Hello, I contacted Intelius because they had listed personal information of mine and my familys on their website. I would like for them to remove it. After emailing them. They sent a response stating I would need to download a special suppression tool. That seems very much like malware. They control the site and there arent too many people in ******* named *************************, or with the name Seraaj period (I checked). I have tried numerous times to remove my personal information off of the following websites: addresses.com, intelius.com, ****************.com, ***********.com, etc. their parent company has made deleting my information impossible. i truly want my personal information deleted from all of their databases, removed from all of their websites and i want them to stop selling/sharing my information. it is insane how they overcomplicate the process and make it impossible. i've been trying for hours, i've called multiple times, i've tried every resolution i've seen online. it makes no difference.Business Response

I received notification today from my security software that my information is being shared and/or sold without my knowledge or permission on this website. On accessing the website I found multiple records on myself using various forms of my name and across a variety of locations as well as records disclosing information about my family members without their knowledge or permission. The records presented contain full names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, ages, and other sensitive data that *** allow outside individuals to perform acts of fraud, identity theft, and other such crimes.I tried to access the the ability to remove the information presented about myself and my family members, some of whom are elderly and at expedited risk of predation given the information presented. The process for this site impedes that ability as:1) it is complicate and confusing in that it suggests modifying suppression rules, which allow your data to remain with the company, but supposedly not be visible to the public or that you can delete your information but that doing this will allow it to remain visible on their site. 2)That although you *** look and individual up by name to view their records, in attempting to act in their suggested suppress/delete processes you must use your email address to find the record. Some of the records presented on myself I do not know the email address that would be linked and some of the family members they have presented information on do not have email addresses.This type of dangerous and predatory business practice should be made criminal.Business Response

There are two records under my previous legal name that are mine, one from ******** and one from *********. There is also a record under another name that seems to contain my information for some reason. I cannot reply with said names in this context as the BBB may publicly post this interaction (despite you doing so after having been made aware via their interactions). In addition to this there are eight other records displaying the information of my family members we need immediately removed from your system. All of these relatives are of advanced age and/or are disabled so I have been empowered to act on their behalf. The records of all mentioned individuals include full names, phone numbers, etc all of which puts them and myself at risk of scammers, identity thieves, and other malicious actors. To say that it is for personal use only proves the issue when for some that intended use is criminal activity. The collection and display of personal information is the exact opposite of care for an individual's privacy and security, especially when it is without their knowledge and/or consent.
In my original complaint I included pictures of your suppression pages. The access was complicated and unclear saying that suppressed records will not be removed and removed records will not be suppressed. Had the process been clear cut I would have removed the (so far) eleven records from your system myself.
I wish to have all information regarding myself and my family members (at their request) removed from your system and from public view immediately and to never have it again appear.

A summary of the specific circumstances: Intelius is using my name, education, past jobs, and photo for a listing. The listing is using the incorrect email. I do not own this email. This email is inactive. As such, I have no way to use the site suppression methods. The listing in question is the first result (********************************): *********************************************************** A summary of other steps taken to resolve this complaint: I have tried contacting customer support 4 times and each time, they have ignored the actual content of my message and have told me to use the same suppression methods that I have explained are not working. I have implored this business multiple times to remove the listing above. I have explained that this listing is creating problems in my job search. PeopleConnect purposefully obfuscates the process of deleting data from their website using deceptive "dark patterns". Their ******************** requires agreeing to terms that effectively cede ownership of data that does not belong to them. Attempting to have data removed via phone or email results only in being misled, by being told the ******************** is the only option, or being outright ignored. I'm a ********** resident who is attempting to have their information suppressed and kept from re-sharing under the California Consumer Privacy Act. Intelius has, in the past, said that they were suppressing the data (albeit not under CCPA.) As CCPA gives me added benefits, I'd like this information removed as soon as possible and kept from re-appearing. I've attempted to use Intelius's opt-out form but it has a high level of verification demand and is only willing to send verification codes to email addresses or telephone numbers that aren't in service.
