Hi, I run a lifestyle site, nikkilo.com, and I use Pinterest to drive traffic to my website. My Pinterest account was recently mistakenly flagged by Pinterests spam filter. I know this because overnight, my Pinterest impressions inexplicably dropped from 139k on 1/19 to 6.4k on the 20th and have remained low ever since. My content is also invisible to other Pinterest users, which Ive verified by checking with my other Pinterest accounts. *** reached out to Pinterest support numerous times. Every time, I get an automated response telling me ebbs and flows in Pinterest impressions are normal and to follow Pinterests best practices. The email also tells me straight out that I have not been flagged by the spam filter, which is a blatant lie. Im also very careful to follow Pinterests anti-spam guidelines to make sure my content complies. The one time I reached an actual human Pinterest representative, I described my problem and they said they were transferring me to the appropriate team. Then I got the same automated response. I am a college student and I rely on my website to help pay for my expenses, so the drop in traffic from Pinterest has severely impacted my finances and ability to save for post graduation this spring. I would appreciate any help. ***************Initial Complaint

Hello dear bbb, my Pinterest account got permanently suspended saying that i pinned adult content, and its not true. I tried appealing a lot of times to this ban on their website, but they always sent me an automatic answer on my Gmail saying that my account got permanently suspended. Those answer are automatic and I think thats unfair. I saw on the Internet that a lot of other Pinterest users has the same problem. I have thousands of important things and its my most important app. I would really appreciate if you could send this complaint to the Pinterest team so that they could reactivate my account. My name on Pinterest is sMy email is ********************* Thank you for your time and attentionInitial Complaint

Dear Better Business Bureau,I hope this email finds you well. I am writing to bring to your attention a concerning and persistent issue I have been facing with Pinterest Support over the past three years.I have been diligently reaching out to Pinterest Support annually to request the deletion of two profiles under my name that appear prominently on ******* Despite my continued efforts, I have not received any response from Pinterest Support, creating a frustrating and seemingly purposeful lack of communication. These profiles were created when I was a minor, and I no longer have access to the associated accounts. I have provided ample proof of ownership, and yet Pinterest has consistently refused to acknowledge my requests for deletion. It appears that Pinterest has implemented a system that effectively prevents users from receiving any meaningful response, leading to a sense of helplessness and frustration on my part. This situation has not only impacted my online presence but also raises concerns about the security and privacy of user information on the platform.I kindly request your assistance in addressing this matter and ensuring that Pinterest takes prompt action to delete the mentioned profiles. I believe that as a user, I have the right to control my online identity and that Pinterest has a responsibility to respond to legitimate requests for account removal.Thank you for your attention to this matter, and I trust that the Better Business Bureau will be able to help resolve this ongoing issue.Initial Complaint

I am writing to file a formal complaint against Pinterest for the suspension of my account. This action has caused significant disruption to my business and personal distress, as my website heavily relies on the traffic generated from Pinterest.Firstly, it is important to note that my account was suspended without any prior warning or clear explanation of the violation. This lack of communication is deeply concerning, especially since I am confident that I have not engaged in any activities that breach Pinterest's terms of service. The sudden and unexplained suspension not only affects my business operations but also tarnishes my reputation.Previously, my account has functioned without any issues, adhering strictly to the platform's guidelines. The abrupt suspension, therefore, comes as a shock and seems unjustified. My website's increased traffic from Pinterest should not be a reason for penalization, particularly when no wrongful actions have been committed on my part. Moreover, this is the first instance of such an occurrence. If there were concerns about my account's activities, I would have expected at least a warning or an opportunity to rectify any perceived issues. The lack of such an opportunity further exacerbates the situation, making it feel unfair and arbitrary. In light of the above, I am seeking the BBB's assistance in resolving this matter. I request a thorough investigation into the suspension of my account and a clear explanation of the reasons behind it. Furthermore, I urge Pinterest to reconsider their decision and reactivate my account promptly.Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to a resolution that upholds fairness and transparency.Sincerely,[*****************]My suspended Pinterest accounts name : dress to impress Email. *********************Initial Complaint

I recently discovered a pinterest account using my name and a unique profile picture thats been a ******** profile picture for a while and in my photos for over 13 years in my ******** account. I haven't googled myself in a very long time so i have no idea how long this pinterest account existed. I contacted pinterest and was given a partial email I didn't recognize. Asking questions about the account to try to understand how and when this happened to understand my risk i kept getting told by the pinterest person that they could only help someone whose email matched the one on the account and couldn't reveal personal information. I kept repeating that i didnt care about the fake account owners personal information and that isnt what i am asking for. I said I could prove the info was stolen from my ******** account and was told if my email isn't on the account I can't be helped. So yeah how is that going to work. I found out there is an impersonation choice in the help center, perhaps a separate group of competent people. but was never offered to be connected to them. After giving up with this person who is either poorly trained or intentionally playing I tried to upload my proof (which they require) to the impersonation group, but I am now blocked for trying to protect my identity. So yeah pinterest really doesn't care about fake accounts and potential scams in spite of what they say. This is the worst customer service I have ever encountered.Initial Complaint

This is the second time in less than 2 months I've had to complain to Pinterest. I started a business account with them. They had promotion for 60 dollar credit if you spend 10 dollars on ads. I filled out the info and only authorized 10 dollars. The payment didn't seem to go through. I gave it time thinking maybe it needed to process. A couple days later I check and my account is deactivated. I speak with their team. My identity needed verification before my ad could processed but why the he** would my account need to be deactivated for that to be done? Stupid. They reactivated my account but it looks duplicated and it only processed 5 dollars for the ad campaign and the 60 dollar coupon mysteriously vanished from the duplicate account and is still on the other one. I sent them a ticket BEFORE CHRISTMAS about this issue and nobody has responded back and now there is an additional 30 dollars charge which I did not authorize. I will report Pinterest for THEFT. Apply the **** coupon and remove the charge because ** had no business duplicating my account to begin with and this all seems like a shady scam to s**** people out of their money. If you have a business, DO NOT take a chance with Pinterest. They could ruin your life with their garbage customer service and their complete disregard for people's money and time. Stay away.Initial Complaint

My daughter, who is 16 years old, set up a business account with Pinterest without our knowledge She connected it to her teen checking account and was promptly billed $93 for what they called advertising on the platform. She noticed the charge and removed her billing information from her account. She was then charged a week later another $54 for the same type of advertising. This was after receiving an email, from Pinterest, saying her account had been disabled and closed after the $93 charge. She should not have been able to open a business account or sign any legal documentation saying she was liable due to her age. This is most likely happening across America with teenagers, thinking they can get rich fast opening a business account on Pinterest. There is no phone number to contact Pinterest. There is only web portal to complain, which takes 1 to 3 business days to get back. This in my opinion needs to go to a lawyer to start a class action lawsuit. There has to be thousands of kids that are taking advantage of with the system most of them probably not even able to read the terms and conditions that they agreed to. Thank you.Initial Complaint

Pinterest charged my MINOR (*********************) aged Son almost $300 for a "free trial" period. He was 17 and not authorized for signing contracts for ANY COMMERCE, PERIOD. I have notified Pinterest via US Mail and email (this organization try's really hard to avoid being contacted! No phone number to reach a customer service to assist and most emails are dead ends. As a 36 year owner of businesses I find Pinterest conduct to be very deceptive and predatory to minors who do not understand what they are signing up for and the word "free" is also unconscionable behavior. I demand all of my sons money reimbursed - all $289. If I need to file a civil lawsuit, we can add attorney fees, expenses and my lost professional time income, plus cause of action damages.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:They still have not refunded my Minor Child's money. It is a simple solution for an unjust theft of my sons money. They have until next week before I get my very successful FDCPA attorney on this case. I am tired of greedy, selfish operations like Pinterest who take unauthorized money out of unsavy consumers accounts and they act as if they are reputable. I will get the money back plus legal fees, expenses and a bill for my time. In the meantime I will be on a mission to warn others of this unfair company.
Sincerely,
