We have a professional troll who likes to harass others and check on their professional licenses etc. and blast that all over Nextdoor. I recently responded to this post with steps that the victims of his abuse could take if he continued. Shortly thereafter, my account was suspended for failing to use my real name. My real name is being used as a display name on Nextdoorhow anyone would be able to determine otherwise given this is my legal name has yet to be explained to me. As such I find that the issuance of a violation/suspension has gone beyond the authority of moderators and I have nothing to prove to them unless they can show me how they came to the conclusion that I am not using my real name on the site. As such my account should be reinstated immediately and the moderators told not bother me with such asinine and juvenile antics again.Business Response

I was indefinitely suspended from the NEXDOOR app for saying that the United States legal definition of certain people from other countries was ILLEGAL ALIEN and not Undocumented. Thats all. Thats it. Thanks.Business Response

I canceled their service this past July, and received an email confirming same. I was continually charged $155 on my credit card, which I showed my bank proof and they disputed and removed the charges. They charged me $155 again in September, I again disputed the charge and cancelled the card, getting a new account number. They did this AGAIN in October, and this time I had to completely cancel the entire card. How did they get my new card number? I cant get into their site because my account with them is CANCELED, yet they continue to take money every month. By canceling my credit card, I was told my credit rating will take a hit. This is not only unfair, and annoying but sounds like its totally illegal. I am so upset about this never ending attempts to steal my money!!!Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:This company despite emailing me every month with a bill and continuously ignoring my responses to honor the cancellation of the account (which I have acknowledgment from them via email on 7/9/25) and charging my credit card four months in a row for $155 each time, responds to my BBB complaint stating they do not have my email on file???!! It's infuriating that they can be either this incompetent or this dishonest or both.
I responded to their link provided with a copy of the correspondence from them 7/9/25, their other emails with me repeatedly trying to cancel the account, and a credit charge receipt of one of the charges. I could have provided more but they only permitted 5 attachments.
I'm beyond annoyed and frustrated at this company's horrible customer service and fraudulent practices of unauthorized charges only to complain to BBB so they can pretend I don't exist?!

I have emailed nextdoor support 5 times about a known scammer handyman doing "business" on the nextdoor app. I have sent then countless stories about how this person has scammed lots of people on the app since 2020. All I'm asking is the person be removed from the app so other people won't fall victim to this person. They have only responded with they couldn't find the person on the app even though I've sent full name, business name, phone number and address. My last two emails have had no response. They are knowingly and willingly to continue to let this person scam people on the app.Business Response

I simply want a list of all advertisers for Nextdoor in the state of ***** so I can safely inform them that Nextdoor Moderation supports violent rhetoric and harmful speech of public figures. They also allow community moderators to defend such acts with complete impunity.Business Response

This interaction occurred over several months, from 8/13/25 to 9/14/25 was the latest response before they stopped replying to me. Nextdoor immediately suspended my account with no warning before I was able to use their service that I was invited to. I contacted their support to ask the reason behind the suspension and how to remedy it. Their support refused to provide a reason for the suspension and proceeded to ask to transmit very sensitive personal information. I told them I was not comfortable with this especially since they refused to provide any reason for the suspension. I followed up in September to try again and they refused to respond. Next door suspended indefinity my account for suspicious activity . All I did was try to get my yard mowed and answer and send DMs for that purpose they could easily check that and choose not to do that. . Their customer contact is like chatting with a computer program. There is a script that is followed with no deviation from the script. I wanted to get my yard mowed did something that triggered an alert , they wont even tell me what I did. They are looking for confirmation that I am who I say I am I offered to text ID ,Their answer was they don't have a phone number I can text. . I have used ******* for years without a problem, that would be easy to check yet they choose not to. I have had the same land line for over 20 years, owned my house for over 50 years, that would be easy to check if they wanted to. I feel that they discriminating against the elderly as I have told them I am in my 70s in poor health . Being disabled and housebound I use Next-Door for many services . Per their own guidlines they review accounts past history, it would appear they chose not to do so. I have never had any suspensions or warnings of any kind. I sent them all I could to prove I am who I am at the address I say I am at , the issue still not resolved.Business Response

On Oct 16, several of my comments were removed from the Next Door app, which were both relevant to the thread posted and factual in nature. However, a community moderator exercised their own bias and discrimination in blocking these comments. Furthermore, she posted misinformation that is both harmful and dangerous to Palestinians who are currently experiencing a genocide. I reported those comments, and my reports went ignored by other moderators. This is a serious violation of 18 U.S. Code 35 - Imparting or conveying false information, as the poster knows this information to be false (publicly available news which was also provided to her), and her false posts may result in violence against Palestinians.Business Response

I am submitting this complaint regarding the Nextdoor social media platform, and its lack of accountability in preventing or addressing false, defamatory, and slanderous statements made against a local business.Recently, a verified Nextdoor moderator authored and allowed posts containing false, misleading, and defamatory statements about my husbands licensed business and professional reputation. These statements were not only untrue, but damaging to our livelihood and credibility within our community.Despite providing documentation and proof that directly refuted the false claims, including written agreements, text confirmations, and photographic evidence, Nextdoor has allowed this content to remain active. As a result, it continues to harm our small business reputation and mislead community ********** is particularly concerning that this conduct is coming from someone designated as a Nextdoor moderator, who should be upholding community guidelines and ensuring fair, factual discourse, not engaging in or allowing slanderous behavior.Nextdoors inaction demonstrates a lack of responsibility in managing and reviewing user-generated content, especially when that content clearly violates their own community standards and terms of service regarding harassment, misinformation, and defamation.I respectfully request that the Better Business Bureau investigate this matter, and encourage Nextdoor to implement stronger oversight and response procedures when users, especially moderators, misuse the platform to harm others through false statements.Thank you for your attention to this matter. As long as the review is about personal experience of the service and not a personal attack on the person who did the service, the review can stay up. The business can reply to the post with their side of the story and if they aren't in the actual neighborhood, they can ask previous customers to add comments that may add context.
But we don't remove negative business reviews just because they are negative.

I am rejecting this response because:Thank you for your response. Id like to clarify that this situation is not a standard negative business review. The post in question is a personal attack directed at my husband by name, containing false, defamatory, and slanderous statements that have caused harm to his personal and professional reputation.
The author did not post on our verified business page, nor did she provide an objective review of services. Instead, she used our neighborhood platform to attack a private individual, which is a clear violation of ******************* Guidelines that prohibit personal attacks, harassment, or defamation against neighbors.
Because this content targets an individual and not the business itself, it does not qualify as a personal experience review and should not remain active under that policy.
We are therefore formally requesting the immediate removal of this post. If this matter is not resolved promptly, we will be forced to pursue legal action to protect our rights and reputation.

Neighbors can post about their experience with someone they hired for a service. They can give negative business reviews based on that service. If they personally attack individuals, those comments should be reported as violations of the guidelines. I am rejecting this response because:Thank you for your response. I would like to clarify that the post in question is not simply a negative business review. The author made false, defamatory statements and personal attacks, which violate ******************* guidelines. This goes beyond reviewing a service and instead targets individuals by spreading misinformation and slander.
Additionally, I previously received written communication from Nextdoor stating that the authors comments did not comply with community guidelines. I have already submitted that email in my prior message, yet it has not been addressed. Because your own team identified that the guidelines were violated, I am asking that Nextdoor enforce its policies consistently.
I respectfully request that Nextdoor:
Ask the author to remove the post and comments that violate guidelines, and
Review the situation given that the author is part of the review team, which raises concern that she may be using her position to influence the handling of this report.
This situation involves false information, personal attacks, and the misuse of platform authority. For these reasons, I am asking for the post to be removed in alignment with your previously communicated findings.
