      I agreed to pay $1.01 for the people search and $4.25 for the reverse phone look-up. I did not agree to allow them to take out $37.22 from my bank account the same day. I cancelled my subscription.

      This data broker has illegally collected and sold my PII (personal identifiable information) online. I hereby demand that they immediately remove my information. They have refused to answer my emails and their "removal" tool is a joke that will not work because the phone numbers are wrong and the email address is a different person with my name! So I can't "verify" that I am me when their system is full of incorrect data about me to begin with! Remove my information immediately or I will seek legal action!       I noticed a monthly charge for $33.05 on my credit card from Intelius that had been going back 18+ months, however I never signed up for this service. Upon contacting the company, they informed me the account had been opened in Dec 2017 with an email I didn't recognize ( using @yopmail.com) and that the account had never been used. There have been no other fraudulent transactions on this credit card over the same period. Based on previous lawsuits against this company, I can only assume they fraudulently set up the account. I requested a full refund, but the company was only able to provide a refund for 12 months. While I should have caught this earlier when reviewing my credit card statements, I did not.

If a user completes their initial ********************** inquiry but does NOT enter their payment information, they will not be charged and no membership will be created.

      In the event of proclaimed fraud, Intelius requests the billed recipient contact us first to ensure the account in question is thoroughly investigated. When this claim can be justifiably substantiated, the account in question is disabled from further use, all memberships to be cancelled, and all charges to be returned to the payment option holder (up to 12 months due to system limitations).

      We have refunded all unauthorized ******** (up to 12 months due to system limitations) to ************************** payment option used to enroll, and no further charges will be incurred.       I was unknowingly charged ***** on july 31st. *** tried nearly daily to get this refund. I filed a chargeback despute through paypal, that went in Intelius favor, and now they are refusing to refund and are keeping my money, after 20 days of constant effort with no resolve. I, like so many others, didnt want anything more than the $1.04 charge I authorized, not the sneaky expensive membership that came after. I dont want it, didnt see it, havent used it at all, and I want my money back.

      Customers are able to cancel online from within their account, through our Customer Phone Support, or by sending an email to [email protected]. After a thorough investigation, we have determined that no cancellation attempts were made through any of these channels prior to ****************** initiating the chargeback with PayPal on July 30, 2023.

      We have confirmed that Mr. ******** account has been cancelled as of July 30, 2023. Additionally, we would be more than happy to issue a refund on his account; however we are unable to refund the payments due to a pending chargeback. A chargeback is a dispute with a credit card provider, and ****************** should receive an update directly from them regarding the resolution.

      Only agreed to charge of $1.01 which included sales tax. The $4.26 for unlimited PDF was not something I was offered or allowed to decline it was not disclosed. The state sales tax $4.26 is inaccurate because the state sales tax is roughly 3 on the filler county sales tax is $4.26 also incorrect as my county sales tax is another 2. This is all inaccurate and not disclosed to the purchaser.

      This website known as ussearch have been illegally and with unauthorized permission have been using my name, my information, my likeness and my address also information relating to my relatives and loved ones on their website with malicious intent and borderline defamation characteristics against me, my name, and my life. This type of unauthorized use of my information and background check has caused many of problems such as encounters with police, trying to apply for jobs and community opportunities, and meeting people who are curious to know who I am. They have Information on their site claiming that I have drug dealing charges, threatening my neighbors charges, speeding tickets and traffic related charges, and assault charges claiming I have FELONIES on my record when the only town I lived in lake county has ALL of my cases and public records on file in which I was NEVER convicted of having felonies of any kind!!! They also lie saying I lived in the ****************, NEVER in my life have I lived in the **************** at all and their info claims I have charges in ********, ******* it is ridiculous. This company also has terrible reviews from other people with stories like how this company made fraudulent!! charges on their credit card without warning when trying to run background searches! So I would want to make a plea in which they take down and remove all information on their website regarding my name, my life, and my background which is in fact FALSE, people like me are very sick of this online slander of our character and personal information and if we cant agree to have this false information removed from their website we as a people need to hold these slanderous companies accountable for defamation in court!! So I would appreciate a response from this company ussearch so we can move forward from this! Thank you!

      As I was looking through my PayPal account transaction I realized that Intelius had been charging me $33.95 per month for 14 months! I immediately removed them as payees through PayPal. This was a total of $475.30. I purchased a background check for .95 but I did not sign up for a subscription. I went to Intelius directly and tried to call. I kept getting my call disconnected while on hold so I did an email through their contact us page. They never responded or reached out to me. I would like this cancelled and to be refunded the $475.30 they skimmed from my account for over a year. I would like them to notify all people paying for a subscription that they are in fact doing so. I never received even any marketing emails that would have tipped me off that I had a subscription or I would have pursued a resolution immediately

      My father, *******************************, signed up for a week trial of Intelius.com, a "people-finder" on September 30th, 2021. He was unaware of the monthly charge of $29.78, as when he signed up there wasn't any obvious notation on the website that he would be charged monthly after the one week trial. He has since been charged $595.60, and Intelius refuses to refund him. My father is 77 years of age and has *********** dementia, and I believe Intelius is taking advantage of elders. They took my father's credit card information because the one week trial was $0.99, which he agreed to pay. Then they had his credit card which they used to charge him the monthly fee. There have been several class action lawsuits against this company, and they continue to take advantage of people. I have spoken to Intelius twice on the phone, and both times they tell me it is his credit card's responsibility to refund the charges, but his *********** credit card has already closed the case due to insufficient documentation. My father didn't keep any documentation because he had no idea he was signing up for the monthly charge! We do have documentation from *********** with the monthly charges. Please help us and others who have the same issue. Thank you in advance!

      We can confirm that the charges linked to the account in question were disputed, creating a chargeback. A chargeback simply means that the account is in dispute with *********************************** financial institution, and they should follow up with the finiancial institution directly regarding any refund concerns. 

      We can confirm that this membership was immediately cancelled and disabled, and no further charges will be applied. Additionally, as a result of the dispute, this account will be inaccessible going forward.

      My father, *******************************, paid Intelius.com $595.60 for a service that he was unaware he had signed up for. He agreed to pay $0.99 for a one week trial of Intelius on September 30, 2021, and was unaware that he had signed up for a monthly membership of $29.78. He used the service once, during his $0.99 week trial.

      Intelius continues to insist that this is not their problem, and to contact the credit card company, ************ I have spoken to the credit card company, and it is documented that they closed the case and did not refund my father due to insufficient documentation. There was no documentation because my father was unaware that he was being charged a monthly fee. The only documentation we have is the credit card charges. Never did he sign a contract, nor did he ever receive an email stating the monthly charges. 

      I have spoken to 3 different representatives at Intelius.com, and have requested to speak to a supervisor but have been denied.

      The actions of Intelius.com constitute fraud, in particular elder fraud as my father is 77 with *********** dementia. 

      If he is not refunded the $595.60 that he was charged unknowingly, I will be pursuing legal action, as well as alerting the ***** the ************************* and our state attorney general.
