I signed up for Pinterest as an experiment, I just thought I was messing around with settings and tried to set a campaign for $1 per day. I dont have a job so I thought I could try it out. According to Pinterests terms however, my business website didnt meet their criteria to sell on Pinterest so I cancelled my test run out and went about my life. Until I randomly was charged ************************************************************************* again saw several charges pending my account. I reached out to Pinterest customer service as well as my rep who Ive never heard of, and was told I set them up so no refunds. And low and behold ANOTHER ***** has cleared my account today. However, as my account was deemed ineligible for sales, per Pinterest guidelines, its just robbery to steal someones money and try to blame the client for accidentally setting up their account incorrectly. Not only that but *** received nothing in the form of sales through Pinterest so the idea of paying them hundreds of dollars (there are more charges pending my rep refused to help with), is just theft. Ill be reporting this to my bank and hopefully will be able to stop the charges but I doubt Ill see a dime from this multimillion company that cant be bothered to provide even the smallest amount of customer service. This whole sales thing is a scam and I want all my money back and any pending charges cancelled.

The company is not taking responsibility for the fraudulent activities that are taking place on their platform. They push products onto your feed giving the impression that the items are there for you to purchase, at no time was I informed that there is scammers listing items for sale on the Pinterest platform. They give a platform for scammers to scam their users.

Pinterest Website-I am disturbed by Pinterests website requiring my actual birthdate. I offered my birth year. After refusing, they want me to reactivate through a "third party". I believe it's called Jumio. Who?? Are they seriously thinking any intelligent people are going to send the information they are asking for? Pinterest now wants your government id's, birth certificates, face recognition &/or additional private info sent to a third party!(??) I might as ********* my id's to someone on the street. Plus, I looked up ************ filed for BANKRUPTCY! The quote on the Pinterest website says this; "We don't require you to provide your real name, nor do we verify your name, age, or location". However, when I originally signed up years ago, I did give them this information. So, they already have it. Apparently, the information they are requiring has changed. I am in my 60's. My pins are of recipes for goodness sake, not some offensive material. I'm not looking up buying liquor, meds nor pot. My local police department stated to not give them any personal information. How can they ask for such high-security information? And, through a third party! Is that even legal? I can buy anything online with a credit card. I'm never asked for pictures of my government id's or birth certificates. This seems over the top to me & a slew of others.

During the month of ****** ********* deactivated my account. I sent a message to customer service concerning the matter and was told I would receive an email link to reinstate my account. I sent another customer service message when I did not receive the reinstatement email link. I received a response that did not address my notice of not receiving the email link. *********'s response was to repeat the same message I received after my initial contact. I sent two additional messages to customer service with no clear response or assistance on reactivating my account. I would like someone to assist me with the proper steps to reactivate my account.

Pinterest recently made it that they are requiring all accounts to have a birth date on file. They locked users, like myself, who are business owners and have a BUSINESS acct, out of Pinterest until adding a birth date. A business does not have a birth date. I business has an establishment date. Requiring business users to list their PERSONAL birth date to be able to access our BUSINESS accounts means listing PERSONAL information on what is otherwise a BUSINESS account. This puts an individual's PERSONAL information at risk. Additionally, once entering a birth date there was no information given as to how Pinterest would be using this; if it would be shared, used for solicitation, etc. The birth date is not shown in Settings on Pinterest. Their profile is more concerned with "pronouns", so we do not know if the date is edited at any ************ is also no way for a BUSINESS to confirm the date will held privately. The Privacy Policy at Pinterest says we are able to edit our account information at any time, but without access to the birth date, this is not true. When contacting Pinterest about this I was told that this is because "we wont allow anyone under 13 to create a Pinterest account per our Terms of Service". However, I've held a BUSINESS account for 10 years & have NEVER had to have a birth date on it until now. I don't know why, when we are a confirmed 501c3, that a birthdate is necessary. And as mentioned, there was no information disclosed when locked out of the account. Pinterest simply showed a screen demanding a birth date be entered or we could NOT access the app. Furthermore, someone could gain access to the data on Pinterest & then have the birth date for any user. This is not an absurd claim either has Pinterest has previously had MULTIPLE data breaches.

I am rejecting this response because:

Ive already submitted a ticket via their Pinterest support. That failed to resolve the matter. Thus my reasoning for filing the complaint with BBB. They will reply here accordingly. This matter is. ow to be on record. It is no longer acceptable for Pinterest to keep this hidden.

Pinterest made a demand that all accounts  now register a date of birth. A business does not have a date of birth. A business has a date of establishment. We were locked out of our accounts with no prior notice to this change. No change has been made to their privacy policy. We have no documentation of how Pinterest plans to use the date of birth. No information about Pinterests liability if there is a breach of site security, which has occurred in the past. I have had a business account for years and never had to register a date of birth prior to now. When I contacted your support about this matter I was dismissed. Thus, any further communication in regard to this matter will go through the BBB.

    Sincerely,

    Complaint: 19992956

I am rejecting this response because as documented by photos already submitted to BBB for this case, I have previously submitted a ticket to Pinterest support which was dismissed without response to the issue at hand; that Pinterest made a change to their requirements for an account, requiring a date of birth on a BUSINESS account, when a BUSINESS does NOT have a date of birth. A business has a date of establishment. Yet, users were LOCKED OUT of their accounts unless the demand was fulfilled. There was no information provided as to why this change was being made and nothing supplied about how the date of birth would be used and/or shared. No update was issued to the privacy policy.

Additionally, nowhere on the main Pinterest website is there anything showing the date of birth on record for Business account settings. See links referenced below. On the Pinterest app, the date of birth is shown under Settings - Personal information. This shows there is no consistency. Also, it is apparent that the date doesn't truly matter to Pinterest as our organization has supplied a date saying we are over 100 years old! See attached photos. So again, we ask why was this policy implemented and what relevance does it have to a business account?

Finally, this is the second time that Pinterest has tried to force this matter back to their support ticket system. Again, that will NOT be happening. This matter will be handled on neutral territory. Any communication regarding this matter will take place via BBB.

    Sincerely,

In early April 2023 I created an ad which I then promoted and was active. Normally Pinterest notifies me when the ad was rejected or approved but this time nothing happened. 4 days later there was still no word from Pinterest. I posted the exact same ad the exact same way but this time it was approved. When I asked Pinterest to explain what happened with my first ad they said I had to use a different method to advertise with them. They finally acknowledged however those are the same exact ads, the first one should have been originally approved or denied without 4 days elapsed. This was a Pinterest mistake. I have asked the for a billing discount on my next bill but they are stonewalling me. I advertised as I normally did but they cannot in good faith explain why they never informed me from the very beginning. I request a billing adjustment.

On March 23, 2023 A young woman made a video saying her entire Pinterest account was wrongfully suspended because Pinterest recently found out that adult men have been saving photos of little girls or messaging little girls with the intention of grooming them. Pinterest then began to close down or ban any account that has any girly girl or Pink aesthetic. On April 12th, my account was recently suspended and when I was trying to appeal that my account in no way was inappropriate and most of my broads are private outside of Fashion and Makeup. They have decided to permanently suspend my account and will not recite a reason. I know I didnt violate any community guidelines and Ive been wrongfully suspended and I need your help in getting contact with the Pinterest company. The image I uploaded also said that I requested a closure when I never did such a thing. Thank you for anything you can do.

My account was suspended on March 24, 2023 as a result of my error in entering my age. I have been a Pinterest user for over 5 years and am over the age of 13. I have filed 12 suspension appeals and have received the same automated response advising me that an email will be sent with a link to appeal. This email has not been sent to me to date. I have read every article online on how to appeal or to attempt to reach an actual person, to no avail.

On April 5th I went onto the Pinterest app to find that my account had completely disappeared. There was no error message telling me my account had been suspended or deactivated, and no emails from the company about my account. I tried to find my account on both the app and the computer site and had friends check to see if they could find my account in their following to no avail. I had been using my account on Pinterest everyday for the past five years, and all my work curating boards was just suddenly thrown away with no explanation. When I tried to file a complaint on their site, I got an email saying my account was suspended (despite not getting the typical error message) but when I tried to appeal the suspension, I got another email telling me that my account was not suspended. I filed many more complaints, most I got no response too, or the same automated response telling me that my account was suspended, which is clearly not the case. I had absolutely no way of getting into contact with a real person at Pinterest, and I felt it was almost like they wanted as little dialogue with their users as possible. I just want my account back, and for Pinterest to update their essentially nonexistent customer service to actually be helpful.
