    I am seeking to have Nextdoor delete my account and data, and stop sharing my information with any other entities. There is no easy way to delete the account and information without Nextdoor employees assistance and their help contact requires the individual to log into the account. I requested to have my account deactivated as a temporary measure, but actually want it deleted because I realized the my privacy is being compromised and the continued posting of my content endangers the privacy and safety of my family. I do not want to reactivate my account or log into Nextdoor in order to have my account information and data removed.

    I am rejecting this response because:

    The business made it extremely difficult to submit through another means when they already have my written request that was forwarded by the BBB. Upon receiving a second request through their convoluted process, the business refuses to delete my information and plans to retain it indefinitely. The stated reason deals with a prior account suspension for not complying with their so called "community guidelines" that were never established by the actual community and are arbitrarily enforced.  They company also cited their desire to protect the company business interest. The company cannot guarantee the protection of the data on their systems and their retention on my personal data for a indefinite period continues to put me a risk to privacy violations from their employees and security risks to online data. I also requested that they cease sharing my information with any other entities such as marketing firms and they did not answer that portion of my request.

    I received a unsolicited marketing email from NextDoor.com trying to get me to create a page on their website for a company I am not a part of (but share a last name with). However, this was not what I took issue with (although it was a little annoying). When I scrolled down to find the unsubscribe from email notifications button I saw the follow statement: You received this email as a registered user of **********************. After checking I found 3 more emails from NextDoor in my inbox (all with the same statement that I am a registered user). I am not a registered user of **********************. Seeing that I am receiving these marketing emails under the false pretense that I have an account made me more angry than it should have so I came here. This is a dishonest business marketing practice if not false/mis-advertising. I do not plan to take legal action (or know if I would even have a good case), but if this information falls in the hands of someone who wants to take legal action I wouldnt have a problem with it. Regardless I hope NextDoor.com experiences the full power of the Better Business Bureau.

    We signed up for some ads many months ago and did not see results so we stopped the ads, however we were being charged almost daily for $1 here and there so we had to get our credit card company involved as there was not phone number available to call Nextdoor. After they got involved we were contacted by Nextdoor that all ads have been stopped and we would no longer get billed. Today we received a charge for $93 which we have disputed through and email with Nextdoor and also let our credit card company know so they flagged the charge. We have not started any new ads or asked to have our account re-opened so this was initiated by Nextdoor without our authorization. My biggest concern with Nextdoor is they not easy to contact for help so we depend on our credit card company for assistance. As of now this new $93 charge has not been credited or resolved.

    On July 6, 2023 I made a post on Nextdoor.com in ******, ** regarding a a potentially hazardous/dangerous situation to local residents. The post, ~'a person (male?) was driving a pick up truck in a congested area with speed limits of 50+ mph with three untethered dogs in the bed of the truck.'~ I felt this was very dangerous for the dogs and could potentially cause an accident with other drivers so I wanted to alert my neighbors. Nextdoor disabled my account for 15 days using the guideline of "be respectful to your neighbors". How is this not respectful? Nextdoor has completely blocked my account. I cannot contact anyone, leads, mods, admins or Customer Support for help or information. This process seems very unfair.

    My Nextdoor account was disabled for 15 days for allegedly violating the guideline Be respectful to your neighbors.


    I was made to believe it was for a comment I posted warning my neighbors about an unsafe driver with dogs in the bed of his pickup.


    When I tried to get clarification or appeal the decision, I was unable to contact anyone. Not leads, the review team, administrators or even Nextdoor customer support. I was completely blocked. I had no way to access my account or even see what comment *** have caused my account to be disabled. I also believe my account *** have been disabled in error.


    The only way I knew what comment my account was disabled for was to file a BBB complaint.


    Nextdoors website has instructions on how to view and contact your leads and review team but this function does not work. Nextdoors website also has instructions for viewing your activity. This function does not work either.


    The comment  your lame attempts trying to explain what you think someone else said is pathetic. "I have no doubt that almost everyone on this platform can surmise that glaring reality"?? How would you know this? Mind your own business and stay out of others conversations, was allegedly the comment that resulted in disabling my account, but I have been unable to find it.
    I am requesting that Nextdoor provide me with the day, date and time of 
    this comment.


    This is no way to run a business. If a company accuses you of breaking an established rule, then they should be made to provide you with the details.

    I am rejecting this response because: the NextDoor staff was dishonest regarding the reason my account was disabled. There is no way to contact any leads, reviewers or admins even though the NextDoor.com site claims these functions are available. NextDoor should be more transparent in its actions and most of all treat everyone fairly.

    Nextdoor contacted me in June saying that I needed to prove my identity. They did not provide a reason, any details, or a secure encryted manner in which to send this information. They requested extremely personal information that no other website or app has ever asked me for. They wanted me to submit a copy of my passport and birth certificate. When I reached out multiple times to inquire about why. I was repeatedly ignored and each time they continued to demand this information. I believe that Nextdoor.com *** had malicious intent and was trying to attempt to collect my information without adequate reason. If no other website or app needed this information, why did Nextdoor.com *** demand this information from me? After responding to multiple automated emails who claimed to be real people I gave up when my questions and demands were ignored. Nextdoor never made an effort to resolve the issue and only offered me the option to delete my account or submit ***** information they requested. After many attempts, I finally decided to delete my account after I exacerbated my attwmots to meaningfully communicate with this business. I have retained all copies of the email correspondences that I had with this app. Nextdoor should have answered my questions instead of ignoring me and repeatedly asking me for these two specific documents. I find it very suspicious that an entity would demand that I prove to them who I am without first proving who they are. They just want me to anonymously send them my extremely provate information without knowing who I am sending it to. I should be able to know exactly who I am sending it to i. The event that information is mishandled. I should be able to hold someone accountable. Nextdoor refused to answer my initial questions and I was unable to acertain any important information as to how was my information going to handled, secured, stored, and maintained. I was ignored, disrespected, and made to feel as if I had no rights. I demand explan

    It is a generic automated response with no valueable information, it is the same automatedbresponse I have been dealing with that created this problem in the first place. Once again, I am ignored. If it is required, I would be able to screenshot all my emails of the many automated responses that have ignored my concerns as a customer and which have never addressed the big problems which I stated in my original complaint.

    I was removed from this site without being given any reason prior, and having done nor said anything offensive. I was intimidated by a member who clearly abused her authority and ***** nilly kicked people off she did not like.......me being one for which I enter this complaint. I tried contacting headquarters first on several occasions to no avail. I was in the middle of communicating with someone who was going to donate his extra TV to me since mine broke and I'm a disabled senior. Another person was donating a pet/baby gate for my helper dog. Both these items are certainly lost now.

    The neighbor shared an inflammatory clip which was removed from the website. Only Nextdoor Support can suspend neighbors, so it wasn't because of another neighbor. We don't have to warn neighbors who violate the Nextdoor Guidelines before taking action.

    I am rejecting this response because:
    I had continually emailed ************* to address the improper action on their part. I posted a link to the news only. I am a disabled senior and the action of nextdoor violated not only my First Amendment rights, they deprived me of communication I was having with other members. A member offered to give me his extra TV he was no longer using since mine broke. This communication is now lost. I said/did nothing inflammatory. I see members disrespecting the local police - is that not inflammatory? Posting hate, or discrimination based upon age, disability, religion, race, or *** is a federal violation. I am a senior, disabled and was discriminated against in violation of federal laws. This issue is not resolved.  Further, if Nextdoor states the news is inflammatory there is something intrinsically wrong. I request their complete mailing address, CEO, Pres, etc and the name of the people within Nextdoor who (1) accepts process of service, and (2) the name of theFOIL officer ( record access officer). Again, their answer does not suffice.

    I was invited to the next-door app someone that is claiming to be me. They are claiming to be me. They are trying g to steal my identity, i have tried to get support thru the next door website and they won't offer any help or resolve the problem. I would like to report this business because they are allowing someone to steal my identity.

    My problem is that I un-subscribed from this service ad they keep sending me emails. I have unsubscribed from the emails at least 20 times and they still send them.I'm not sure if they decide not to listen, but this service is horrible. There are some good things, but they most ugly of Americans show up and it's amazing how stupid they act.Can't stand being a part of this sh --t show.PLEASE STOP SENDING ME EMAILS. LEAVE ME ALONE!

    Complaint is against Nextdoor.com, purportedly a "social media" site. There have been many complaints from other "Users". My complaint is that I've been suspended "indefinitely" (which I believe means forever) for simply trying to warn other Users about a technical glitch. The glitch was apparently fixed, but the day after I was banned for referring to "moderation issues" online. No warning, no admonition, no effort to contact me in any way. The company treats most if not all of its Users as if they were dangerous children and is socially irresponsible. I hate the site and its administration, but it's basically what there is. I spent many years posting very responsibly, helping others, including making cash donations, warning of road hazards, etc. None of this counts, and I've heard from others that Nextdoor is trying to purge its site of unwelcome contributors. There's much more to say, 100% of it negative, but I hope this is sufficient.
