1 starThis complaint is about the Home Depot (HD) returns policy for the merchandise bought with a gift card (GC). I have run into a situation when HD is refusing to accept an unused, unopened return with a valid receipt due to this GC/store credit return policy. tems originally purchased with a GC are refunded in the form of a store credit that is then linked to an ID, and is no ***** transferable. Logically, if I pay for something with a GC and return it later, receiving it as store credit should function in the same capacity as the original GC. It's not. I learned of this when I recently went to return some items with a receipt that were originally bought on a GC and was declined the return. I was issued a Return Declined receipt that references The *************** (TRE), a third-party firm contracted by HD, that collects all returns data stemming from both the returns without the receipts and the returns from the store credit purchases. I am frustrated as this functionally limits my ability to purchase items at HD as I have accumulated GCs over time and prefer to use them over cash/credit at this time given that I already have them. The denial receipt also states that the use the use of the store credits may affect your ability to make merchandise returns, so avoid receiving and using the store credits when possible however I am not afforded the option to choose how to receive back my returns when I return with a gift card and store credits are significantly limiting my ability to purchase/return at HD as I am used to. Further, although the "ultimate decision to accept or deny a Transaction rests solely with the retailer, HD washes its hands and points the finger to the ****The Home Depot

1 starA Homedepot sale rep came to my home April 2022 took measurements of my kitchen cabinets and drawers for refacing we set down and went through a check list of the many options that home depot has available for refacing after completion of forms a finance application was filled out and a contract was signed. Then the sales rep tells me that the job will not begin till 3 to 4 month out. He assured me that I would not have to pay till the job was completed...We are now in October 2022 the job is till not completed and deficiancies not corrected and I will be expect to pay for a job that is yet not completed and corections not corrected this not acceptable ...I have called homedepot many times spoken to representative and yet no resolution. In the future Homedepot should send out an inspector to inspect workmanship before approving payment to these contractors..This has not been a pleasant experience...its been and on going headache.The Home Depot

1 starMake that a "0" star for Customer **********************, for no help and getting hung up on, their delivery service for delivering it to the wrong address and their 800 number for no help and also hanging up on us. We ordered a vanity for our bathroom. It was delivered several houses down from ours and their solution was for us to go get the 300 lb. vanity with sink, that's tied to a pallet ourselves after we paid several hundred dollars for it plus a fee for delivery and carrying it to a room of choice. How is it that we are asked to fix their and their delivery service's mistake? In the meantime there it sits outside at someone elses house for probably the entire weekend. Just so happens, it was delivered to an employee of Home Depot's house, so maybe, just maybe he'll be able to get something done for us. I have my doubts though.The Home Depot

1 stari rented a excavator from hilo home depot for one day,ad in internet said $349.00 a day on thurs 10/13/22 at 11:00 am,salesman let me buy insurance for the machine in case any issue will send mechanic to fix it,on fri 10/14/22 early in the morning some hydrloic hose got busted,i called home depot to send mechanic home depot answer we do not have mechanic until mon 10/24/22 salesman ask me if i can fix it there is extra hose under the seat of the excavator ,salesman assure me home depot will pay for my time and credit my account for any extra . i called my neighbor he is a mechanic charged me $100 to change hose after that i return machine to find out home depot want to charge double day i was late 4 hours before i return machaine. plus double insurance charges and give me me %10 discount for my time my bill instead of $468.00 came up to $752.00 their answer is that all the credit they can give??not accaptable from me i said,my charges should be one day rent $349 plus gaz $90 plus tax total $468.anything else should be void?????home depot keep me going in circle with no solution just wasting time,i talked to a few managers already,very bad customer **********************??The Home Depot

1 starIve been trying to get my washing machine (still under warranty) repaired for over two months. No one from Home Depot out their vendors has taken accountability for their lack of action. Ive literally not had a single service person come to my house. Home Depot needs to take accountability for their third party services.At this point they need to purchase a new washing machine for me.The Home Depot

1 starWe ordered a ** washer/dryer set from Home Depot over 6 weeks ago to be delivered and installed. This has been by far the worst customer experience ever. The washer/dryer has been scheduled to be delivered and installed 4 different times with no success. All 4 had confirmed delivery dates. 2 of the times the delivery people never showed up and never called us as we waited all day. Total NO SHOW. The 2 other times the delivery people never showed up and never called so we called them and found out that the delivery people damaged the washer/dryer during the move. This happened twice? Total BS. We have made numerous calls to Home Depot and they have no explanation to any of our scheduled deliveries and do not have a solution to our problem. They have now informed us that they will have to place another order with the ** distributor and the next delivery time will be in two weeks. Review is 0 stars.The Home Depot

1 starI Scheduled furnace duct cleaning with Home Depot Home Services. Received phone call for appointment and then received two follow *** making sure I was ready thinking these people are really on it. Took the day off work, changed schedules around , moved furniture and arranged for a dog sitter only to get a phone call at 9:30am saying they couldnt make it. After all that making sure I was ready, they werent . This is unacceptable. I wont be using any of their services in the future.The Home Depot

1 starI have made 16 online orders from Home Depot of the last 4 years. Every single order has arrived incomplete or damaged. This is not hyperbole, EVERY SINGLE ORDER has required remediation. The most recent delivery consisted of a gate kit shipped in four separate boxes. two of the boxes were delivered and the order was marked as complete on the online portal. Only after reaching out to Home Depot did the customer ********************** rep identify that the order was partially returned with no explanation or details included. My call was then transferred three times and landed with a local store manager who had no idea why I was transferred to him. This is a corporate wide systemic issue which continues year after year. If efforts are being made to address the issue, there is no manifestation of progress. Most frustrating of all is the inability to reach corporate level personnel to provide legitimate feedback.The Home Depot

1 starI ordered and paid $4000 dollars for 61 boxes of flooring. They had this flooring in the store but not enough for what I needed. After ordering I was never contacted or informed that the flooring had arrived. I was told on the purchase date that the flooring would be delivered to the store in about 9days. On the 11th day I went to pickup the flooring after my wife called and confirmed it was there. Once at the store employees could not locate the flooring i ordered. After more than 30 minutes of waiting I asked for a refund. I was told I would have to talk to a manager and upon speaking with him i was told home depot would have to charge 15% for a refund. They could not find the product I bought after more than 30 minutes of looking yet they refused to give me a full refund for what they said was a "special order" upon request. I was told by the manager he would look again even though i explained i had been waiting for a while and wanted a refund instead. The manager did end up locating the flooring. Definitely won't be back to another home depot and certainly don't want to hear "sorry" about this experience from home depot . I just wonder what's a "reasonable" amount of time one should be kept waiting while a product which was purchased is located and yet when it cant be located and a refund is requested, they refuse, and want to charge 15% for a product they cant find.Review fromTAS S

1 starPredatory and misleading practices - I bought a rug from Home Depot that was listed as 8ft by 8ft in the product name as well as in the product specs (exact dimensions: 8ft by 8ft). After receiving and rolling out the rug I thought it looked smaller than what I had measured. I measured the rug and it's actually 7ft 6in x 7ft 6in. I called Home Depot immediately and they told me they could not confirm whether the rug is meant to be 7ft 6in and their product description is wrong or if the rug I received was a defect. They said my only option would be to return the rug or keep the rug and get a 20% discount. I wanted to return the rug since it was not the item I bought and did not fit in my space as planned. Well, to return, Home Depot said I needed to repackage the product for *** pick up. I explained the item did not come in a box (was shipping wrapped in plastic only). Home Depot said it must be in a box. They said I had to go out and buy and 8ft box and package the item. Each time I spoke to someone, they gave slightly different answers with regards to policies and procedures. It's insanely predatory to falsely advertised products, not ship in proper packaging, and then put the onus on the customer to spend more more money to buy packing materials OR to offer a measly 20% off the keep the item, allowing Home Depot to collect 80% of the cost of falsely advertised items. Home Depot is aware of the issue and still has not corrected the product detail page. They also will not refund my purchase until I figure out a way to box and ship an 8ft rug, which Home Depot itself wasn't willing to do since it wasn't originally shipped in a box. I would never buy from them again and I would advise anyone else to be wary of product descriptions, specifically dimensions.
