1 starI am writing you in reference to todays experience with Home Depot Approximately 2 months ago I purchased a ceiling light from Home Depot and 1 of the sockets on the light is defective so I initially used the chat on your website to get the replacement but after explaining the issue the agent disconnected the chat. I then called customer ********************** and was disconnected twice and transferred to different reps. I finally explained the issue to customer ********************** rep ********** was the only person who actually tried to help me) who stated she needed the receipt I explained I no longer have the receipt because it was a while since purchase she claimed that if I paid with credit card the store could look it up I explained I usually use cash but the light has a 3 year warranty regardless so after going back and forth with her she reached out to the supplier. In the interim a manager ***** reached out to me who was just dismissive and combative. So ****** got back to me via email that the supplier could not send the part that to please have the customer exchange the unit in the store. So I called the Freeport ** store and spoke with the assistant manager **** who said it would be no problem just to bring my ID to exchange the defective light with a store credit and also that it was in stock. so I drive a half hour to the store wait in the returns line for twenty minutes then only to be denied a store credit something to do with my drivers license?!?!?!? and they could not provide an explanation. I asked to speak with **** the assistant manager and they would not get her. I spoke to a floor manager who was of no assistance. No explanation just that I could not exchange it. I even showed the email from ****** at customer care. I have never dealt with this level of incompetence in my life with a store and customer **********************. I want to file a complaint against this Freeport ** store and I want issue resolved as the light has a three year warranty. Case: ******** HDC/FlushMount lightThe Home Depot

1 starHome Depot has engaged in a number of abusive retail practices with regard to my most recent order, which had still had not shipped by one day prior to the projected delivery date and two different reps and a supervisor claimed that the reason for the delay was that **** had failed to pick the items up, which was a huge lie. I called the origin post office and they said there were no delays in picking up mail at any location in their area/region. I then called back and spoke with one additional supervisor at home Depot, advising them of what I had learned from the ****, and this supervisor finally admitted that the delay was due to the item being out of stock. The supervisor apologized for the misinformation provided by the three previous reps I had spoken to, and initiated a refund, which the rep said I should see that day. I still have not received the refund... I contacted Home Depot and they said that it takes 3-5 business days for a refund to be received, deceptively implying that the normal credit card processing times were the reason for the delay, but as I pressed them for an honest answer, they admitted that the 3-5 business days was their processing time, to which credit card processing times must be added... This practice is also abusive... They're basically holding my money hostage for even longer than they already have by lying repeatedly about the item's non-availability from the time I placed the order, through the telecoms with first three reps I spoke with, and now with the refund delay...The Home Depot

1 starI Purchased a dishwasher at Home Depot and paid to have it installed by Home Depot. One year later we found that our dishwasher had been installed incorrectly and had been leaking - filling our walls, back of cabinets, wood floors with Black Mold. We were out of our home for 9 months. I repeatedly tried to get help from Home Depot and the companies that had been subcontracted out to. ************* companies said they had No mold coverage. They would not help me. They would not pay for costs that was clearly and established to be their fault! I have a video of the ************* explaining that the dishwasher was installed incorrectly and the result of the leak. Instead of helping their customer- ************* companies just gave me the runaround. It is 5 yrs later and I have had to pay for an attorney to try and make me and my family whole. It is as if the insurance companies figure - if they dodge you- they will not have to pay for their negligence.Home Depot and ***** have the same attorney, *************************, who seems to keep giving us the runaround! How is it that buying a dishwasher from Home Depot could be so traumatic?How can Home Depot say they care about their customers and say the take pride in their customer ********************** when we are customers and have so wrongly been treated.The Home Depot

1 starI ordered a dishwasher from Home Depot and went through them to have it professionally installed. Seven months later the dishwasher tips forward. Whatever was done to anchor the dishwasher to the cabinet or counter did not last. When I called Home Depot they said they could not doing anything about it because a month had past. They suggested I contact GE (who had nothing to do with the dishwasher installation). The dishwasher itself is fine. It just needs to be anchored correctly. I don't think Home Depot should be allowed to broker installations of appliances. It takes the relationship away from the customer and installer. If I had the relationship with the installer (instead of Home Depot) then they would be out here to fix the situation at no charge. Now I have to go to GE and try to explain the situation and see what they can do. All customers should avoid going through Home Depot for an installation. Go direct. Home Depot will do nothing after one month. Most installations will at least warrant their work for 1 year.The Home Depot

1 starThe delivery people lied and said they tried to deliver my appliances. I told them I have a ring door camera and no one tried to deliver. All they can do is apologize and reschedule. So wasting 3 hours of my day waiting around for them means nothing. Id never buy anything that needs delivered again from Home DepotThe Home Depot

1 starI ordered a whole package of kitchen cabinets for a new house. Upon delivery half of the cabinets were severely damaged. I then reordered only to have them delivered damaged again. Now months later I'm still waiting to have my kitchen finished. Please don't waste your time and money , you will regret it!The Home Depot

1 starTerrible service. I had issues with the rental department not maintaining their tools so they were unable to provide working equipment for the one week rental that I needed. They then only reduced my weekly rate by a little since I used it for three days. Their lack of keeping the special consumables (that they provide with the rental) on hand for their grinder forced me to go elsewhere and spend more money on another rental so that I could complete my work. They don't help you load even when they see that you you loading a large order of over of over 200 pieces of lumber. Their online store ships the incorrect items and then they make you return all the incorrect items before starting a refund and make you reorder the items that were wrong. On a $2000 online order I received 75% of the items wrong cost me hours of my time correcting it, delayed the job by at least 2 weeks and all they can do is a 10% discount. Basically if you are a pro they are not the place to go.The Home Depot

1 starBrought a door back that didnt fit. Still in its casing. I couldnt find the receipt. I was denied a refund ** I paid with store credit and had no receipt. ******* said so many people coming in stealing they arent giving credits without receipt. I didnt want to take back home bc it was too large. She said no problem. Let me put a note on it and bring your receipt back tomorrow. I took 3 pics of it. Long story short receipt I had for the door showed it as a credit. Weird. Same cashier there tonight. I said impossible I had the door. She said door is gone and I was like what do you mean. Get a manager. Manager came over said there is no door. I said ***** said she was going to put a note on it. She bold face lied and said I didnt say that. My 12 yr old son was standing there. I said you are lying and he said to her she was lying. I said what a great ****** to teach a child. Saving her a** I guess. They ran w license and said denied I said give me my door no problem. They said there is no door. Fake manager bc she wasnt one she was a co worker said you can call corporate. Why bother. Liars cheats thieves. If you want something from Home Depot post COVID steal it. Thats the ****** Home Depot ************ ********* ** taught my 12 year old. If you are a hard worker do things right you get screwed by the big dogs. So disgusted. Will never step foot in the store again. Pathetic staff management etc. should be ashamed of themselves. Stabbing in parking lot stealing WOW CLASS ACT. maybe hire the right people. Not just people wanting to collect a check that dont care about anyone or anything but their paycheck and not getting getting stabbed or shot in parking lot.The Home Depot

2 starsI have purchased a TRANE HVAC System from Home Depot ****** (can't post on BBB ******) back in April 2022 valued of more than 21K and have reported issues with the equipment right after installation.Both Home Depot, Installer (A-plus), *************** and Trane *** have been formally notified and performed all kinds of tests that lead to a conclusion that there are no issues with my home but, rather, with the equipment. A reimbursement and equipment return have been requested.Hundreds of emails and phone call had been exchanged, mostly with HD - Resolutions Specialist - with NO conclusion.A formal complain with Customer Protection ******* today and legal action will be taken next week.Defective equipment is TRANE XC95 (furnace) XV19 (Heat Pump) , XL1050 (thermostat) , filter and condensation pump.---------------------The Home Depot
