I wanted to install a TV on my wall and used the service l it was great but made me commit into a 12 month contract at ***** a month and wont let me cancel or gave me no pre trial agreement. They gave me a number but wont let me talk to a live person.Business Response

I contacted Hello Tech on 7/25/2023 to cancel my *subscription* membership. I was told (to my surprise) that I am bound by a yearly contract for the duration of the term. This was NOT made clear to me at the time of my one time service request that I made via telephone.I was not offered any other resolution which is quite poor customer service. I am surprised that in the modern era of subscription services, this bait and switch tactic is still being employed.Business Response

I signed up for this service in June 22. I used it 2-3 times. Techs were nice, did the job. After several months I realized I was not using the service and tried to cancel. Despite there being a very robust online service in which you can sign up but you cannot cancel via the same method. Per their website I proceeded to chat with rep indicating I wanted to cancel. I was told I have to call. I tried calling couldnt get through. More time went by with charges. I was auto renewed. I called the next time and was given a email address. I sent a email on 4/23 which no one responded to and then was auto renewed again 6/23. I finally got through to an agent 7/24 who told me I couldnt cancel because my account was an annual plan. Which I disputed. I asked for documentation that I signed up for an auto renewing annual plan. I was told they have no record because it was a self directed sign up so they have no documentation. If they cannot produce something documenting I signed up for an annual plan then its my word against theres and they acknowledged they have on record all the times Ive tried to cancel. They will not refund me any monies Ive been charged and it clearly shows I havent used at all since 1st year. I dont want to be forced into another year of payments by small print. Shady business dealings. They made plenty of money off of me the first year. Buyer beware they are scamming consumers. I dont understand why they still have a good BBB rating with all these complaints indicating the same scam.Business Response

On 6/22/23 I order a *****'' ** mounting kit at $129.00 and install service for $110.00 before taxes. I was informed via email later within 12 hours that they were completely out of stock of mounting kits and was ask if I still wanted the service. I contacted hellotech via their website requesting a refund for the ** mounting kit but would still like install. explaining that I would buy the mounting kit from another location. They said they could do that and would issue a refund within **** business days.It has been over a month and the only refund I received was for 15 dollars last week. I have contacted them several times through there website, email and by phone only to receive the message that my issue is being heighten to immediate service response (or something along those lines); only to not hear back from them at all.Business Response

After reviewing your account, we see that a refund was processed for the mounting kit and made available on June 29th, 2023, for $54.13. A second refund was processed and made available on July 18th 2023, for $15.00. The total $69.13 refunded to you is the amount to cover the mounting kit. Let me further explain. The ** mounting service plus kit has a base price of $129. The $110 referenced was due to the size of the **, as it, in most cases, requires two people.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is unsatisfactory, but I will accept it. I will note that the issue was confusing because their was a surcharge for having a larger TV installed that cost more than the actual product I was disputing was not refunded. Once I thoroughly exam my bank statements to the receipt along with the business's explanation it made sense. The surcharge though is absurd as it is not like they sent an extra technician and I literally helped with the install.

I paid for a computer tuneup to improve website loading speeds and other low performance issues. This service has led to the default font on my computer being changed, and no noticeable improvement in performance. Not only that, but after submitting a one start review and requesting contact from Hello Tech, I was taken to a screen saying "We're glad (the tech) was able to resolve your issue." Then they asked me to review them on two other sites. I contacted chat and asked to be called by someone at the company, and they refused to pass on that message. My computer is now slightly less useable than when I began. The performance remains unchanged, and the font is very difficult one to read, and causes some eye strain.Business Response

I just moved into a new house in ***** and needed a lot of stuff set up. I signed up for HelloTechs service and made an appointment for my 2 tvs to be set up. Their tech came out and he definitely struggled with the task. It took 2 days to complete a job that should have taken a couple of hours. He was a nice guy and finally did the job but it meant I had to stay home a second day while he did his job. I also needed my Ring alarm hooked up so since I had the membership I went ahead and set up another appointment to get this done. I came home early from work to meet the tech who never came. I got a message saying he was no longer available and as soon as they found someone that could do the job they would send them out. I got a call from one tech asking for pictures of what needed to be put up then he never showed up. This went on for over a week, they had someone , I left work to wait for them then at the last minute they cancelled. I finally called within the 30 day period to cancel and said this wasnt working out for me. It was very apparent that they did not have the techs available to do the jobs and since I already had the questionable experience with the guy who set up my tvs this wasnt going to work for so I needed to cancel my membership. The guy I talked to said he understood and apologize for not having anyone to help me and said it was cancelled. I even went online to to figure out how to cancel which is not easy to find on their site. I was checked my credit card bill today and saw they are still charging me $19.99 a month. After 45 minutes on the phone the person said I was finally canceled but I wasnt getting my money refunded. I told her I was told Im ***** I was canceled and she said although she could see I called, I never cancelled. I find this very shady business dealings. The guy in ***** said I was cancelled and I would no longer be charged. I want a refund for the months of May, June and July when I was supposed to be cancelled.Business Response

I called hello tech when I could not get into my yahoo account. All they could suggest was to try and get in using goggle instead of ********* edge. I had great difficulty understanding the original person I spoke with. I thought I was agreeing with payment for a one time deal, Now they say they are reviewing the phone call in which I agreed to a one year membership costing 20 dollars a month. I am 80 years old and deaf. they insist they cannot cancel it I never received anything in writing from them and I cannot accessmy account.Business Response

I have been paying $19.99 for this service since May of 2022. I just bought a new computer. At this time I do not need this service. I called to cancel my membership and was told I could not cancel do to a one year membership contract. In regards to Order #*******. I ordered this service without any knowledge that this company did not have the product. I have scheduled and rescheduled installation of the cameras 4 times because the company does not have the product. I tried to cancel the service and customer service said they don't have the option to cancel. I paid $250 already and I would like a refund because I am not able to get my product or installation with a reasonable time frame. I do not want to wait anymore.The issue with this company is they are selling a service that they cannot provide which is misleading and should be against the law. If you don't have the product, you should be required to tell the consumer you don't have it before purchasing and ylthe consumer should also have the ability to cancel and be refunded.
