I have repeatedly checked the unsubscribe designation from all the emails I receive from Next Door and they continue to send emails regarding their services! The Help page to which I am directed does NOT offer the option to unsubscribe from all services nor does the phone number listed for ***************** They are very misleading and offer no assistance in removing me from ALL emails and notifications. I want off! I actually did not, in my opinion, officially ever join this service. I have requested to unsubscribe from emails from this company countless times over the years. I have contacted them via the website, email, and social media and never receive confirmation that I have been unsubscribed. Instead I'm bombarded with ***** emails of useless information pertaining to neighborhoods in cities that I don't even live in every single day. I have also requested to reset my password so that I can log in to my account and delete it but again, I receive no response. The only way to contact the helpdesk is via an online contact form that times out when you submit the request. There does not seem to be any viable way to get in contact with anyone who works for NextDoor. This app allows individuals to post any video of individuals, even if they are not doing anything wrong but will say they are OR that they are up to no good. There are comments that are stirring up racial issues, and can really put people in bad situations even if they are not doing anything wrong. I made comments that were not negative, but telling a family member of the person in the video to tell them to be careful in how they do things, due to people's perceptions. I had a response from one individual make statements that "if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck then it's a duck, he's doing something wrong. Look at his hair and how he is dressed". This is in regards to a CHILD. Discrimination should NOT be allowed in this platform.Business Response

I bought a one month ad for my business for $155 back in late July to early August that would end in early September. They kept taking $155 out of my checking account and only allowed me to cancel through their complicated on-line Help pages. They don't have a customer service number to call. So, I followed their on-line instructions and it didn't show any active ads, as it doesn't now. But I keep getting $155 deducted from my debit card every month, w/the latest happening today. I called their corporate number **************, and left a message; I also sent them an email to the ****************** address they gave me on an answering machine, and it was returned as an "Error Account." Although this Complaint makes reference to racial discrimination, it is intended to address a merchant falsely advertising itself as being opposed to "racism" in the traditional sense of the word (opposition to the Confederacy), when in practice the merchant actually actively supports "racism" as defined by Confederate sympathizers (opposition to the revival of the Confederacy). Whenever Confederate sympathizers at NextDoor are inventive enough in their attacks against minorities to refrain from using language identified in NextDoor's guidelines as "racist" and are subsequently confronted over their abusive behavior, NextDoor penalizes the respondents for engaging in "racism" -- as defined by the Confederate sympathizers -- based solely on the attackers' protestations that their attacks are legitimate grievances and not based on "race". This has the effect of rendering NextDoor complicit in the efforts of Confederate sympathizers to revive the Confederacy within any Region in the country where there is a concerted effort to do so, in contrast to the merchant's claims to the contrary. In the latest effort by NextDoor to censure me for confronting the abuse of Confederate sympathizers in Middle Georgia -- a Region whose denizens are mostly of Africa-descent -- the merchant disallowed my most recent post on the subject for somehow being "non-local topic", as the merchant has consistently done over the past several years, while Confederate sympathizers have seized on the disproportionate impact Covid-19 has had on minorities to relentlessly attack them at every possible opportunity, often using NextDoor as a platform for it.If the merchant is going to allow that certain types of attacks against its patrons can constitute legitimate grievances, then the merchant must either refrain from operating in Regions in the country where there is a concerted effort to revive the Confederacy or cease to advertise itself as opposed to "racism" in the traditional sense of the word.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:A response to a BBB Complaint that directs the Complainant to reach out to the business directly can only be disingenuous, since a Complaint filed with the BBB presumes that there is no effective way to address whatever issue is raised in the Complaint without the mediation of a third party. More to the point, since this issue involves poor moderation on the part of the merchant's team of local moderators and/or administrators arising from willful regional bias, it is difficult to imagine any circumstance in which direct communication with them regarding the issue would be productive in any way. Unfortunately, the disingenuous response of the merchant tends to confirm my suspicion that NextDoor itself is a closeted Confederate sympathizer (as opposed to local Confederate sympathizers hijacking the service by exploiting NextDoor's process for selecting moderators and administrators locally to ensure that said selections are made from among their own numbers) that needs to advertise itself accordingly and cease pretending to be opposed to "racism" in the traditional sense of the word (the policies and practices of the Confederacy) as opposed to "racism" as defined by Confederate sympathizers (opposition to the Confederacy's policies and practices). Sadly, NextDoor is the latest in a long line of merchants to exploit the policy adopted by the Bureau in recent years to treat any response -- no matter how disingenuous -- as a legitimate effort to address a Complainant's concerns.

I am rejecting this response because:Once again the merchant makes the highly disingenuous response in connection with third party intervention of demanding that the Complainant initiate direct contact with the merchant, without any mention of the issues raised in the Complaint, indication of willingness to investigate or address them -- or any mention of any effort to initiate said contact of it's own accord, if such contact is as essential a requirement to the merchant taking action as the merchant indicates. The unrelenting disingenuousness of the merchant confirms my initial assessment that since becoming publicly traded two years ago last month, the merchant has opted to follow the lead of other publicly traded social media networking companies by systematically nurturing Confederate sympathies, so that the merchant can profit from the "controversy" it engenders. For if the merchant were as adamantly opposed to "racism" in the traditional sense of the word (the policies and practices of the Confederacy) as the merchant claims in it's guidelines, the merchant would not require direct contact to at least indicate a willingness to investigate the possibility of Regional bias on the part of it's moderators in the furtherance of resurrecting the Confederacy; a formal request for third party intervention would more than suffice. Regardless of the merchant's formula or motivation behind it's calculation to permit it's service to become a platform for Confederate sympathizers, it could not be more at odds with the steadfast opposition to "racism" professed in it's guidelines.

I've reported this before and will once again as a courtesy before filing a BBB report. I am being targeted by a group of people who don't want me to post about local community issues. They don't agree with me on my opinions so they close my threads or report them as disrespectful when they clearly are not. This group always has someone create a conflict to get the whole post deleted. When I report disrespectful content directed at me like comments of "people like you" they come back just fine. One of the attached threads I'm literally attacked, I report it and they shut the whole original thread down as disrespectful.I post issues that are coming before our local boards that directly impact us. I am rejecting this response because:Little to no effort is being made to address this issue. Harassment has been reported. Multiple complaints have been filed with little to no response. It was the whole reason for filing a BBB complaint because reporting directly to ND does nothing. They do not take harassment seriously. Posts that are not violations are removed just because a lead can. Threads are shut down for no other reason than the people controlling that neighborhood does not agree or doesn't want people to attend meetings. Attacks are made and when a report is filed, it's marked as not a violation on this group of people but then they violate and remove a post made by me that was nothing more than a notice of date and time for a local meeting, marking it as disrespectful.
It's blatant harassment. That ND REFUSES to address. I currently have a man who doesn't even live in our community following me on all my posts trying to start a conflict. He has been reported for not living here. He has been reported for nasty comments. They do nothing because he is a member of the group that controls ND in our community and is friends with the LEAD. It's cyber stalking.
I no longer feel safe on my ND community. The stress of having a man follow my posts and harass me constantly that doesn't even live anywhere near me is taking a toll. He used to live in ******** but moved to ************ YEARS ago. Important posts regarding meetings in our community were never restored and the one that was restored no longer reached people so they even knew there was a meeting scheduled. I will ask once again, please address the harassment. The Lead is biased and has personally participated in the harassments. She was reported and nothing happened.
Please take the time to actually look at what they are doing. When I'm attacked I'm not allowed to respond or I will be reported if I do, yet that attack remains. Every effort is being made by the lead and this group of people to make it so miserable for me that I will leave the forum. They have done it to others who have just left because trying to get ND to actually prevent it isn't worth the work or time required to try and get it stopped.
Please help stop this or make it so that I can block these people from even seeing my posts in the first place. Mute just means I can't see their nasty comments but everyone else can. Block just means they can't contact me in direct messages. PLEASE make it so we can BLOCK cyber stalking.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference tocomplaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. Efforts have been made to resolve some issues. Since this complaint I've had other posts flagged but upon appeal they were restored fairly quickly. I still have one post stuck in review for about 2 weeks now and another one reported for being uncivil to me has also been stuck in review. The man following my posts and harassing me that didn't even live in my neighborhood has also stopped. Thank you for that.

I began advertising with this company at the beginning of November. Their policy is to charge up front, this amounts to payment for services not yet received. According to a customer service rep, the ad will continue to run until the end of the cycle and then auto renewed. I attempted to cancel the ad about 2 weeks in, and the ad continued to run. The only option I had was to reduce the daily amount and shorten the length of the ad. Only until I sent an email did they manually stop the ad. Their policies and disingenuous, predatory and potentially illegal. Coupled with the fact that they do not have any avenue to talk to a person, this tells me all I need to know about this company.Business Response

However, if the neighbor writes to Nextdoor Support and requests that we reactivate her account from suspension, we can do that.
