that does not reflect the reality of my experience. I am asking for the cancellation fee to be reversed based on the documentation I have and the sequence of events that clearly show I acted in good faith.Sincerely,

In the chat thread with the ******, the Client initiated the conversation of cancelling roughly three hours before the task, stating that their plans had changed. Because the ****** was not the initiator, they advised that the Client would need to cancel on their end. The cancellation fee being charged is in line with our policy and will remain. We understand that chargebacks are a tool that Clients can use with their bank and the Client has every right to do so.

I am rejecting this response because:I reject TaskRabbits response.
Their statement omits critical context and mischaracterizes my cancellation. The cancellation was not simply due to a change of plans. It was a reasonable decision prompted by TaskRabbits repeated failure to deliver reliable service:
One ****** canceled on me within an hour of the scheduled task the day before.
Another (******) canceled the day of the task.
The final ****** asked a redundant question but did not reply to my follow-up, leaving me uncertain if the task would be completed.
Given this pattern two last-minute cancellations in a row and unclear communication from the third ****** I had legitimate reason to cancel. I could not risk a third cancellation on a time-sensitive project. I was moving from one apartment to another and was already a day behind due to taskrabbit's negligence. This was not a normal or voluntary cancellation; it was a necessary action due to the platforms unreliability and lack of timely support.
Enforcing a cancellation fee against me under these circumstances is unfair. TaskRabbits policy should not override the fact that I was forced to cancel because of their platforms failures.Furthermore, TaskRabbit currently has over 100 one star reviews on the BBB website, many of which cite similar issues with cancellations, lack of accountability and poor customer support. This pattern underscores the legitimacy of my complaint.
I request that BBB continue to mediate this matter and keep the case open until a full refund or fair resolution is issued.

We prepaid for a taskrabbit service through ****, a ****** was assigned to us. He showed up but decided to cancel the task by citing irrational demands. As a user who has paid for the service already I was hoping taskrabbit would help us assign an alternative or pay back the money. We tried contacting taskrabbit customer support through multiple calls which were never answered. On the app the task was vanished (I could no longer see the task or file a complaint about the ******). There is no redressal system for the ****** having caused us time and money. Taskrabbit does not provide mechanisms to ensure consumers are not taken for a ride. I would like my money back and a complaint against the ******. I have video evidence.Business Response

Hired a task rabbit for a task. Initially the amount was around $30 some odd number an hour for errands. ****** state the task is more like a personal assistance and it would cost $55 an hour instead of $30 something bucks and hour. Task was completed and instead of the agreed upon amount. Im getting charged $77.45 an hour. **************** is absolutely unhelpful said its just the fees. $22.45 an hour additional of Fee???? In early February Task Rabbit provided me a list of vetted and approved plumbers in my area. I selected one and had an appointment for 2/10/25. The person named *** *. came. He was professional and nice. However, since he installed a ***lacement valve cartridge on my bathtub faucet, I can no longer get cold water. This is not normal. I had cold to hot water before even with the broken valve cartridge he ***laced. At the time the handle would not turn properly and sometimes it was difficult to shut off the water. I googled today and ****** AI says the most likely cause of this total lack of cold water is an improper installation of the valve cartridge. I would like to hire a professional accredited plumber to come and fix this improper install. *** held himself out in his bio as someone who is a professional plumber by trade and has all the certifications and proper training. Not all plumbers with TR are pros. Some are self taught handymen. I just want a refund so I can hire a professional plumber to come and fix the job that *** did improperly. Yes, per TR's fine print, I only had 30 days to complain but I didn't know that. I didn't know that because they bury that information on their website and it is not info directly provided to clients at the time they book their appointments. *** *. is no longer with task rabbit so I cannot get him to come out to re-do his work nor am i able to contact him. I tried to speak with TR customer service today and on the phone they had me on hold for 45 minutes. I never did talk to anyone so I then hung up and switched to online chat help. each time I provided info to the chat *** "*****" it took on average ***** minutes for a response. But in the end they told me I am out of luck for any kind of refund or re-install/***air of ***** work. That is wrong and unfair. I am obviously not asking for a new task or additional new unrelated work on the tub faucet. I just want a re-do and done properly this time.Business Response

This individual misrepresented themselves and still has unauthorized access to my personal address, raising serious privacy and safety concerns. Despite providing detailed evidence, TaskRabbit has failed to resolve the matter or protect my ********* addition, I was subjected to over two hours of abusive phone support from three different TaskRabbit representatives:- An unidentified male representative who was sarcastic, dismissive, refused to escalate my case, and stalled the call.- ****, who claimed to be a supervisor and my final point of contact, dismissed my concerns, blamed me, and refused further escalation.- *****, who responded by email denying the availability of a supervisor to address my requests and reiterated previous dismissals.- *****, whom I have attempted to engage for management oversight, but from whom I have not received clear communication or meaningful resolution.I have repeatedly requested:An immediate refund for the incomplete task, with written assurance that no chargespresent or futurewill be applied, including any fake invoices.The removal of the fraudulent ****** from the platform.A formal investigation and internal review of the four customer service representatives named above, including retrieval and review of call recordings.Written confirmation that my complaints have been formally documented, escalated, and are being handled appropriately.TaskRabbits failure to address these issues despite repeated requests is unacceptable. I had booked a house cleaner through task rabbit. The cleaner had an incorrect rate displayed for the job. Over chat, the cleaner increased the price of the job. A price was average highest per hour for furniture assembly of $37.10. Once the ****** completed the job 9 hours I was charged an additional $125. This was not agreed upon and was not expected. I feel that this company is misleading the public and the true cost. The ****** showed me he was getting $36 an hour. $37.10 is what I agreed on for 9 hours. The company automatically charged my credit card for $457. This is a large sticker shocked to say the least and completely unexpected. I would never have pursue this had the true cause been disclosed up front. I am not getting anywhere with customer service nor chats. I have attempted multiple times only to get that we have high call volume and we'll get back with you. I held on hold for over an hour only to be told a supervisor will call me and no one has done so. Please help as the ****** is still waiting to be paid. No one is anticipating an additional charge of this magnitude added hourly to the invoice. Attached is a copy of advertised rate. Trust and verify fee should be advertised next to the hourly rate, instead of after booked and later disclosed in an email. Taskrabbit is betting on the average consumer missing this. Task Rabbit has some shady practices. This is the 2nd time I've had an issue with them within 2 years. The most recent incident occurred on 6.18.2025 with a billing issue due to a loophole in their cancellation policy. I have tried on 2 occasions to rectify the situation and get my funds returned to my bank account. Their remedy was to issue credit under false pretenses for future use on their platform. The customer support ***resentative failed to disclose this is the way it would be returned. I asked the customer service *** 3 times how my refund would be returned. He answered YES, all 3 times. I asked would the amount of $61.05 be reversed and returned to my bank account since the credit was issued on the Task Rabbit end. He said, Yes. But instead, it was debited from my account, and the credit was given on their platform for a future service. The ***resentative never disclosed this was the way the refund/credit would be given. For the life of me, why would I allow Task Rabbit to burn me yet a 3rd time after I gave them a 2nd chance? No. I won't be using their platform in the future, nor will I recommend anyone to do so. The loop hold is Jalen C never booked even though he stated in his chat (***** *. for moving help) that he would accept the task. I got charged because I cancelled the task 24 hours before because I had to get another ******. I understand I cancelled the task, but the ****** violated his end and never scheduled the task like he stated. I am requesting that my credit be returned to my ORIGINAL form of payment (my debit card that is on file) I am not able to utilize the credit that has been applied to the Task Rabbit account because it is in my best interest that I should not and will not do any further business with Task Rabbit in the future.Business Response

I hired a service provider through TaskRabbit for a caulking job at my home in mid/late June 2025. Unfortunately, the quality of work delivered was extremely poor. The caulk was applied carelessly, resulting in visible smears and spills on other parts of the wall and adjacent surfaces, which now require additional cleanup and repair.Prior to the appointment, the ****** and I agreedvia text communication within the TaskRabbit appon the scope of the work and an estimated time frame. However, the task took significantly longer than what was initially discussed, with no justifiable reason provided.
