I just moved into a new house in ***** and needed a lot of stuff set up. I signed up for HelloTechs service and made an appointment for my 2 tvs to be set up. Their tech came out and he definitely struggled with the task. It took 2 days to complete a job that should have taken a couple of hours. He was a nice guy and finally did the job but it meant I had to stay home a second day while he did his job. I also needed my Ring alarm hooked up so since I had the membership I went ahead and set up another appointment to get this done. I came home early from work to meet the tech who never came. I got a message saying he was no longer available and as soon as they found someone that could do the job they would send them out. I got a call from one tech asking for pictures of what needed to be put up then he never showed up. This went on for over a week, they had someone , I left work to wait for them then at the last minute they cancelled. I finally called within the 30 day period to cancel and said this wasnt working out for me. It was very apparent that they did not have the techs available to do the jobs and since I already had the questionable experience with the guy who set up my tvs this wasnt going to work for so I needed to cancel my membership. The guy I talked to said he understood and apologize for not having anyone to help me and said it was cancelled. I even went online to to figure out how to cancel which is not easy to find on their site. I was checked my credit card bill today and saw they are still charging me $19.99 a month. After 45 minutes on the phone the person said I was finally canceled but I wasnt getting my money refunded. I told her I was told Im ***** I was canceled and she said although she could see I called, I never cancelled. I find this very shady business dealings. The guy in ***** said I was cancelled and I would no longer be charged. I want a refund for the months of May, June and July when I was supposed to be cancelled.Business Response

The request for a refund for the months of May, June, and July was denied because the amount you received in membership discounts is greater than the amount you have paid in membership fees. Typically, to cancel a membership, the amount in discounts would need to be paid in full, costing you an additional $120 at the time of the request.

I called hello tech when I could not get into my yahoo account. All they could suggest was to try and get in using goggle instead of ********* edge. I had great difficulty understanding the original person I spoke with. I thought I was agreeing with payment for a one time deal, Now they say they are reviewing the phone call in which I agreed to a one year membership costing 20 dollars a month. I am 80 years old and deaf. they insist they cannot cancel it I never received anything in writing from them and I cannot accessmy account.Business Response

Three years ago I had three TVS mounted paid for all Mounts and services along with a dvd player cordless they did a good job HERES where it went south for me for the past three years Ive been paying for a membership I never signed up for charging me 14. 99 a month 36 months well over ****** I am disabled concussions and now a tonic epileptic I try to trust BUT THIS COMPANY?? I have been paying $19.99 for this service since May of 2022. I just bought a new computer. At this time I do not need this service. I called to cancel my membership and was told I could not cancel do to a one year membership contract. My anniversary for this service was **** sense more than 30 days had elapsed from this anniversary date I could not cancel unit May of ****. I do not need this service and was unaware of a one year membership. It seems to me I should be able to cancel if this service is no longer needed.Business Response

In regards to Order #*******. I ordered this service without any knowledge that this company did not have the product. I have scheduled and rescheduled installation of the cameras 4 times because the company does not have the product. I tried to cancel the service and customer service said they don't have the option to cancel. I paid $250 already and I would like a refund because I am not able to get my product or installation with a reasonable time frame. I do not want to wait anymore.The issue with this company is they are selling a service that they cannot provide which is misleading and should be against the law. If you don't have the product, you should be required to tell the consumer you don't have it before purchasing and ylthe consumer should also have the ability to cancel and be refunded. I purchased a membership with HelloTech. I canceled it almost immediately. HelloTech had misspelled my email address and so the monthly bill and all issues with the account were being sent to the wrong email address. I kept being charged for services that were not being delivered to me.Business Response

I had an appt booked for 6/27/23 at 10am. I received text at 9:34am that my tech is on the way. Tech did not show. I called and had to re-schedule for 5pm. The same tech that was assigned to the morning was assigned to the afternoon job even though I was told he would be blocked. At 5:06pm I received an email stating the tech was on the way but the same tech never showed again and just marked the job as unserviceable. I had to call yet again and had to reschedule again and before the call was complete I was hung up on. I was also offered a 15% credit for my inconvenience for the morning appt but when I received an updated invoice it was a 15% increase!Business Response

I had a technician come to install a tv on Friday evening. He showed up an hour and a half late. He had two TVs to mount per the job request. He managed to hang one in a very sloppy and mismanaged fashion after about two hours. He then came down and managed to put 11 holes in our brand new wall before he was ready to have me help him lift the tv and hoist it on the mount. As he was attempting to put the securing s**** on the tv, the mount ripped out of the wall and the tv mount and tv fell. He did not assess the situation of the wall and did not realize he was only screwed into drywall and had not even hit a stud during the 11 attempts that he drilled into previously. As a result, the tv and mount landed on my foot and took a large chunk out of the top of my foot and managed to do serious drywall damage to my wall. I immediately called hello tech and was referred to their tier 2 damage claim department. Since then Ive had two emails (a sentence or two each) with no direction and no correspondence on how to get my wall back to normal and get this tv situation fixed. I am beyond frustrated that its been four days and not one person has called to explain how they can fix this or what kind of insurance coverage they have to handle this incredibly unfortunate situation. As a result, I have resorted to filling out a BBB complaint in hopes of obtaining their attention to settle this matter once and for all.Business Response

I signed up for this service for a year. I used it 2-3 times. Techs were nice, did the job. After a year, I noticed I was still paying a monthly fee so I went in to cancel. I was told I cant cancel. It auto renews for A YEAR! A month. I could understand, I dont want to be forced into another year of payments by small print. Shady business dealings. I bought a Ring monitor and tried to find someone help me to install it in April 2023, then I found HelloTech in ******* It asked me to signup for a membership to use the service and I did. However, after the job was done and I realized I don't need further services, I want to cancel my subscription. I called HelloTech and was told that they can't cancel it since it is an annual contract. There is no way I would know that for any subscription I have to pay it throughout a year and can't cancel! I can't accept the result, $19.99 a month is quite a lot money for me and I have to pay it until April ****! Please help me to cancel my subscription.
