When trying to log in to my account, I wasnt prompted to enter my password, instead, I was asked to verify a code sent to my old phone number, which I no longer have access to. Because of this, Ive completely lost access to my account.I tried calling customer service (despite the fact that theres a charge, which is frustrating in itself), only to find out that Yahoo doesnt even offer direct support in *******Ive been using Yahoo for decades, and Im extremely disappointed with how this situation has been handled. I sincerely hope theres a way to recover my account without needing access to that old phone number.

Yahoo crashed 7/24/25 and since then I have been unable to log in. My kids school info is in my mailbox as well as 25+ years of family history. NO customer support. If you call ********************** they want to charge for recovery and they are asking for information not related to the mailboxie Driver license etc. When trying to recover the recovery email is going to another country. Very suspicious.

Deserves 0 stars. For a company to actually think it's okay to charge money (of any amount) for customer support is absolutely absurd!! I can not get into my email because it won't send the verification email toy alternative email. What little customer support you get before you have to pay just runs you around in circles and is no help!! What's more absurd is the company has nothing but poor reviews and ratings yet they do nothing to improve. only thing I recommend is if you have a yahoo email switch it to another company!

Worst service, charging to access my email. $12.95 to gain access to my yahoo mail account is ridiculous.

I have been a customer of ********************** for over 20 years, and during that time, I have dealt with the ADs and multiple annoyances that this company has posed, because the one value that they provided was that I could access all my emails going back the full 20 years. As of this week, July 2025, they have changed their policy to limit email storage to 20 GB, which is half my current inbox. They are essentially holding my own information hostage, to force me to pay for a subscription. When I call to complain and to voice my concern, they tell me there is NO OFFICIAL METHOD TO COMPLAIN. No one should use yahoo anymore again, ever. This company should be shut down. I will be spending the next few weeks shifting all my emails to an alternate email provider that actually speaks to its customers. If I could use less than one star, I would.

As a long-time Yahoo Mail user, I feel compelled to share my experience with Yahoos current account recovery process, which I believe needs significant improvement.Recently, I attempted to regain access to my Yahoo account after losing access to the recovery phone number. Unfortunately, the system only allowed password reset via that outdated number, with no alternative recovery methods such as backup email, security questions, or identity verification via support unless I opted to pay for premium customer service. This creates a barrier to access that feels unreasonable, especially for a free email service.Yahoo does offer biometric verification (via government-issued ID and a live facial photo) as an alternative, but I found this process to be overly invasive and, ultimately, ineffective. Despite submitting clear and accurate information, the system failed to verify my identity. This raises concerns about both the accuracy of Yahoos verification tools and the security of the sensitive personal data (PII) being collected.Given Yahoos history of large-scale data breaches, transparency around how this sensitive information is stored and handled is especially important and currently ********** contrast to other major email providers that offer multiple, secure, and privacy-conscious recovery options, Yahoos process feels unnecessarily rigid and privacy-invasive. Moreover, requiring users to pay for basic access recovery undermines trust and user loyalty.I encourage ********************** to re-evaluate its account recovery process, offer more user-friendly alternatives, and improve transparency around data privacy. Email is a critical tool, and users deserve reliable, fair, and secure access to their accounts.

I have the same problem as ********* I have 2 step verification but with an old phone number and through an AOL but when I try giving the code to phone support through my AOL the second time my AOL doesn't show up as a recovery email my yahoo mail does. But Its telling me I have to give them the code before I can even use the paid support so with out a code I can't even talk with anyone. With all the complaints I have seen this is ridiculous even seen a couple of class action lawsuits against yahoo. Any one have any ideas how to get back into their yahoo account let us know. The sad part I'm not even able to speak with anyone on a paid support call

Hi , I'm stuck in a login loop. The automated recovery tool only offers to send a code to a phone number I no longer have, and it's not giving me any other options like a recovery email.
