Contrary to your claim, we believe that you or someone in your household with access to the payment information on file signed up with us. We obtained user data directly from your inputted information after visiting a Consignment shop site (exact website unknown) on 20Feb2025. Someone clicked on our cash back rebate ad and filled out a multi-field signup form which included entering payment information. The last item to be completed is an "I agree" checkbox that requires user interaction to be clicked in order for the subscription to be activated and gives consent and authorization for us to charge the account. Next to that checkbox are disclosures stating the price to be charged and outlining our terms with links provided to the full text details. We also sent a welcome confirmation to the email address on file immediately after the last step is completed confirming the purchase. This signup flow is very clearly identified as belonging to us. It's very difficult to sign up with us inadvertently, unknowingly or unaware that there will be monthly charges incurred. I noticed two charges from this business on my US Bank card..They used two different names USSHIPMENTSFREECOM ShipmentsFree.com I have never heard of , signed up for , could afford nor would ever need a service like this. I tried reaching out to the company but have had no feedback. My credit card has been charged $19 every month since September 2024. I did not sign up for this service and did not authorize anyone on my behalf to do so. I subscribed to ShipmentsFree in Dec. 2024 based on its advertised promise to reimburse up to $100/mo in shipping fees. My first claim was approved within 24 hours, leading me to believe it was an honest business. So, I paid to continue my subscription after the free trial ended. But once I became a paying customer on Dec. 16, its treatment of my claims changed drastically.On Jan. 1, 2025, I paid $29 CAD (***** GBP) in online shipping and submitted a claim with proof of purchase. Despite repeated follow-ups, ShipmentsFree delayed processing my claim, falsely assuring me an agent would contact me within 48 hours on at least four occasions starting Jan. 10. When it kept stonewalling, I started to suspect that ShipmentsFree was involved in a scheme to deliberately delay or deny approval of legitimate claims until after a new payment cycle began to maximize profit and deny users prompt reimbursement. As suspected, no one contacted me until Jan. 2010 days later and 4 days after my subscription was set to renew. The agent denied my claim because it was a foreign transaction but offered to make an exception and approve it if I provided more documentation. When I agreed, he changed his mind and cut off communication.Customer service has been abysmalagents ignored messages, failed to give updates, and even hung up on me. I demand payment of my $29 rebate or a full refund of my $25 subscription for three reasons:1.Detrimental reliance: ShipmentsFree had reimbursed a foreign transaction during my trial (Dec. 14), leading me to reasonably believe this claim would also be approved.2.Promissory estoppel: As ShipmentsFree approved shipping on a foreign transaction before, it should not now be allowed to deny my rebate on the basis that it was a foreign transaction. 3.Bad faith/anticipatory breach of contract: The companys repeated failures to act within promised timeframes show it never had any intention of approving my claim in the current billing cycle or at all.Business Response
